After a disasterous morning of trying to find somewhere to get a mani/pedi that didn't result in a giant wait, I found this place on Yelp and gave them a call. They had open appointments for a mani/pedi, which I scheduled for 2p. Within an hour or so of booking,I got a call back asking if I could come in tomorrow instead. I told them no, and they said "Okay, well if you don't hear back from us, everything will be fine". Not a great start, but after my rough morning, I was just glad to have an appointment. The place was nice inside- decorated in a Pinterest- inspired fashion. Marilyn Monroe posters, crystal chandeliers, soft seaform paint colors, etc. When I got there, it looked like the owner was the only person on staff, with a client in her chair. She mentioned my nail tech was on her way in. She showed up on time, and we proceeded to the nail area. It had some clothes for sale hanging on a rack in the nail area, which I thought was a bit strange, but whatever. The nail tech, who was VERY nice and personable, mentioned that since I wanted regular polish and not shellac, my options were pretty limited. They did not have any "french" type manicure colors. I settled on a color and sat down to get started. She laid down some paper towels on top of the nail station (kinda lame). Not even a towel? She had been out for a few days, ill, so she had no idea where a lot of her supplies/tools were. She spent a lot of time hunting down the things she needed for the manicure and pedicure. She did a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat on my fingers, and then we moved on to the pedicure area. There were 2 pedicure chairs, and she gave a lot of attention to detail. They use a sugar scrub, a mask, and then massage with lotion. They are pretty aggressive with their cleaning- using alcohol, sanitizer, chlorine to clean out the pedicure tubs, etc. So if this is something you really care about, they're great about that. This entire process took 3 hours. Normally, I would put a mani pedi at 1.5-2 hours, and maybe that includes some wait time. I was so surprised that my 2pm appointment had me there until 5pm. My total? $75. Now, my mindset could have really impacted my review. Had I known that I was blocking out 3 hours of my day ahead of time for this, I would have had the right expectations up front about how long I'd be there. I'm still not sure if I'll be going back. tl; dr Place is nice if you'd like a more personal spa-type salon experience. Just set aside a lot of time for your appointment.

I didn't want or need anything fancy, just a nice shampoo, cut and something to make me look and feel better. Boy, am I glad I found this place. It's located in a popular district off Mainstreet in Toledo. If you park in the back, there's tons of free parking and is a lot easier to get in and out than the street parking. Walking in, the place is HUGE. like 3 floors with an elevator huge. Beautifully decorated and swanky with all kinds of stuff going on here. Who ever owns/runs this place did an amazing job of making it feel and look wonderful. Because of the virus, I was required to fill out an online health form and have my temperature taken upon entry, and wear a face mask. I was told this upfront and was ok with it. I also got lots of text reminders of my appointment time and a confirmation reply was requested, which I did. The salon definitely communicates! I was sent to the elevator on the third floor where Lindsay was waiting for me. I sat at a table with a chair and waited to be called. The salon is huge anyway, but the upstairs was beautiful and had so much room to move around in. lots of exposed brick, wood floors, tons of fixtures throughout. Lindsay sat me down and asked what I wanted done. I told her and she said that I could really use a deep conditioning treatment. I've had them done before and my hair always feels better. The treatment was expensive, more than I usually spend, but after having it, I understand why. We went to the shampoo area and she used most of the deep conditioning treatment. She sent me home with the rest to use in 2 weeks. My hair LOVED IT. Its by Kerastase which is supposed to be a really good brand and only sold at approved salons. They are not styling hair here now, but I was extremely happy to go here and get my hair done. It was totally worth the money that I spent, and would tell anyone to go here even if its only once or twice a year. I didn't feel pressured to do anything I wasn't comfortable with and my stylist really listened to my needs. I would totally go here again and am glad I found this place. Worth every penny.

I personally am always wary when I go places to get my haircut as I've had many bad haircut experiences in the past. So when I decided to give Salon Europa a try, I have to admit that I was a little nervous. For starters, they are located in a shopping plaza which has been remodeled and is slowly filling up with new businesses. Therefore when you see this location from the street, it's not that impressive. However don't let your eyes deceive you! Once you enter Salon Europa, you truly feel as if you're in a high-end, expensive salon! The inside of the salon is very modern and extremely clean! As a matter of fact, I can't recall ever being in a salon that is as clean as Salon Europa. The customer waiting area is not your typical chair-lined window seating that you'll find in other salons. They have an area in the salon that is partitioned off where customers can enjoy a little privacy and relax in comfortable, over-sized leather chairs. There is also a modern fireplace for those cold Michigan winters, a flat screen television with satellite TV, a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary drinks (soda, water, juice, etc...), fresh coffee, and a snack area where various light snacks are served. You will also notice something uniquely different about this salon. The hairstylists stations, which at other salons are typically lined along the wall, are not designed like that here. The hair stations at Salon Europa are designed in such a way that each customer who is having their hair done has a bit of privacy. I find this highly appealing. Salon Europa also seems to employ hairstylists who truly have a passion for hair. I noticed that each stylist seemed to take their time, making sure to listen to the customers' needs and offer them advice. All of the stylists also seemed very friendly and able to hold a conversation with customers (which I think is important when visiting a salon... no one typically wants to sit there in silence as their stylist works). When I had my hair done, I saw Natalie. She was friendly, professional, styled hair better than anyone I've ever seen before, and MOST importantly, she listened to me and what I wanted! Salon Europa's prices are extremely affordable. While other local salons will charge $25+ for a simple wash, cut and style, Salon Europe starts at around $15! Salon Europa has the look, feel and service of a high-end salon, without the high-end pricing! I would highly recommend Salon Europa to any woman, man or family who is looking for a unique salon, a great stylist, and outstanding pricing. For a wedding im attending next weekend, and 2 because in Florida they charge $300+ and i have short hair... Normally Melissa got my hair on point of what i asked. I went in to this salon blonde with some orange and i showed her picture (below) of what i wanted done, she told me that she will get me as close as possible. When she was putting dark in my hair i told her i didn't want any dark in my hair she said no worries its just ash tone to make it how you want it... and that dont i "trust" her... when she was washing my hair i told her it definitely looked to dark. She told me wet hair lies, once done blowdrying it she told me that it looks great and that she loved it.( i said it was darker than what i wanted) she then said she had to "color correct it" she NEVER NOT 1 TIME said she wasn't going to be able to get anywhere close to what i wanted... If she would have told me i would have told her that i wanted something different like blonde in general because I wanted to stay blonde and work towards icy blonde... and I really wanted to be icy white blonde for the wedding, i never wanted to go dark and in fact I've been trying to go blonde and i was almost finally to blonde, I looked at it and i started crying because it was NOTHING like what i asked for.. actually it was far from it. After making an appointment for December she then texted me hours after and said she was no longer able to do my hair because i stressed her out and that she takes pride in her work... well if she takes pride in her work why didnt she apologize for making me dark.. insted she just kept saying "i like it" " it looks good on you" she even took me outsidw to show me that it was lighter outside and said it will light up with a couple of washes.... I don't care if it looks good on me or if she likes it... its my head and my hair and i didnt like it.. she should have offered a refund when she said she cant do my hair anymore, or better yet should have offered to FIX my hair without charge because she did not do what i asked. I've spoken to multiple people who have done are are still doing hair and they said "she should have never added dark because you want icy blonde" and " I don't understand why she made you so dark".... Im so beyond upset and the fact she did NOT take accountability and just decided to take the easy way out by saying she can no longer do my hair was absolutely WRONG of her. Honestly I would have been okay with an apology and a I'll fix it for you and then we need to part ways but instead she just said I stressed her out ( all because I told her my feelings and because I was in tears) which should have been completely understandable because it is NOTHING like what I asked for.... Im so disappointed and this was an absolute disaster!! I can NOT recommend anymore, Because going to her for 7 years of going to her she will apparently not listen what you want apparently she takes to much pride and decideds to do whatever she wants. 100% disappointing and now I have to spend another probably $200-$300 to get it fixed and at that point I should have just spent the $300+ dollars here in Florida and got exactly what I was asking for instead of paying for an $80 flight and $185 for her to mess my hair up.
