For the past year we have been to TQ several times for our important life events. My engagement ring was purchased here (with the help of Jess). So I'm googling tacori engagement rings and TQD pops up. I currently live in Las Vegas so I was hesitant about pulling the trigger on something of this magnitude without getting my hands or eyes on it. So I figured if nothing else get some pricing on tacori. Jessica from TQD helped me from the start. Friendly, knowledgeable, not pushy, gave me lots of options and time to sort it out. I'm not the easiest of customers but she is the best at what she does. I gave her some of the ideas I had and gave her the green light to put a ring together. After searching around Madison for the "right" place to buy an engagement ring to propose to my then-girlfriend Amanda, I settled on TQ Diamonds. For some reason, I figured all retail jewelers would probably be the same, but boy, was I wrong! I toyed with the idea of buying on Blue Nile, but I knew I wanted to build a relationship with a local place, and have access to after-sales service (such as cleaning, repairs etc.). My salesman ended up being Tom Odgren, and he has been nothing but exceptional since I first sat down with him to look at diamonds. The whole time, it felt like I was interacting more with a family member than a "sales" guy. Throughout the whole process, he was patient, knowledgeable, and kind, and fully validated my decision to go with a brick-and-mortar jeweler. Since I first bought the engagement ring from Tom and TQ, my (now-wife) Amanda and I have been back countless times to look at wedding rings and to get her engagement ring cleaned. Each time, Tom greets us with a smile, and he feels like an old friend at this point. Perhaps his greatest moment was a potentially disastrous one. Amanda's princess-cut diamond got chipped when it was being cleaned, something that can happen with a brittle, square-cut diamond like hers. Although the chip was indiscernible with the naked eye, TQ was very up front with us and gave us several options to rectify the situation. In the end, Tom showed us three more diamonds and we were able to pick a new one (0.01kt bigger!) that seemed to have even more sparkle than the previous one. Although it was a little sad to give up the diamond that I proposed with, the situation wound up being an absolute pleasure to work through with Tom's help and sympathy. I contacted TQ Diamonds through Yelp and received a reply within one business day from the store manager! My request was a challenge--resize a custom-made brass ring down two full sizes. The manager was upfront with me and explained his concerns as well as what he felt comfortable with attempting should I opt to go forward. I chose to have them see what they could do and I am so happy I did--the craftsmanship was top-notch, the communication I received before, during and after the process was exceptional. I purchased my fiancee's engagement ring here, and only have good things to say about my experience. I went in with a general idea of the ring I wanted to buy, assuming I'd have to come back a few different times just to make a final decision. Sally, however, patiently helped me look through a number of options throughout the store. We were able to order a few diamonds the same day. When I came back in to make my final decision, I also worked with Tom, who was just as helpful in explaining the differences between each stone, showing them in different lighting, and finally laying out the timeline for when I could expect to receive the completed ring (an estimated three weeks for shipping and customization). Now that I no longer work here, I can write a review without being obviously biased. T.Q. is definitely the best jewelry store in Madison. And yes, I am biased because I worked there, but I'm also honest (I just wouldn't have written a review if I thought they sucked). They have an extensive selection of diamonds, engagement rings, wedding bands, and diamond and color fashion jewelry. While nothing here is cheap per se (very few items start around $150-200), everything is high quality and unique. I can't even tell you how many times people remarked "I've never seen anything like this before!" Plus, qualifications are everything. T.Q. has two Certified Gemologist Appraisers (there are only a few hundred in the U.S., and they must re-certify every year), one Certified Gemologist, and one Graduate Gemologist on staff. They have a stellar Gold/Platinumsmith who does gorgeous, meticulous work. They have a great sales staff who have years of experience in the industry. How can you beat that? Word to the wise: They might have special promotions (advertised via their website or direct mail if you're on the mailing list), but they never have sales. They price to sell and not mark too high just to mark down. You can rest assured that you're getting a reasonable price for the quality of the jewelry. read more

First of all I have to say that I'm not from the Wisconsin area so I can't speak to the actual store. My whole interaction was done by phone and email. I was looking for a push gift for my wife and I remembered that she had lost her wedding band quite a few years ago. I didn't remember the model and the certificate that I had for this Tacori band was not correct. Tom helped me tremendously by searching the bands that would go with the engagement ring that she has until I found the one I was looking for. Upon arriving at their site, I was skeptical when I received a notification if I wanted to chat with a customer service rep. Too many times, I would end up talking to a self automated "bot". However, every single time I arrive at TQ Diamonds, the person in the chat window is a real person who answers all of your questions. No run around answer, no generic pre-programmed answer. One of the main draws to TQ Diamonds was I was able to find some watches that were sold out at most retailers and I wanted to give this site a try rather than go the eBay route. Prices were reasonable and they were able to accommodate any special requests. Shipping was expected from the United States but I was quickly reimbursed a difference when I pointed out a price discrepancy. Wow this place is awesome! I checked out a few others before i found this place. I was reading Yelp after a bad day of ring shopping and i stumbled upon TQ Diamonds. After reading a few more reviews i called them and talked to Ted. He was so knowledgeable and friendly i jumped back in my car and drove down there. Ted helped me pick out the perfect ring that my fiancee liked from a different store. He also created a custom ring for me from a couple photos. I am so happy with both mine and my fiancee's rings. They fixed my glasses! I'd never have expected a jeweler to service eyewear, but when my specialty frames broke, I was referred by two optometrist offices as most do not do any work with soldering. But TQ, was helpful and friendly from the start - beginning with the phone conversation where the person that answered was sure to give me specific directions and a quote of $45 that held true when it came time for payment. I am your average male and therefore do not have a lot of experience dealing with jewelry stores. I came in to get a ring re sized that I was gifted by a relative. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the man working even showed me a special soviet emblem that was stamped into my ring (seen with microscope). Long story short i was told that re sizing the ring risked having this stamp cut off. A week later when i came to pick it up, they informed me that they were able to re size it as well as preserve the emblem and uniqueness of the ring. read more

Absolutely, hands down, the best and only place to purchase jewelry ever! I was on a mission to replace my engagement ring that was unfortunately lost about 1 1/2 years ago (I was devastated when it happened). But with life and school etc, we couldn't replace it until now. The original ring was purchased at a local jeweler in Virginia Beach, VA. (We're stationed here in Va Beach and I'm originally a Midwesterner from northern Minnesota). My husband did a wonderful job of picking a piece that fit me very well. He, nor I, are familiar with designer jewelry and couldn't tell you the difference between one designer over another. But he happened to buy a Tacori bc the beautiful etching detail fit my personality. (Only after did I learn that Tacori is quite the renowned designer and with that can also be expensive). I'm sure he paid way too much at the local place. But anyways... Of course when it came time to replace it I wanted the exact Tacori band but hopefully not at the price he paid. There had to be a better way! Insert Google search for my ring and BAM! There at the top was TQ diamonds. So I browsed the site and 1) liked the prices I was seeing and 2) the immaculate reviews on google and Yelp and 3) that they're located in Wisconsin. I'm from the Midwest and Midwesterners are known for being hard workers, dependable, and honest. Having one location for 23 years and having lots of national sales along with being one of the top authorized Tacori dealers all gave me a good feeling. So I called and spoke with Ted just to get more information. Ted was amazing. He answered every question I had (and I had A LOT). He didn't rush me off the phone. He had great suggestions that were genuine to my wants and needs without trying to "up-sell" me like a car dealership. I told him I would speak with my husband and get back to him in a few days. There was no pressure to purchase immediately. I could tell in our first conversation that he was genuinely concerned about my happiness when it came to purchasing this piece. We decided to move forward with the purchase and I'm SO glad we did. Ted walked me through every step of the way. He went leaps and bounds above my expectations with timelines and communication. He even put my worries at ease in regards to the finished product. I expressed my concern for being 2,000 miles away and not being able to lay eyes on my stone or ring before bringing it home. What if the color (yellow sapphire) wasn't the right shade of yellow, I had said. Ted again exceeded my expectations and laid out a plan to make sure I was completely satisfied with the piece and let me know that if I wasn't when it arrived that I could return it and they would make the necessary adjustments until it was perfect. My ring arrived a week in advance and I was completely surprised! I didn't know he had gotten the setting so quickly! I was so ecstatic to see my yellow sapphire set perfectly in my ring and at first questioned if the ring was real! ...I thought, did he just place the stone in a fake setting for me to gauge whether the yellow sapphire was the right color ?? Nope, it was my ring! And it was absolutely perfect. He got the yellow color of the sapphire perfect! Not too light and not too dark. The cut, the glisten, the sparkle, perfect! Ted and TQ have absolutely gained a lifetime customer over here! I will be recommending all of my family and friends to TQ for life. Spoke to Ted online, he was very great and friendly and helped me a lot with my gorgeous Tacori ring (even though I was annoying with my millions of questions). Everywhere else said it would take 6 weeks at most for my customized ring. But Ted reassured me that it would take approx 2 weeks even he was wrong only a week and 2 days! My ring looks amazing. Nothing beats superb service and that's what truly a customer looks for and Ted was the best. Over the years, I have bought jewelry, watches, etc. from multiple jewelers in different states and countries, and by far, my experience with Kristyn and TQ was, bar none, one of the best buying experiences.
