I couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Tim from TQ diamonds. After literally months of researching diamonds online/offline and speaking with local jewelers, I came to the conclusion that I wanted a Tacori ring, and I wanted a specific diamond. I went to multiple high-end jewelers in my local and surrounding areas to obtain quotes for the specific ring and diamond; however, the prices were unreasonable, and I was not receiving the customer service that I felt warranted my business. This led me to at least explore alternative solutions in the online space. I must admit that I was somewhat skeptical of the whole online buying process, but I realized that I didn't know any of the jewelers in my town any more than someone over the internet. So, I searched for Tacori dealers in the US and came across Tim online. When I visited his website, I noticed that there was a chat with a jewelry expert capability, so I said, "what the heck." The individual on the other end of the chat session was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, so I asked him/her were they were located (thinking this was one of the best trained outsourced people ever); he typed Madison, WI. ( It was Tim himself.) That's correct... the owner of the store was up at 1 AM speaking with me about a very personal and monumental decision. It is difficult to find customer service in person, let alone, experience a high level of it from an owner willing to answer a laundry list of detailed questions in the middle of the night via e-chat. This impressed me immediately, and I scheduled a time to discuss things via telephone later that week. When Tim and I had our first verbal conversation, he was nothing but helpful, professional and candid with me. I purposefully gave him multiple times to upsell me, and he wouldn't do it. Being a business man myself, I could see that Tim is more interested in the relationship development than the sale. He understands that if you build a relationship and treat a person fairly and with respect, the business will come. Ultimately, Tim was helpful throughout the entire process and proactively kept me apprised of where we were in the process. When I had questions, he was quick to respond. In the end, I received the most amazing Tacori ring I could have ever imagined, and my girlfriend (now fiancé) said yes to my proposal! She couldn't be happier with the ring, and it is truly a sight to behold. I would undoubtedly work with Tim again. read more

I experienced exceptional service at TQ Diamonds. I have a wedding set that belonged to my mother in-law. It's at least 55 years old. I took it to Kay Jewelers in East Towne Mall to have it cleaned. They inspected it and found that it had some loose diamonds and that one diamond was chipped. I looked at it myself under their microscope and I couldn't see the chip, but I did see that the stones were loose. The salesperson told me the stones just needed to be tightened. I agreed to have the work done and left my rings with them. They said my rings would be sent out and would be back in about 10 days. After I got home, I started to feel uneasy about leaving them there. I just didn't feel good about them being sent out so I went back and got them. I did some research online, looking for other local jewelers, and came across TQ Diamonds. They had a lot of good reviews so I called them. They said they would have to see my rings (of course) to determine what work, if any, needed to be done to them and that all the work they do is done in-house. I brought my rings in on Tuesday, April 4th and was greeted by Jess, who brought them back to their jewelry repair person. She said the prongs were very worn down and needed to be retipped, they couldn't be tightened. This didn't completely surprise me because after getting my rings back from Kay, I asked my mother in-law if she ever had any work done on them and she told me she never had the rings inspected or even cleaned while she had them. The repair person at TQ Diamonds also said there were no chips on any of the stones. This morning, Jess called me to say my rings were ready (yes, four days!). They look beautiful. I am so happy I brought them to TQ Diamonds. They look brand new. Jess was extremely helpful and friendly. I will be bringing all my future jewelry needs to TQ Diamonds and the next time I'm looking to buy a new piece of jewelry, I know where I'll be going. My wife and I decided that we wanted to purchase new, matching wedding bands. We scoured Madison jewelry stores and in the process encountered a host of stores with poor stock, and employees who were uninformed and ran the gamut from bored to rude. We had just reached the point where we'd grudgingly concluded that we would probably have to plan a trip to Chicago if we were to have any hope of finding rings that we loved and could cherish for the rest of our married lives. One day, my wife called me over to her computer. She was on the TQ Diamonds website, and had clicked on the "Romantic Stories" tab. The first story of how the owner proposed to his wife really touched her. She started browsing through wedding bands, and discovered that TQ was more than just a "Diamond" store, that they had a remarkable selection of bands in a variety of metals. She decided - that is, we decided - that before going anywhere else, we had to check out this local store. Every aspect of the store was utterly winning. Selection and quality of stock were excellent, the prices were very fair. Most remarkable was the fact that the staff was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and that they really liked their jobs - well, I guess they'd have to, since the person with the shortest tenure had worked there for 14 years! Three employees are GIA certified - nice. We bought his-and-her rings on our second visit - after our salesperson, Mike, called the U.S. Christian Bauer rep, who in turn called Germany to see if the company could create custom rings for us. Keine Probleme - "no problem," and no "custom" charges. Mike called a few days ago to let us know that the manufacturing of the rings was complete, and that they'd been shipped and would arrive in about 10 days. He was as excited as we were. As I look over the testimonials on Yelp, I see that our story is not unique. There's a chorus of praise proclaiming TQ Diamonds "Madison's Best Jewelry Store." From the moment I stepped into TQ Diamonds, I was completely amazed at the professionalism displayed by the sales staff there. I initially met Tom, over a year before I ended up purchasing a Verragio ring. My fiance and I went to look at rings so I had an idea what she wanted when I decided to ask her. We went to another company earlier that day and I was absolutely disgusted by the behavior of the sales staff there. They were pushing me into something that I wasn't ready for. The conduct at TQ couldn't have been more opposite. Tom was there to answer any questions and show us anything that we wanted to see. He never asked when I thought I would ask or what my budget was. After we walked out, I said that I would absolutely be purchasing a ring there when the time was right. And although it was over a year later, I contacted Tom and he had all of the information on what we had looked at earlier. He made the process incredibly simple and answered all of my questions. He also helped me to stay within my budget and never once tried to make me spend more than I had planned on. Also, we were heading on a vacation about three weeks later, and that is where I wanted to ask, but the ring wasn't quite going to be ready before we left. Tom and TQ even went the extra mile to have my ring shipped to me and I was able to ask as planned. Since we have been engaged, we have recommended TQ to everyone that we know who may be looking to get engaged! TQ Diamonds helped me and my fiancé pick out our rings. Jess took the time to sit with us and really developed a understanding of what I liked and didn't like, and even factored in what my job was. Once we started narrowing down what I wanted, I realized there were two things I specifically liked from two different rings! I made the comment that I wished they could combine, and Jess assured me that they could. She sent me drawings and gave me ideas on little adjustments that might be beneficial to me because of my job. When everything was approved by me, TQ diamonds will do a 3D print of your ring (warning: it's green!), so you can try it on before it is made!! This was bizarre to me; however, a step that is totally worth it in the end. Seeing it on my finger, before it was made, was an added comfort. My fiancée decided he wanted his ring to match mine in a way... he drew up an idea and once again, Jess delivered on a wonderful custom design!! We are still waiting for his; however, I was blown away by mine... it was so much better than I expected. I can only imagine his will be the same!! I contacted TQ Diamonds after doing some research on Casio G-Shock watches. My previous G-Shock watch was great but after serving me well, I'd outgrown it. I wanted a newer one with Atomic time updates, solar recharging, built in light and some newer bells and whistles like barometer, thermometer and altimeter. I found all that and more in the Casio GW9200-1. Once I found the watch I wanted, I had to find a vendor. I did a lot of searching online and came across TQ Diamonds. Their price was an unbelievable deal, they are based in the U.S. and they have great service. Ted helped me via their online chat tool and answered my questions and told me if I p,aced my order by a certain time... approx 15 mins from that point, my order would go our first class mail. While he answered my other questions, I placed my order online at their site and my watch arrived today (Monday). Talk about fast turn around! It came in a nice sized box with adequate packing materials. The watch was in perfect condition and absolutely what I expected. They made doing business with them very easy and they shipped my watch for free using USPS 1st class. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy jeweler here in the US. Great service on a big purchase. I worked with Lora and she was fantastic! I had just graduated from Madison in May, and had been in to the store a few times while I was a student looking at Tacori engagement rings. After working for a few months, I had the necessary funds and went back to see Lora. I didn't have much time, and I emailed her in advance with the range of center diamonds I wanted to look at and the specific rings I was interested in choosing from. She met me BEFORE store hours (had Badger football tickets) and we had a ring and diamond selected and ordered in 45 minutes. She was extremely helpful, professional, and was beyond genuine! She didn't try to up sell me and was very honest about the value of the diamonds she was showing me. And she took so much genuine joy in helping me find my perfect ring! I had two tanzanite gemstones that my dad had given my sister and I to make into rings before he passed away in 2011. I wanted to get the rings made to give my sister for her bridal shower this past weekend. I went into TQ Diamonds, told Janelle the back story of my precious gemstones and she went right to work helping me find the perfect ring to place the tanzanites in. Janelle was very knowledgable about tanzanites and placing gemstones into already made rings. I worked with Ted at TQ Diamonds when purchasing a hand-engraved Tacori engagement ring. They carried all the options that I could want, and offered the best prices I could find. What I did not expect was the exceptionally high-level of service I got from Ted. My email inquiries about the selected ring before purchase, placing my order, changing the stone size, requests for status updates, and delivery questions were all typically answered within minutes. My husband bought my engagment ring from TQ in 2005. We went back to purchase our wedding bands as well. Recently, my ring was damaged, and needed repair. The insurance company had me send my ring to a place where they replaced the diamond and fixed the damage....but the repair was terrible. I was sad and upset that the ring's repair was subpar. I took my ring back to TQ where I met Lora. She was amazingly kind and compasionate in terms of listening to my repair nightmare, as well as amazingly helpful in terms of providing me with knowledge and options for a much needed ring repair. Lora is an amazing person to work with. We bought my fiancée's engagement ring and both of our wedding bands at TQ Diamonds and she has been so helpful every step of the way. It's really great to have a salesperson remember your names and be genuinely happy to see you every time you stop by, even when it's just to have a ring cleaned. We had problems with the original engagement ring we received, and she went above and beyond to get the ring replaced for us so it would be perfect. She also helped us find the perfect wedding bands. We had trouble finding a wedding band that fit with the unique shape of the Tacori engagement ring, but TQ Diamond's great selection allowed us to find one that is the perfect fit! TQ Diamonds might be one of the smaller showrooms in Madison when it comes to jewelry stores, but they do a careful job of selecting their merchandise so there will be something there for everyone and in all price ranges. read more

We tried another store in town first based on a review from a couple of friends. They were nice but their hours were not good for anyone who didn't work downtown. We politely asked for our money back and ventured over to TQ Diamonds. We met Janelle and she walked us through everything we needed to know to pick out our engagement (wedding) rings. We got the rings and they felt a bit tight, especially mine. Janelle assured me that if we needed another size, we could get it, but just to hang tight and wear it for a weekend or so. Before that I had looked at several jewelers in the area and most were friendly and helpful enough and I didn't expect anything less. However, my experience at TQ Diamonds went way over expectations. My salesperson, Lora, was pleasantly and surprisingly concerned about my budget needs and only showed me rings within my price range. A great start to my buying experience.
