This turned out to be an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. The shop charged $221.94 just for the battery service, which was particularly disappointing considering a local O'Reilly's had offered to do the installation for free if I purchased the battery from them. The service was also plagued by unnecessary delays and oversight. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for two unexpected Uber rides because the shop kept my vehicle overnight, claiming the mechanic lacked the "proprietary tool" required to remove the battery. In reality, the job only requires a standard 10mm socket for the terminals and a 13mm socket with an extension for the hold-down bolt. To make matters worse, despite paying for a tire rotation, the shop completely missed that two of the rotated tires were left low on pressure. I chose to support a neighborhood business, but this experience was a lesson well learned.

He pretty much helped us negotiate the car deal and he just met us. My family have been loyal customers ever since. It's a relief to be able to take your car somewhere and know that they are honest and reliable. The whole staff, Sean, and the old school mechanic have been very friendly. They take time to explain to us about our cars. Once he was short on staff and I needed inspections that day, Rush called his competitor to make sure I got the inspections done that day. Oh, they love doggos. I waited outside with my dogs and Sean told us they are welcomed in the waiting room where everyone came and petted them! Do ever get a hug from your mechanic? Instead, he demanded a printed, itemized invoice--which is impossible for routine fluid services that local shops always quote verbally. I even offered to call Midas right there at the pickup counter on speakerphone so he could hear their live pricing himself, and he refused to let me call. When I demanded the store manager's contact info, Samuel López stood right there, claimed he was the store manager, and refused to honor the pre-service agreement. They held my keys hostage until I paid their full overcharged rates. Completely dishonest and unprofessional business practices. Corporate has been contacted. The total quote came close to $2K which was more than I expected. His initial assessment aligned with what my former mechanic had said, but additional repairs--especially replacing the spark plugs. While that hurt the budget, I understood the necessity. I had afternoon commitments, so I asked if a loaner car was available. I truly appreciated Edward lending me his Toyota Camry so I could make it to my event. He promised my car would be ready by 5:30 pm and I returned to pick it up as scheduled. Unfortunately, within five minutes of driving, the engine light came on and the car began shaking slightly. I immediately returned, and Edward told me to keep the loaner car overnight and come back on Wednesday so he could run a more thorough diagnostic. On Wed around 11 am, he texted to say the car was ready. I picked it up at 1 pm, and I've been driving it for several days now with no issues.
