Toy Traders - Ginormous Groot - Toy Stores Near Me - Langley, British Columbia

I was referee by a friend to visit Toy Traders back in October 2014. If I could, I'd spend all my money here, the place is heaven for people who love classic children's toys, comic and popular action film merchandise. I kept looking at the tall displays and action figures in awe. I also loved the Funko Pop collection as well. I'm glad they moved just recently to a bigger facility near Princess Auto in Langley. The original one was hard to walk through or past other customers and enjoy looking at the action figures in the glass cased displays. I'm am hoping to make a trip out there soon to check out the new displays and collectables! read more

If you are looking for some hard to find toys this is where you gotta go! They always have the best selection of Webkinz, Playmobil, Thomas, and Lego. Not to mention the prices are excellent. Forget the kids, my husband and I love coming and checking out all the cool stuff. read more

Possibly the best toy store around. With a huge selection of collectibles from Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and more. They also have probably the largest selection of Funko Pop! vinyl figures in BC. Doesn't matter if you are a kid or kid at heart, you will love this place! read more

This is one of the coolest toy stores i've been to. The front area has a variety of toys for younger children where as the back contains toys and collectables for everyone's inner child. They also sell used video games (near the checkout) Staff are friendly and helpful. read more

Could be a great store but as another reviewer stated, Staff manager is extremely rude and ignorant. Prices are way to high to be insulted and accused in front of other customers for returning an unopened item. Maybe a course in customer service is in order. Staff manager is extremely rude, they should hire educated people. Shopping at Crystal Mall my kids found this place interesting, not a second into this store staff asked me: what are you looking for (in a rude tone), I told him my kids wanted to look around...he gave me a weird look with no words for few seconds. I called the kids a we were out of this place. The place could be awesome or the toys cool, but service is crap. Save your time and money, tons of stores out there. read more

Warning: If you are a toy collector or have kids stay very far away. When you drive up it looks like a hole in the wall. They do very little advertising and are tucked in the back of the mall. They also own a store across the mall and don't advertise the fact. The front of the store looks like a normal toy store. You go in the back and you are in trouble. They have all kinds of huge dioramas on the ceiling (ever seen a huge death star blowing up an equally large Borg Cube?), life size Terminator, etc... The store is not cheap. Yes, you will find a slightly lower price and big retailers for the popular stuff. They have good prices for the rest. But you are talking foot tall collectible Darth Vader, 30 year old GI Joe or 4 foot long Bat Mobile. Most of the staff has been there quite a long time and are extremely knowledgeable. They could go on for hours about their favourite items. read more

Awesome!! This place is incredible. It's a nerd museum and geeks heaven. The outside of this place doesn't give a hint of what's on the inside. A little Clark Kent/Superman thing going on. On the outside it looks like a used toy store (which it is), but upon entering it feels like a classic toy store for little kids, but step to the back of the store and your inner child comes alive. The first hint is a display with Yoda and R2D2, but look up towards the ceiling. They have diaramas of Star Wars and GI Joe and Superheros. In Display cases they have small stauettes of of every superhero imaginable, from Spiderman to the Red Hulk. They even have Indiana Jones and Buffy the Vampire Slayer or even Halo. You can buy your favorite superhero action figure or comic or T-shirt. They have every thing a geek could want. Dr. Who stuff, Star Trek stuff, Transformers. Is there a toy that you loved playing with as a child? Your best bet to find it (short of scouring the internet) is this store. If you haven't been to this store it's so worth checking out. This is the coolest store I have ever been to. My girlfriend and I spent an hour in the hot wheels section and I still feel like I missed a few. The staff is excellent and the prices are competitive. The store itself is just amazing in general. It was a great experience and I'll be going there weekly for more hot wheels cars. Just go check it out, you'll find yourself saying "oh my god, i used to have one of these" every 5 minutes. read more

I will start with the disclaimer that I have yet to buy anything from this store. This is no fault of the store, rather I'm not an avid collector, gamer, or whatever. I just wander over on occasion when I visit Princess Auto next door. But...this store is awesome. It's like stepping into some other world. I can see how fanboys (and girls) could get lost in here for hours. Everywhere you look, there will be something to catch your attention. The new location is massive compared to the old, and the retro toys upstairs bring back many memories. As for prices, again I cant comment on whether they are high or low. I know there are some items that have a lot of decimal places in the price...and I'm sure its warranted. But there are super cheap things to feast on as well. Bring your kids and expect to spend some time wandering around. The staff are chatty and gracefully respect my lack of knowledge. They never pressure you to buy and seem be to the types of people who would thrive in this industry...very passionate and knowledgeable. If you guys started selling retro pinball or arcade machines...it would be a dangerous place for me and my wallet. read more

The store looks nice with lots of nice decorations, good for collectors. I think not enough choices for board games though. Prices are also pretty expensive for board games and toys (especially online prices). The staff there are pretty helpful, they also sell used games or toys, but again the prices for used ones are still too much. Overall, nice place to take your kids just to browse around, but compare the prices before you buy from them. read more

Do you like being discriminated against and constantly lied to over the phone? That's what happened to me at Toy Traders. I have always been a loyal customer and big supporter of this store but it seems that lately the manager's greed has gotten the best of him and the store is now run somewhat like a mob. On several occasions I was specifically targeted on a personal level and I have no idea why (whether it's race or just plain spite). They are the kind of business that will flat-out refuse to sell you something at the sticker price marked on the item if they just don't feel like it. They are the kind of business that will tell you something is already sold when you call in only to see it still sitting on the shelf when you're at the store. They are the kind of business that will tell you over the phone that the item you're asking for has gone much higher in price only to see it nowhere near that price range when you're at the store. And when you confront the manager Matthew about all this his response: "you should know better". That mind-set is taught to his employees as well seeing how unfriendly they are and even raise their voice at you like the trading lady did with me. Speaking of trading, don't even think of trading in items that you value because you will get less than half of what they are actually worth. It's sad to say that this store has lost its magic and will forever save me a trip to Langley. read more

This is an awesome store. You can buy used and new toys. My son needs toys for his therapies and most times the toy is used once... now we take them back and trade them in for new ones. This is so cool. You can save money and can feel good about being environmentally responsible. read more

Langley is way too far for me, therefore, I have to miss this. They did appear at this years Fan Expo 2013. They were able to bring a sampling of what the store had to offer to me which was appreciated. Good prices, good selection and awesome staff. read more

The best place in BC for toys, collectibles, and comics! Friendly, knowledgable staff who are always willing to help. They have late night hours too which is great if you're coming after work or have a long drive. Their selection is always changing. It's worth regular visits to check in on rare or vintage stuff. If your a fan of old 80's toys you will love Toy Traders in Langley. They have one of the largest selection of toy collectibles I have seen in BC. They have spent a lot of time on their inventory and display, if your in the area you should really check it out. read more

I have been going to this store since my children were babies; 10 years. I have loved every moment of it. The store has changed a lot over the years but it still has amazing staff, great toys and is an independent retailer. Probably my favourite store of all time. SO MUCH STAR WARS, where can you go wrong with star wars. unfortunatelly they seem to cater to whatever's popular at the time, which is great for some people, but I wish they carried more Doctor Who stuff, a few too much Game of Thrones stuff last time I was there. It's absolutely fantastic store though and I recommend everyone checks it out. read more

I used to come here all the time until I took my business elsewhere when they started jacking up prices to match that of reseller prices online, what a joke. And these are all for retail priced items that had just arrived in their stock. They are pretty much the only 1/6 scale distributor in Vancouver that I personally know of that tries to sell newly released figures based on reseller prices online. Tried to trade in one of my PF before and the quote they gave me I just laughed and took back my statue. No thank you, offering me barely 20 percent of the worth and refusing to give me cash. To all the collectors out there, please do your research on market price of the merchandise you want before handing over the cash, because you will be treated with suspicion upon ANY returns in open view of everyone, and they CAN, and WILL rip you off if you don't do your research of market prices. Pretty much done with this place, there are much MUCH better deals elsewhere. Move along folks. read more

Super-awesome fantastic toy store. By far the best toy shop hands down! Toysrus doesn't even come close. People who work here are knowledgeable, friendly and obviously enjoy their jobs... Great place as sometimes ur kid will only play with a toy once or twice. This place is cheap and trades toys back so its more affordable. I have also seen them sanatize all used toys before they sell them. Great business for parents to go to. read more
