Great store, knowledgeable, friendly and a great selection of comics and more. Worth a visit for any comic enthusiasts!

Due to construction going on in front you must use the rear door to enter the building. I didn't think the store was gonna be very large, but I was super surprised when I walked in and seen how actually big it was! This is the first time I've been there and I had no idea how many different items that they actually carry besides comic books. Action figures, sports cards, Toys, Games, Collectables, there was so much to see! We had come in to purchase plastic card protector sheets. The ones that have 9 slots per page, and typically go into binders. It is so hard to find these anymore ! They weren't cheap ( 30$ for 100 pages ) But they were really good quality. The owner was super friendly and helpful. I would totally return to the store when I have more time to check it out further. You should too! read more

Large selection of back issues. Fairly priced. When I want something, I usually check out Taz first. They are most likely to have what you're looking for. If they don't have it, you probably won't find it anywhere else. If you are looking for incentive covers or special variants, Taz is probably your best bet. Stores only get limited numbers of chase variant covers based on how many regular issues they order. I don't think any store orders as many comics as Taz. Golden Age Collectibles, perhaps? Taz probably has one of the largest collection of back issues in the Lower Mainland. Back issues are bagged and boarded. Price-wise, the back issues might be a bit more expensive than other stores by 25-50 cents, perhaps. But, I've never walked out of Taz feeling ripped off. Prices are competitive. The owner, Keith, is very friendly and knowledgeable. So, feel free to pick his brain and get his opinion. The only downside to this store is that they are sometimes undermanned. Keith often works by himself. So, if it's a busy day, you might have to wait in line to pay. Parking is free in the back. During COVID, customers must enter from the back as the front door is locked. read more

A top notch comic book and card trading store . A treasure trove of new comics and some comic book archives . They have many nostalgic comic book items, toys, collectibles , etc.. a lot of sport cards and game cards like Magic . The store is just big in the realm of comic book stores . One of the top 3 best in the Lower Mainland no question . I found the staff extremely customer friendly and helpful. Free parking in the back of the store . read more

Tazmanian Comics - Comic Books Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Walked in as a first time shopper and left like Tazmanian Comics had been my store for years. Ty

Clean, nostalgic and time well spent is all I ask for in a comic book store. This one hits all these points. No longer do I have to weave my way through towers of comic books stacked higher than I am tall. No more moments where it is almost impossible to find that one comic book employee without having to wonder if I was going to disturb him/her during their final stage combat of some "fill in the blank" quest game. I perused through the store with ease and people working here were visible and were consciously going help you find what you were looking for. There is a section for sport cards, comics, figurine toys, and a subtle area where people gather to play magic or some other card game. Great space and great to spend a lazy afternoon. read more

I bumped into these guys at Fan Expo 2013 this weekend. I have been meaning to get to this location, however, geographically speaking it was a bit far for me, therefore, glad that I was able to hit this up. Their booth had a wide variety of comics and collectibles, a fraction of what the store carries. The guys at the table were super friendly and helpful and the prices were fair. I have seen this store in passing on the way to my hair dresser many times but their hours of operation were weirdly not matched with my hair timing (long story). Good to see a business like this in an area that seriously needs a retail consumer make-over. read more

The new location for Taz comics!! A huge move from their old old spot that they have been for atleast more than 10 years. This is the new place they are at with the same owner!! Pretty excited to finally come here as I was passing by the other day. I had to see their new store. The first thing I realized when I entered the store was that it was HUGE! The store size has pretty much doubled in size and it doesn't seem so clustered anymore. That is a good thing :3 The store still has their HUGE amount of inventory. Not surprised, and everytime I go there I always find something I can buy. I am pretty happy that the owner keeps the store stocked up with comic books and new products to sell!! Now there are LARGE tables in the back of the store, I can really see a nice group of Magic card players and YuGiOh stuff going on there as well. There is parking in the back, so it is still conmvient as ever if you are to drive, since his customers have mostly grown up... Of course the owner is friendly and still nice as ever. I am pretty happy he chose this new location to move to! It is an amazing store. I would come here more often if I had the time to play Magic the Gathering with my friends and have a GREAT time!! :D read more

Over the years I've driven past this place so many times I couldn't even count. I always thought of dropping by but never really had a reason and felt that it was a bit sketchy looking so I just never did until recently. My brother-in-law told me this store had lots of Pop Characters and since I collect/sell them I decided to check it out. It ends up they have a lot more than just Pop Characters. There's comics, sports figures and cards along with memorabilia for all kinds of shows and movies. I can spend a ton of time just walking around and checking out everything they have in stock without even realizing the time. Some of it is so nostalgic and some other stuff is just really cool and modern. I like this shop, the prices are decent and the selection is pretty good. I just wish I didn't feel like such an outsider when I visit lol. read more

I've been shopping at Tazmanian Comics for more than 15 years. The owner knows what I like to read so sometimes he'll put aside issues for me, even if I haven't ordered them, in case I'd like to try a new title. Love their huge, brightly lit store with lots of space to move about. They have a vast inventory of new comics, back issues, toys and collectibles. Friendly and helpful staff. The discounted subscription service is a nice plus too. read more

One of the best places on earth for a grown up kid like me. Love coming in here and being greeted not only by a great staff but also a vibrant community of fellow nerds. Awesome selection of $1 mini comics and lots of opportunities for free posters etc. if you're polite about it. Glad a place like this is open so close to my house and furthermore love whoever operates this tiny paradise. Stay golden. read more

I went in looking for a book they ran out of, and he made two calls and said he'd order in a copy for ~$55. I'm a jerk who thought somewhere else could have a cheaper copy, and kept looking for the book instead of going in and buying it from the guy who proactively said he would order it in. It was $59-$70 everywhere I looked, including the famous Powell's Books in Portland, Oregon. I'm not telling you which book it was because when I was at Powell's, two hipsters laughed me and I am still traumatized. read more

One of the best comic book stores I've ever been to. I'm used to going to Big B Comics in Hamilton Ontario and this place feels very similar. It's how comic book stores should be run. read more

My husband is a total comic book dork and I've been tagging along with him to stores for years now. This place is great! It's well laid out, not crowded and nice to browse through. The owner Keith is a really nice guy and he knew us both by name after only a couple of weeks. My husband loves that he was able to just give them a list of the comics he reads and they will put everything aside for him and give him a discount too (and yes, they do apply a proper discount). I was impressed because I'm used to being "just the wife" in these places and usually ignored. Not here though. Keith suggested a comic for me and gave me an issue to read. It was awesome. I read comics now too lol. They also do special orders if you need back issues etc and will even trade with other stores to get you what you're looking for. read more

I've been frequenting this shop since I got back into comics a few years ago. I've since moved out of the neighbourhood, but I still make out here for my purchases. Aside from the chipper staff and good selection, it's great to go into a comic shop where you don't have to slink through to avoid knocking over random stacks of things! Everything is laid out very well, with a big assortment of back issues and deals. Well worth checking out to feed your nerdy vices! read more

I've been shopping here since October 1986 (Uncanny X-Men 210 was my first comic). When I've been actively reading comics, I have been a pull list customer at three different times, and even after 5+ year breaks, the owner Keith still remembered me and what I collected. While I appreciate climbing thru back issues piled high, there's something to be said for going to a clean, well lit and well organized comic store. read more

What a great store, every time I go here the guy who I assume owns the place always treats me really good. Good conversation and good selection. Thanks for the free Luongo card!. read more

I've been coming here since a little kid at the old location. In fact it was probably the first store I shopped in when I moved to Burnaby. I remember it fondly, they had X-men #1 in the bargain box for $0.99 (the 90's uncanny X-men). Keith, the store owner has treated me kindly since I was a child and through highschool and Taz has always been an oasis through some turbulent times as a teen. Its great to see this store in the larger location it is in now with free parking in the back. They have a large inventory of comics and sports memorabilia. Its nice to see the old Magic the gathering and other card game tables in the back. They have a lot of toys too! If you're looking for a unique gift for someone this place is it. From Star wars, to Disney, to Marvel, DC, the independent comic publishers and Sports cards and memorabilia Tazmanian Comics has it. They have an extensive Sports card section. I remember Keith giving me some of the best business advice I have ever received. An item is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. As far as comics and collectibles go, Tazmanian comics pretty much has something to suit everyone's price range. read more

Fantastic store! Huge, much bigger than I remember, great selection of toys and comics

Tazmanian (now Taz) Comics has been in the business for an insane amount of time, and it shows. This new location is huge, and they finally have room to showcase all their amazing inventory. The store has an amazing selection of comics plus a mountain of other related merchandise. Everything is organized, nicely laid out, and accessible. This store kills the old stereotype of the "scary dark comicstore" with the "pretentious rude" staff. It's the polar opposite -- a bright friendly place and Keith is probably one of the nicest business owners I've ever met. Go here if you want to see real customer service and spend some money. Businesses like this really deserve to succeed, and I wish them well. read more

After searching the lower mainland for a comic store, Taz by far exceeds any of them. A great place with tons of selection for all types of comic, game, and sport related items. Along with an amazingly friendly staff and simple layout, its the place I go to get my comics and figures. If you are looking for something in particular, they are able to order it for you with no extra charge and hold certain items for an amount of time. Due to the Canadian dollar, prices have slightly risen, but hopefully once it gets better, it will return to normal. read more

perfect！Bf really likes it.........wish the shipping was faster..........and it is so especially beautiful。I realy realy love it.

Even though they seem friendly, their Discount club is a farce. i used to go out of my way to patron there. having a pull box, you are promised a 15% discount for giving them a "guaranteed" sale. it wasn't until i switch shops for a better location i noticed that there was no "deal" at Taz's at all. turns out that i was "saving" 0.02$ on every copy. i.e. 2.99$ = tax - discount came to 3.33$ instead of 3.35$. Fool on me for never noticing though i must mention that i usually bought more that one comic at a time and trusted their word, especially since they always mentioned that i was getting the discount at the time of purchase. Either everyone's math was wrong or, from what i've heard afterwards, they are selective on who, in their "discount club" actually gets the discount. Now i shop at Rx and haven't looked back since. will only use Taz for back issues if needed BUT only after i've exhausted all the other shops first. Major loss of Confidence. Imagine all the comics i could have bought. for every 10 comics, i would have gotten one free for the price i paid at Taz if only i was shopping at RX. read more
