If they don't have it, you probably won't find it anywhere else. If you are looking for incentive covers or special variants, Taz is probably your best bet. Stores only get limited numbers of chase variant covers based on how many regular issues they order. I don't think any store orders as many comics as Taz. Golden Age Collectibles, perhaps? Taz probably has one of the largest collection of back issues in the Lower Mainland. Back issues are bagged and boarded. Price-wise, the back issues might be a bit more expensive than other stores by 25-50 cents, perhaps. But, I've never walked out of Taz feeling ripped off. Prices are competitive. The owner, Keith, is very friendly and knowledgeable. So, feel free to pick his brain and get his opinion. The only downside to this store is that they are sometimes undermanned. Keith often works by himself. So, if it's a busy day, you might have to wait in line to pay. Parking is free in the back. During COVID, customers must enter from the back as the front door is locked.

Even for this able bodied person, it was challenging to navigate through the piles and piles of unorganized merchandise. The shelves are stacked to the ceiling yet fearfully on the verge of tipping over. The manager presumably owner is a unique individual who knows his products and enjoys his shop as a labor of love. I asked if he had any CGCs of Amazing Spider-Man #300 and New Mutants #98 for sale and he told me he could call a friend of his to bring them in. He refused to let me see them without first agreeing to buy them sight unseen. He called me "anal" for wanting to see them before buying them and added, "I've been doing this for 20 years and the only guy I've dealt with who was more anal than you was a guy who paid $20,000 for a worthless copy of Molten Man." Maybe he prefers it when he can sell overpriced stuff to people? Refused to offer proof of the books- such as the CGC numbers or asking his friend for photos of the books. Said grader notes didn't matter. It's a wild messy store with a lot of cool comic books. But I'll take my business elsewhere.

I loved that people were encouraged to stay in the store and you could also have a drink at the Starbucks within then. It reminded me very much of Barnes and Noble in the old days. Through the years the store has changed and you can get more than books here. There are home decor and gadgets, babies and women accessories. I still come here once in a while but I find myself buying more home stuff here rather than books. In my bid to reduce my books collection at home, I have pretty much switch to ebooks or borrow books from the library. I still love the feel of holding a book in my hands so it has to be a very special book or something I really want to keep to make a hard copy purchase. At my last visit, I noticed the Starbucks in the store has closed. Very unfortunate. Before covid, you could also park outside in the outdoor parking lot and enter from the side door. Right now it is closed, so you can only enter from inside the mall. Oh and you can sign up and get for plum points on the app. You get birthday discount and rewards when you chalk up enough points. Or pay for a membership and get discount on every purchase.

The "coffee bar" is a laugh, and since they have it there, they don't let people bring in their Starbucks or whatever while they look around. They try to be "renaissance" by having music events and classes and suchlike, but they should probably just take a good hard look at their store and their selection and focus on being a good used bookstore.

started getting my comics here, after not buying them for years. i probably spent easily over $130…read morehere 4 months. i canceled my account after only being with them for 4 months. i had a list of comics for them to order me and every month they kept away in a pile for safe keeping in turn i had to give them a deposit so they could hold on to it for me. i was following a crossover in the marvel world so i was collecting a comic event. and the owner gave away one of my copy's to another customer thinking he could replace it. It was a comic that was limited printed. the owner could not replace it after giving him 3 months to do the right thing and get me a copy of it. he couldn't find it and i could never find it at any other comic book store. CUSTOMER LOYALTY is not this owner strength for new clients. So obviously i canceled my account after that; received no apology or even a "hey i screwed up you can have a few comics for free". Even canceling my account to get my deposit back was a hassle. i tried to cancel it with on of the owners employees and he refused to give me my money back; said that he wasn't comfortable canceling my account, and i would have to wait until the owner was in a few days later to get my money back and cancel it.
