    Chicken parm and grandma

I fly for a living and come to Lorenzo's all the way from Houston every few months. The owner is super nice and pizza is excellent! This place in North Houston would do circles around the crap we have. Love their cheese slices, chicken parm and of course grandma. Keep up the good work. Love you guys! David the airline pilot guy.

Went there for the first time in order to gyros and take a look at the picture. The Gyro meat is old. The pizza is salty. The lettuce was brownish

Photo of the HORRIBLE PIZZA i bought at Lorenzos of st james. Do yourself a favor & buy a box of Ellios at supermarket instead!

The pizza's better than most I've tried around the area and the prices you can't beat.

If you are looking for everything that makes a true New York pizzeria special, Gino's of Nesconset…read moreabsolutely delivers. From the second you walk in, you get that classic NY pizzeria feel. The aroma of fresh pizza hits you immediately, the display cases are packed with options, and there is that comforting neighborhood energy that makes you feel like you have been coming here for years even if it is your first visit. The variety is exactly what you would hope for and more. Rows of specialty slices, classic cheese and pepperoni, Sicilian squares, gourmet pies, heroes, pasta dishes, and so many appetizers it is almost impossible to choose. Everything looks fresh and made with care, not just thrown together. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The staff were incredible. Friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming. They move quickly but still take the time to answer questions and make recommendations. That balance of efficiency and warmth is something you only really find in great New York spots. And the food. Absolutely outstanding. The crust had that perfect NY texture, crisp on the outside with just the right chew. The sauce was flavorful without overpowering the cheese, and the toppings were generous and fresh. Every bite tasted exactly how a real New York slice should taste. This is the kind of place you bring friends from out of town when they say they want "real New York pizza." Five stars all the way.

Where do I even begin. Been driving past this place forever and always wanted to stop but hadn't…read more What an IDIOT I am for that decision. Came here for lunch earlier this week. I am blown away. First by the people. It's a family owned spot, father & daughter were working. Son I believe works there too. Just salt of the earth type people. Friendly from the moment I walked in. Conversational and easy, in no way overbearing. Not salesy. Just genuinely, good people. Asked what to order, what he recommended. And boy, he lit up when he started telling me about the dishes. A true nod to the care taken in the recipes and the cooking. I ended up grabbing beef empanadas and some steak tacos. I took my order to go but they made me and extra empanada to have while I was waiting for the rest of the order. Corn tortillas. Soft but crispy. Not oily in the slightest. These empanadas were like eating pure happiness. I'm fairly sure they put magic in the green sauce too. Went out to the car and couldn't wait so I ate right there in the lot. The tacos were fresh; cilantro as if it was pulled right from the vine and placed in the box. Steak was juicy but not all drippy onto my hands messy. The diced onions were the flavor bomb it needed to finish off the massive enjoyment that was my lunch. Hot sauce on the side wasn't overwhelming to the point of ruining the taste. Price was super fair. Staff was memorably pleasant. Food was banging. If you're driving by this spot, don't make the same mistake I did. Stop immediately and grab yourself and bite. It's worth it.

The owners father is super friendly and the man HUSTLES. Prices were fair, and the outdoor seating makes you feel like you're on vacation. The food overall wasn't great though. Burrito, tacos, nachos, papusa's were all good but definitely not the best compared to some other local options. Burrito was on the smaller side and lacking meat, tacos were small too for the price. Overall we decided we'd definitely come back, but it's not going to be our go to (yet), the food was just a little bland and portions weren't great. Things could change, but I hope these guys do well here it's apparent they're trying.

Between the warm, cozy atmosphere and a live band playing, it felt festive without being chaotic. It's exactly what you want during the holidays. We went full "let's share everything" mode, starting with the Wood-Fired Artichoke-Spinach Dip Pizzetta, and wow. Spinach, artichokes, béchamel, shaved parm, mozzarella, garlic dressing, and baby arugula all working together in perfect harmony. Easy 10/10. I'm still thinking about it and already planning my next visit just to order it again. Next up was the crab rangoon dip, which was rich, indulgent, and dangerously good. Followed by the beer cheese jumbo pretzel. They wee soft, salty, and exactly what you want alongside drinks. Zero regrets. We wrapped things up with the Kung Pao Cauliflower Bites, and they were such a pleasant surprise. The tempura cauliflower stayed crispy, the General Tso's-style sauce had just the right balance of sweet and heat, and the cashews, sesame seeds, and scallions added great texture. Drink-wise, we shared a bottle of wine from their solid selection, but I also have to shout out their massive cocktail menu, so many options that I'll definitely be back to explore it properly next time. The cherry on top? We made our reservation on Yelp . Between the food, drinks, live music, and overall atmosphere, Husk and Vine was a total win for a night out. Can't wait to return!

Pressed the I'm Here button, said food will be out shortly. Waited and waited and no one brought out our food. It was ready and just sitting in the restaurant and was cold by the time we got home, no apology, nothing. Never again, very disappointed as we go here often. This was the Commack location, not Lake Grove. Don't offer curbside if you aren't willing to bring your customers their food. I need to edit this review because I spoke to the manager at this location today and he was more than gracious to us and went above and beyond to resolve what happened yesterday. Thank you so much to Anthony.

The host was mopping the host stand so we had to maneuver around the waiting area while waiting for our whole party to arrive. It was unusually busy, maybe because a game was on, and service was a lot slower than usual. Our waiter was very nice regardless and got everything correct, just took a while to get his attention sometimes. Otherwise, eating here is as nice as ever, and seemed clean. As I mentioned, we went here to try this new burger. My friend and I both agreed that it wasn't bad, but the queso really didn't add much to the burger flavor, just made the bun soggy. The burger was very good on its own, and I will just order that alone next time. Unfortunately, after dinner, I was left with a major stomach ache that lasted throughout the night. My friend, who didn't have dessert, had the same issue. I will definitely not be ordering this again and can't recommend it! Otherwise, this is a spot I have been to many times and will visit again. It's local, the food is overall good when you stick to the basics, ambiance is clean and cozy, and the staff is great.

Onto the negatives.... The waitress was absolutely horrific. It took 25-30 minutes for her to even realize we were there. You'd think after that mistake she'd be more attentive.... Nope. The table next to us was also getting a little irritated. I ordered the special spicy rigatoni and chicken cutlet. The sauce was very good and mildly spicy but the chicken was tough and not good. Actually tasted old. My husband had the skirt steak and said it was a bit fatty and just OK. Ordered a second margarita but it never came... they didn't charge for it but still annoying. It was pretty busy in there but by the time we left it emptied out. They charge 4% fee if you use a credit card which I found a bit steep compared to other establishments. All in all, I'd try them again for just drinks and apps and maybe check out the bar area. The outside looks super nice to enjoy weather depending. They open at 10am and happy hour is 10am-5pm.
