Very often specialist shops can have staff that think they are über cool for working there - not here, eager to help without being intrusive, and they chat to you about the product without trying to get you to buy - which is great - they provide the info and let you come to your own decision. This doesn't seem to be an exclusive to the Birmingham store - the Manchester one is similar. I'd thoroughly reccomend 10/10.

However they have everything in here, with a great selection to suit any budget. I pooped in for some cycling gear and running gear, took me about 45 mins to look through the stuff and then I got distracted seeing what other sports I could take up. Its simple to navigate around the store, clearly labelled signs on each isle, discounts and sales at the ends, mens clothes on one side or down one isle and women's on the other - simples! Theres a fantastic selection of accessories for your sport too. Checking out is just as cool as supermarkets...self scan and all the items have a bar code in them, so doesn't matter if the tag has fallen off. These machines only accept cards but there is a person at a till too for those technophobes and money carriers :)

It's an improvement in my opinion now that every is now based on one site rather split between two adjoining locations, it just a work better as before things where just that bit too spread out. Unlike some other retailers with stores in the UK, what you get in one Decathlon is the same as any other Decathlon store in UK which is reassuring. Prices in store cover every budget for example you can spend a few hundred on a bike or several thousand. The wide range of tents is one of the key strengths of Decathlon. In my experience the staff are all friendly although there could do with being just a few more. All in all though a very good store and well worth checking out.

I came in here for a quick browse at the latest fashion, The North Face is mainly a brand of high-quality outdoor gear for those who aren't aware of the brand. The staff in the store didn't seem too friendly or helpful, compared to other stores where staff are normally really friendly and down to a chat about the products and more. I did find the selection lacked a little, the store didn't seem empty it just seemed to be more stock of the same or similar items than usual but I guess that could be down to summer approaching and in many ways, The North Face is surely a brand for the winter. 2*

I love looking round army and navy type stores but be warned this place only has the occasional used military surplus item but they do seem to have more than they can fit in their shop if you check the website. If you are looking for tactical webbing type stuff then you can find it here and they have a range of items for kids who may want to start role playing after having played too much Call of Duty. This is a great way to see a wide range of air soft guns and cross bows. Unless you are buying off a website or a dodgy looking car boot it can be hard to see what you are really getting or find anywhere that you can go check them out. Here you can.

You will not find any football shirts at Sports Box which will disappoint football fans. In fact there are no sports teams shirts in the shop. No doubt this will have an impact on whether customers visit Sports Box or not. There are plenty of clothes on offer at Sports Box for children ranging from jackets to t-shirts to coats etc. I'm not sure adults would want to buy sporting wear from Sports Box and to be frank I would not blame them for going elsewhere. Don't get me wrong the staff do make you feel welcomed and will help you if you need their assistance but I would say Sports Box is aimed at more children and teenagers rather than adults.
