This place is sports kit heaven - and that's spoken as someone who used to dread Sports Day at school and has only just joined a gym aged 30! It's got all sorts of clothing and accessories to get yourself kitted up for your sport of choice, from ski poles to wetsuits to backpacks to footy boots. Staff seem happy to help out, and I saw one shopper being put on a treadmill for gait analysis to help him buy the right running shoes.
My fave bits are:
1) it's organised! Given the size of the place there's high potential for it to descend into primark-esque chaos, but every aisle is clearly labelled with the relevant sport, and the stock all seems to stay where it's supposed to be.
2) it's great value for money. I ran my first ever half marathon for charity this weekend (eek!), so was after a bum bag to keep my phone/energy tablets in. The range was quite limited but I found a brightly coloured one I liked for just £6.50. Plus I couldn't resist throwing in a lush coral-coloured sports bra - a steal at only £4.
3) it's got lovely soft hoodies in the skiiing section, so have a look even if you can't ski to save your life.
Well worth a visit if you're missing a bit of kit and don't want to risk the online shop without seeing it. Parking is free too. Would just recommend you allow a bit of extra time for when you get distracted on the way to the tills... read more
