I went in to drop off several suits for dry cleaning and to do laundry at the laundromat that they own next door. I carried an arm full of suits to the dry cleaning desk and had a decent interaction with the woman there, although the price she quoted was high than the ones listed on the wall. For the record, it was about $100 in services for my dry cleaning alone. Before I went to get the rest of my laundry from my car, I entered the laundromat to get quarters for the laundry I was about to do. As I left, I was greeted by the front desk woman from next door who proceeded to accuse me of stealing from them for taking quarters and leaving. While, I can understand that this would be an issue for a small business, she wouldn't consider any other explanation than I was a thief. At that point I was offended by her accusation and I told her I would like my dry cleaning back and will take it somewhere else. Back next door, the owner who had sent her over to talk to me also proceeded to call me a liar and a thief for stealing from his customers. Apparently they don't consider people using their dry cleaning services as customers nor do they understand what stealing means, as I had used a change machine to exchange dollar bills for quarters. This I was my first (and last) experience with Towne. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone if this is how their "customers" are treated. read more

Shoutout to Townes Cleaners. I got a chicken grease stain on my work pants. The first place i took it to didnt do anything to remove it. Townes Cleaners put way more effort into trying to remove the stain and it shows. The individuals that work there are courteous as well. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! Firstly, they only accept cash or check. As I am NOT from Albany I do not have a bank here so I have to pay with a check. The check has my actual address on it which is not an Albany address and the lady at the front very rudely insisted I give her an address from here or she will not accept my check and give me my clothes. She does not need any temporary addresses, the check has my phone number. What is she going to do? Track down the house and come demand it if the check is bad? VERY RUDE and shady. SECONDLY, the clothing piece was a black suit jacket and it was returned in the same condition I gave them to it. There were still very noticeable white marks on it. I paid a lot more than the usual price and was not given the service for which I took it to them in the first place for. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! read more

Towne Cleaners are an exceptional Dry Cleaning Service. I am often very skeptical of dry cleaners and the quality of work they do, but with Towne Cleaners, they nail it everytime. You really get a sense that they take pride in their work. Blending professionalism, with expertise, they have ALWAYS done a brilliant job in cleaning my garments. From high end silk, to denim and suiting, they make sure that each piece comes back looking it's best and smelling fresh. Unlike many cleaners I've come across, at Towne Cleaners the clothes don't have that residual smell upon pickup, which lends itself to quality care. After stopping at 3 different laundromats (which shockingly had 5 star ratings on here) in town finding 0 employees in sight, I called Towne Cleaners for a wash and fold service. They answered right away and assured me they could do the job. The employees were delightful, kind and friendly. My belongings were ready on time, washed and folded perfectly. Everything smelled amazing and it was for a very good price. I'm a college kid and my laundry felt/smelled like home. Wouldn't go anywhere else around here. read more

Nice people that work there. They're cash only so don't show up with your debit card. I brought a pair of pants there that I had hemmed with hemming tap. The tape left a weird stain in one spot on the bottom of the pants. I thought maybe they'd be able to get the stain out. Instead a similar stain is now all the way around the bottom of both pant legs. Reaction with the tape?? The initial stain was a little improved. Maybe they'd do better with your classic red sauce and wine stains..... read more

This is the WORST dry cleaner in Albany! I took in two (2) almost-new dresses that needed cleaning and spot removal and was told by one of the owners to give them a week and the dresses would be ready. When I picked up the dresses, one looked relatively better but the second dress looked as though it had not been touched. All of the original spots were still visible without even the slightest fading or improvement. When I questioned the woman (the other owner) whether she knew why NONE of the spots were removed her response was simply that they "have no guarantees" and that it was "very difficult to press my dress." My dress didn't even need any pressing; it only needed the spot cleaning. She went on to accuse me, very rudely, about being too ignorant to know how the dry cleaning business works. Well, in the case of Towne Cleaners, it doesn't work at all apparently. She then told me that she was "done talking" to me, told me to leave, and shooed me out the door with her hand. Quite honestly, if she had said "I'm sorry; we tried to get the spots out but were unsuccessful" I would have thanked her for trying, paid the fee and left. In this economy, I don't understand how a small business thinks it can afford to be rude to its customers. I highly recommend that you NEVER use this dry cleaner. read more
