I was told by another business that my entire exhaust was rusted out and needed replacement--to the tune of possibly costing, thousands of dollars! Town Tire was recommended to me by a random customer who overheard my dilemma, while at the other shop... And boy, am I glad I listened to him! From the very first phone call, Town Tire was VERY professional and attentive. They returned my inquiry quickly, with a fair price quote. Thankfully for me, my car was repaired and ready for pick up -- SAME DAY that it was towed to them--AND at a much lower price, than I was quoted. Turns out, my car was not as damaged as I was originally told... And Town Tire was HONEST about that! They absolutely could've told me anything-- and I would've been none the wiser! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE!!!! Made an appointment on Thursday for break repair on Saturday, and was the second person at the shop on Saturday morning. I dropped my car off at 7:30 am and didn't receive a call until 12pm. At this time Roger advised I needed brake pads and rotors and the vehicle should be ready by 2pm if I elect to have the work done. I never received a call so I caught a ride to the shop and arrived at approximately 2:30pm. Upon arrival Roger advised they were still working on it. After sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes I decided to take a look outside to see if my vehicle was ready. The vehicle was on the lift with all four tires on and NOBODY working on it. I walked back inside the waiting room and a female (very rude and lacking customer service skills) rudely said oh it's gonna be another 2 hours and walked away as I tried to speak with her. She then came back and I asked to speak with Roger. She replied he's busy doing something else and rudely walked away. I went outside and found Roger who did nothing but shake his head and apologize advising his workers did everything he told them not to do (whatever the heck that means), but when I arrived Roger told me they were working on it but that was obviously a lie. Roger had nothing else to offer but my car keys and after 8 hours wasted I'm still stuck needing brakes. read more

i just got out of Town and Tire (TT) and i think this is the best $450 i spent. my wife just yesterday hit a pot whole which resulted in a flat front tire. i took this tire to TT and the guy told me that looks like we'll need a new tire, which made sense to me. The next day i brought the car (2011 Toyota Prius, 175K miles) to them. Roger explained that the device which is used for the tire signal to the dash board ($90 each) is bad at this tire. Later they found that the rear left tire device is also bad. Meantime it was found that the flat tire does not need a new tire, so i decided to buy the above said devices ($180). Then my wife remember that the windshield wipers are bad, and TT found an air filter with a hole... As said, I was happy to walk away with $450. Roger was polite and patient to explain in details all that was happening. I will certainly will go back to TT. read more

Although a friendly and accommodating tire shop, and my previous positive experience, here is my unfortunate update for this business. They replaced my front tires and said the rear ones were still good for another10k miles - ok. A few days later, I completely lost control of my car spinning wildly across three lanes of the NJ Turnpike at highway speeds. Luckily due to light traffic, there were no oncoming vehicles (like semis or dump trucks) or else I would have been killed. By just dumb luck I managed to regain control of my car and I pulled off onto the right shoulder without incident. No ice or snow was observed on the road and I was driving a fairly new car in the winter. I checked the back tires - they were as bald as the shop owner's head! Turns out their lazy staff never looked at the back tires, which also required replacement at the same time as the front, and this was the reason I lost control of my car. Apparently they can't be trusted to do their job. I went to a different tire shop and they showed me that not only were the rear tires bald, but the new driver's side front tire bought at Town Tire, had been placed on backwards! In other words the side of the tire that was facing out, should have been installed so it was on the interior/engine side of the car. The tread is designed to face the other way. This idiot's mistake created poor handling, less traction, and excessive tire noise. There are arrows on the sidewall indicating which side should be placed so the tread is installed correctly. Arrows and this obvious error are beyond stupidity. The free Keurig coffee and tv in the waiting room are not worth such incompetence and risking your life. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I dropped my vehicle off at this shop around 9am and was told I could leave it and pick it up in the afternoon. I didn't receive a call until around 4:50pm and was told my car had not been worked on. They then asked if I could leave my car there overnight or bring it by the next morning. I just took my keys and left. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I ended up going to the oil change garage next door and was out of there in about 20 minutes. Don't even bother with this place. read more

I am just disgusted!!!! I live a block away from Town Tire. I was in need of service and called on a Saturday at approximately 2:45pm. Other places were closed already and I was stuck about 40 mins away. I was attempting to set up for service - it was about 90 miutes before the shop was suppose to close. I understand that it's Saturday and of course everyone wants to go home however, that is no excuse for rude, disrespectful and discourteous customer service. I called and unfortunately got Roger on the phone. I asked very politely if the shop can possibly take care of the issue today. A simple "I'm, sorry we can't today, we are closing soon" would have been sufficient. But instead I got a nasty comeback of "NO-WAY" followed by an "absolutely not!", followed by a hang up. WTH???? Bad day Roger?? I was so taken back and upset I called back and was met with a "hold on" as it was apparent he was on another call at the time. I just can't believe that this is what our customer service has become- hopefully Roger finds a bottle of Midol and takes a course in proper manners and the meaning of quality customer service and the outcome of poor customer service. Any other place where I've asked for a battery check, they've done it for free. Not here. The mechanic who checked it said that the battery was fine. I was ready to say thank yo and walk out, but turned back to ask the manager what the price of a new battery would be for future reference. I noticed on their board that they charge $29.xx for battery inspection. I thought ok, I'll have to pay that. Then I see the manager gives me a bill for $53!!! I asked the manager why the inflated charge, when they list $29.xx for a battery check. He said the bill included testing electric charging systems. Draw your on conclusions. Town tire had repaired a tire for another vehicle last time I was happy with work. This week I needed a tire replaced for my F150. I was happy with the service however the price of the tire I feel was a bit high by at least $50 including the tax. I did check online and the tire could of been shipped to Town Tire Center for $14 through Good Year site after wards. I was told with the shipping the tire would be the same amount as if I purchased by Town Tire. That was the deciding factor when I was told with that with shipping cost the online price would be the same. So out of convenience and being there I decided to purchase through Town Tire. Not a smart buying decision should had it shipped to the shop. read more

So had a slow leak for a couple of days, Googled and found Town Tire pretty close by and boy was it a priceless find. Walked in to find Roger at the front desk who immediately had my tire checked and diagnosed with a cracked rim causing a slow leak. What made Town Tire and Roger so impressive was that when they figured out my issue and told me it would take just a day to fix, I was scrambling to figure out a way home being Monday afternoon and husband at work. They were kind enough to volunteer me a ride home. They certainly didn't have to, it wasn't their problem but they saw a stressed out girl concerned about work the next day (yeah right) they fed me free donuts and coffee (my ass thanks them) got me home and let me pick up my car after my work day so I didn't miss a thing (yay). They fixed my rim, never gave me the business of needing a whole new rim and tire and God knows what else which cost me alot less than the dealership would have cost me. I would rather pay for my oil changes from now on than get them for free at Cadillac and not get the same homey, trusting service I got from Town Tire. They treated me like a long time customer my very first time. I quickly realized after picking up my car with other patrons that they treat everyone this way. I have taken multiple cars I own there in the last few months for repairs and general maintenance. I've found Roger to be ethical with reasonable prices. I even brought my daughters car in when she was home from spring break and asked them to check the alignment and see if it needed any other preventative maintenance work. They checked it out and everything was fine. He didn't even charge me for the time when I dropped it off. No doubt I would use them again. read more
