this place used to be nice, now it is really run down. I saw 5 different rooms and they were all falling apart and dirty. the 5th one was good enough, and I had to settle because after spending an hour flipping between rooms I had to get for my evening plans. And when I was in the middle elevator going to the 26th floor, it stopped at 18for no reason, there was smell of smoke, the elevator dropped and said 17, I pressed 16 to get out and the doors immediately opened and it was the 16th floor...so it dropped 2 floors. when I told the front desk they didn't seem to concerned. I'll never be coming back here again. and it's ashame because I've been here many many times over the years.

Replacing cranks on our last morning cause we asked them to close the windows.

Worst hotel we have EVER stayed in. Too bad I can't post pictures. we posted another review on Trip Advisor. I should have copied And pasted to here. We were in a two bedroom "suite" . Pictures are very deceiving. Mold, peeling wallpaper and drywall, lint covered fan vent which didn't work, and pubic hair in the bathtub. Hundreds of bugs in the light over the dining table. The table was so bad we had to have it replaced. we had to buy utensils at the dollar store because there was none. we asked for more cutlery. we also had to ask for dish soap and dish towels because there was none. The cranks in the living area were all broken and maintenance came up and took the screens off so they could push them open. Bed linen was stained with some sort of pink markers or something. We were told to dump our own garbage when we asked for housekeeping to come change garbages. overall cleanliness not there. We took our notes/concerns to the front desk and all they did was offer us to change rooms after the second day. She just didn't seem to care. My mother uses a Walker and it would not be feasible for us to move for one night. who knows if we would have gotten a worse room. The beds are hard as rocks. So bad my body parts were falling asleep and my husband's back is aching. DO NOT STAY HERE

This is probably one of the few pet friendly hotels in Toronto

I was actually really impressed by my stay here. I came here in November and booked a room after searching for a last minute deal on Google from YVR in Vancouver and this place came up and fit my budget. My friend picked me up from the Toronto Pearson Airport and we checked in. Now, I did not know that I had to pay for overnight parking...but it was only about $40/night including taxes but still with the rate I got-$192 including taxes, this was still cheaper than most of the other hotels in Toronto for literally a hotel I had booked 6 hours before hand during the weekend of the Santa Clause parade. What I was impressed with was the size of my room and the King Sized bed-I had a King suite. I guess I was lucky to get one of the newer renovated rooms based on reading the other reviews here. I also had a decent view (I didn't get a picture of that but I did get to the roof of the building to explore the separate and unrelated gym upstairs.) Having breakfast here in the morning and a kitchen really helped me save money on my trip. I would actually book here again the next time I am here except that I would call the hotel directly because I noticed afterwards on their website you get an extra discount by booking directly instead of booking through a travel site. I guess the only downside, if you could call it that, was that the TV was locked and I could not stream my Netflix from my phone via Blue tooth to it. (I remember trying for awhile to do that based on the instructions in the room and should have called downstairs but just gave up and enjoyed my free wifi instead on my phone.) In terms of location, I was able to walk in the snow all the way to CN tower and up to Kensington market from here but I stopped a lot to watch the Santa clause parade so I couldn't tell you how long it takes to walk anywhere from here. I do remember my Uber being about $25 to get to the nightlife district on King St. from here, which wasn't too bad. I actually quite enjoyed my stay here and would recommend you book through their website to get a discount instead of through a travel site (mention the deal you saw on the travel site and I think on their website it says they will beat that price by 10% subject to a few terms-basically that is is for the exact same dates and amenities-just go to their site to read about that.) Breakfast was mostly baked goods, yogurt, apples and bananas which was included with my booking. Their kitchen includes pots and pans and enough utensils to cook lamb/steak and vegetables so if you would like to cook in your hotel room to save you money, this hotel has you covered. Also, if it matters to you, this hotel is also pet friendly! This hotel made my last minute trip very affordable and memorable. The staff are friendly, the parking is in and out, they have a continental breakfast and a kitchen and the hotel is pet friendly. For that, I give this my 5 stars and look forward to coming back the next time I'm in town.

The room was just bad I was told I'd get an upgrade with a "renovated room" I don't even want to know what the old ones looked like... SO overpriced, for $30 more I could have stayed at the Sheraton which is MUCH nicer and closer to downtown. Only chose this place because it said they had balconies but come to find out they're permanently locked!!! The only good thing was the kitchen with a full stove& fridge but I didn't need to use for a short stay but wouldn't want to be here for an extended stay for sure.

This is the hideous stove that was in my room. :(

I played myself by booking this hotel at the last minute and not reading reviews like I usually do. It was an incredibly unfortunate experience for me. I'll admit it's my fault that my expectations were based on the website and I didn't do my research to see which room types were pictured there. The Room- Bad Junior Suite Queen and Double Bed Based on the pictures from the website, I was expecting stainless appliances, wall decor and a few other very basic amenities (like a clean floor or a hook in the bathroom). Unfortunately, I was placed in a room that was very poorly cared for. The epoxy on the bath tub was peeling off. Much of the paint was warped and chunky. There wasn't a single piece of decor and the STOVE!!! I laughed when I saw it. This stove had to have been made in the 1940's. There's no way I would have eaten anything from it. For a moment, I was happy to see a keurig and knew I could at least have a cup of coffee. However, when I opened the water compartment, there was some sort of residue inside that caused me to slam it shut and back away. So coffee is out. In the bedroom The Gym- Bad I went to have a workout and the "gym" had only cardio equipment a stairmill (broken), two treadmills (one was extremely loud) and a Crossramp, which couldn't incline due to "Low Battery". There was also a spinbike, but I didn't have proper shoes for it. The Staff- OK The staff was just ok. The were very friendly and polite, which should have been a good thing, but it annoyed me that they were smiling and nodding as if they didn't know that their "Gym" was a joke or that my room was horrible. Overall, I was very upset with myself for booking without really looking and I hated this experience. It wasn't too pricey but also wasn't cheap enough for the experience I had either. If you book, here DO NOT expect stainless appliances and contemporary design. You won't find it.

    Horrible floors

The pictures are catfish, the floor are extremely dirty with what looks like pee stains. The furniture is all scratched up, marks all over the walls, glasses so foggy I didn't wanna put any drinks in them. Paying for wifi on top of paying 354 for ONE NIGHT. You can definitely tell that this use to be a run down old apartment that they tried to turn around with just a few coats of paint and some new appliances. No Netflix on the tv (even if you wanna log in your own account) nothing interesting just basic news, if you're here with a family. You'll be very bored

Roger's Stadium (Blue Jays), CN Tower and convention center were all in walking distance. I actually arrived early but my status was recognized and my room was ready. Staff were very friendly and responsive throughout my stay. I was upgraded to a one bedroom which was welcomed. The room was large and comfortable. Better than the family's last stay in SoCal. The only room issue i had was the location of the in room safe. It was on the top shelf of the closet and the closet door blocked the safe door from opening fully. The other issue was 1 out of 3 elevators was offline the entire stay. It did make the waits a little longer. On the second floor was a very small gym but it did have a multifunction weight gym and cardio equipment. A water dispenser was located here. The heated indoor pool and spa was in the room next door. Breakfast was decent with a rotating menu over my stay. Scrambled eggs, omelettes, pork or turkey sausages, egg bites, seasoned potatoes, etc were some of the hot offerings. Cereals, breads and prepackaged yogurts were some of the cold items. They had both regular and oat milk which was nice. One note was that you have to provide your name and room before being admitted. There was a good amount of seating and was never crowded. In the evening the bar was open. Would come back and stay here again.

They especially enjoyed looking out the large window at the convention center, CN Tower and Lake Ontario. It was also nice having the extra (1.5) bathroom. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on and the housekeeping staff was almost invisible (a good thing). Since we got club level, it was convenient to grab food and snacks in the club lounge. Quite kid friendly, although with toddlers we were a bit self-conscious of our kids being too loud and messy. You can imagine my terror when my 18 month old threw a cup of milk on the lounge carpet. Luckily, the lounge staff is wonderful and welcoming and were very understanding of this mishap. The pool is very nice and heated. A little less picturesque than the St. Regis pool (which is located on a high floor) and smaller than the Shangri-La pool but still very nice. There are other amenities that are good for kids such as a free treasure hunt, complete with a prize at the end. Ritz Kids also has other paid activities that we did not do like baking classes, in-room camping, movie nights and family picnics. The hotel itself is conveniently located near the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, train museum and Rogers Centre. Most of these venues are within 10 minutes walking distance. I think it is also near the underground PATH, that connects many of Toronto's downtown buildings so you can avoid walking outside if so desired. Overall a great luxurious and family friendly hotel in downtown Toronto. Great for families visiting harborfront, CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium or Rogers Center. My only minor gripe is that the lobby is not particularly impressive.

The pool was beautiful with 360 views of Toronto. I did not find this hotel to be super functional though. There was no main light in the room so it was pretty dark being that the room was facing another building. The bathroom lights were located on the outside of the bathroom which is stupid, there was only one hook in the bathroom for towels, no hand towels, a scale that did not work, and no vanity space. The room is only equipped with three drawers in an armoire and massive tv that only displayed about 40 in of actual screen. The bar, Mister C, located off the lobby is also chic but over priced bar. The bouncer was not the nicest to the hotel guests even though I was sitting outside drinking water, he was convinced I was have an alcoholic beverage and went off about how they would get fines. I don't care. I'm drinking water? The club can get pretty busy and there is also a busy club on the rooftop, so if you're trying to get to your room at night, you're waiting for the elevator for a long time. The service elevator is located next to all of the guest elevators and did not open for guests. So in this giant hotel, there are only 2 functional elevators for guests. when we came back to the hotel after being out all day (about 4 pm) on our first evening, the room was not cleaned yet. When I called the main desk to ask why our room has not been cleaned, he said they should be coming soon. I've never stayed at a hotel that cleaned so late in the day. There was a broken roomba in the hallway and I knew it was broken because there were crumbs that sat in the hallway for the duration of my entire visit, about 4 days. 65$ to park your car EVERY NIGHT and $35 resort fee to do so. Insane amount just to park your car here. The pool closed yesterday at 5:30 pm to accommodate the night club that would be open. Our waitress tried to get us to close our tab an hour before closing. Meanwhile, it took 30 minutes to get our drinks and food. They were the most busy I've ever seen but the restaurant on the roof has SO many staff members i couldn't imagine it's an issue and almost a daily thing here. They also charge per person if one person gets still water. While this hotel was very beautiful, it has a lot of kinks to work out before I would consider staying with this chain again.

Maybe the hotel could provide sleeping masks since they cannot install decent floor to ceiling blackout curtains. Or how about providing earplugs? Either way... started off at 3 stars. now at 1 star experience. So if you or your toddlers are light sleepers this room is not for you.
