Town Inn Suites was our home in Toronto for a few days while I was visiting for a wedding, and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms (while slightly older) had modern amenities and were clean, which was important for us. I liked that there was a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and water boiler, making it easy for us to purchase groceries at the nearby H-Mart to have some food at home. The bedroom was a king sized mattress so plenty of space to sprawl out. We didn't use the TV or anything but did notice a lot of sound from outside would creep in through the thin walls. It's located close to Church and Wellesley so it was easy to walk down and enjoy some of the gay nightlight and restaurants. A few blocks away from the metro as well, making it convenient to make our base for a few days. read more

this place used to be nice, now it is really run down. I saw 5 different rooms and they were all falling apart and dirty. the 5th one was good enough, and I had to settle because after spending an hour flipping between rooms I had to get for my evening plans. And when I was in the middle elevator going to the 26th floor, it stopped at 18for no reason, there was smell of smoke, the elevator dropped and said 17, I pressed 16 to get out and the doors immediately opened and it was the 16th floor...so it dropped 2 floors. when I told the front desk they didn't seem to concerned. I'll never be coming back here again. and it's ashame because I've been here many many times over the years. read more

Worst hotel we have EVER stayed in. Too bad I can't post pictures. we posted another review on Trip Advisor. I should have copied And pasted to here. We were in a two bedroom "suite" . Pictures are very deceiving. Mold, peeling wallpaper and drywall, lint covered fan vent which didn't work, and pubic hair in the bathtub. Hundreds of bugs in the light over the dining table. The table was so bad we had to have it replaced. we had to buy utensils at the dollar store because there was none. we asked for more cutlery. we also had to ask for dish soap and dish towels because there was none. The cranks in the living area were all broken and maintenance came up and took the screens off so they could push them open. Bed linen was stained with some sort of pink markers or something. We were told to dump our own garbage when we asked for housekeeping to come change garbages. overall cleanliness not there. We took our notes/concerns to the front desk and all they did was offer us to change rooms after the second day. She just didn't seem to care. My mother uses a Walker and it would not be feasible for us to move for one night. who knows if we would have gotten a worse room. The beds are hard as rocks. So bad my body parts were falling asleep and my husband's back is aching. DO NOT STAY HERE read more

I was actually really impressed by my stay here. I came here in November and booked a room after searching for a last minute deal on Google from YVR in Vancouver and this place came up and fit my budget. My friend picked me up from the Toronto Pearson Airport and we checked in. Now, I did not know that I had to pay for overnight parking...but it was only about $40/night including taxes but still with the rate I got-$192 including taxes, this was still cheaper than most of the other hotels in Toronto for literally a hotel I had booked 6 hours before hand during the weekend of the Santa Clause parade. What I was impressed with was the size of my room and the King Sized bed-I had a King suite. I guess I was lucky to get one of the newer renovated rooms based on reading the other reviews here. I also had a decent view (I didn't get a picture of that but I did get to the roof of the building to explore the separate and unrelated gym upstairs.) Having breakfast here in the morning and a kitchen really helped me save money on my trip. I would actually book here again the next time I am here except that I would call the hotel directly because I noticed afterwards on their website you get an extra discount by booking directly instead of booking through a travel site. I guess the only downside, if you could call it that, was that the TV was locked and I could not stream my Netflix from my phone via Blue tooth to it. (I remember trying for awhile to do that based on the instructions in the room and should have called downstairs but just gave up and enjoyed my free wifi instead on my phone.) In terms of location, I was able to walk in the snow all the way to CN tower and up to Kensington market from here but I stopped a lot to watch the Santa clause parade so I couldn't tell you how long it takes to walk anywhere from here. I do remember my Uber being about $25 to get to the nightlife district on King St. from here, which wasn't too bad. I actually quite enjoyed my stay here and would recommend you book through their website to get a discount instead of through a travel site (mention the deal you saw on the travel site and I think on their website it says they will beat that price by 10% subject to a few terms-basically that is is for the exact same dates and amenities-just go to their site to read about that.) Breakfast was mostly baked goods, yogurt, apples and bananas which was included with my booking. Their kitchen includes pots and pans and enough utensils to cook lamb/steak and vegetables so if you would like to cook in your hotel room to save you money, this hotel has you covered. Also, if it matters to you, this hotel is also pet friendly! This hotel made my last minute trip very affordable and memorable. The staff are friendly, the parking is in and out, they have a continental breakfast and a kitchen and the hotel is pet friendly. For that, I give this my 5 stars and look forward to coming back the next time I'm in town. read more

Bathroom light always includes exhaust fan. Fluffy bath towels. Credenza has two long drawers under the TV in living room. Long counter & one chair in living room. No dining table. A coffee table. Dark brown floor & furniture shows ages & gouges. One Lamp by couch didn't work. Morning sun is blinding and hot through sheers in living room. Close bedroom door to sleep in. Good black out curtains in bedroom. No dresser or TV in bedroom. Bedside reading lamp didn't work, but light above it did. "Queen" bed is very narrow. Bed pedestal has sharp corners, a real threat to shins & feet. Three small, shallow closets, bedroom & entry. Breakfast room near the lobby is very small. This was a great hotel in the Wellsley District of Toronto. It was about a two mile walk to Rogers Center / CN Tower. The neighborhood is pretty cool and this hotel pretty much matches the vibe in the area. Our room was roomy but felt sort of bland - the bathroom felt more updated than the rest of the room. The Continental breakfast was okay, but the area to eat in was really small which made it crowded when it got busy. I would stay here again due to it's proximity to downtown and the neighborhood. read more

JUST HORRIBLE, newly - renovated maybe in 1960. Curtains yellow. Doorways and walls chipped and cracked, closet doors rusted. Tiny tiny bathroom for a 2 bedroom. Room was never cleaned once for our entire stay. Pictures extremely misleading, rooms DO NOT look like pictures on website. Hallways are disgusting, dirty, old, smell bad. On check-in demanded a $750 deposit. This place is the worst suite I have ever stayed in. Should be avoided! FURTHER MORE A SCAM, when we booked the rate it showed $320 per night. When you get the confirm, it doesn't show room rate only taxes! Very Odd! When you check-out, you see a much higher rate, in our case it was $459. TOTAL SCAM! So far from all the Hotels downtown is an amazing place to stay for the price. From the full kitchen where the appliance are incredible, to the perfect bed to have an incredible sleep this has being the perfect hotel for a short or long stay. read more

The room was just bad I was told I'd get an upgrade with a "renovated room" I don't even want to know what the old ones looked like... SO overpriced, for $30 more I could have stayed at the Sheraton which is MUCH nicer and closer to downtown. Only chose this place because it said they had balconies but come to find out they're permanently locked!!! I played myself by booking this hotel at the last minute and not reading reviews like I usually do. It was an incredibly unfortunate experience for me. I'll admit it's my fault that my expectations were based on the website and I didn't do my research to see which room types were pictured there. The Room- Bad Junior Suite Queen and Double Bed Based on the pictures from the website, I was expecting stainless appliances, wall decor and a few other very basic amenities (like a clean floor or a hook in the bathroom). Unfortunately, I was placed in a room that was very poorly cared for. The epoxy on the bath tub was peeling off. Much of the paint was warped and chunky. There wasn't a single piece of decor and the STOVE!!! I laughed when I saw it. This stove had to have been made in the 1940's. There's no way I would have eaten anything from it. For a moment, I was happy to see a keurig and knew I could at least have a cup of coffee. However, when I opened the water compartment, there was some sort of residue inside that caused me to slam it shut and back away. So coffee is out. In the bedroom The Gym- Bad I went to have a workout and the "gym" had only cardio equipment a stairmill (broken), two treadmills (one was extremely loud) and a Crossramp, which couldn't incline due to "Low Battery". There was also a spinbike, but I didn't have proper shoes for it. The Staff- OK The staff was just ok. The were very friendly and polite, which should have been a good thing, but it annoyed me that they were smiling and nodding as if they didn't know that their "Gym" was a joke or that my room was horrible. Overall, I was very upset with myself for booking without really looking and I hated this experience. It wasn't too pricey but also wasn't cheap enough for the experience I had either. If you book, here DO NOT expect stainless appliances and contemporary design. You won't find it. read more

IT WAS A COMPLETWLY FABRICATED, CRAPPY ROOM. No baking sheets or frypan in the kitchen either. Only one bedsheet and the furnace is either too hot or too cool; now I have a dry throat as a result for the rest of the week. There's plaster in the bathtub and the hot/cold knobs are reversed. $14/ night for Wifi and the TV takes forever (has HDMI). The only positive is the cozy layout and leather couches. As a plus, the staff were friendly but NO HEALTH CARDS will be accepted at front desk. The photos with the nice beds (taken from the website) IS A COMPLETE LIE! EDIT: Yelp took my image away that shows the problems with this place "arent reflective of the business," which is ridiculous because our room looks NOTHING LIKE THE WEBSITE. The pictures are catfish, the floor are extremely dirty with what looks like pee stains. The furniture is all scratched up, marks all over the walls, glasses so foggy I didn't wanna put any drinks in them. Paying for wifi on top of paying 354 for ONE NIGHT. You can definitely tell that this use to be a run down old apartment that they tried to turn around with just a few coats of paint and some new appliances. I'm an 18-yo that was in town alone for a concert, I have booked a few hotels without any issue. They would not let me check-in (to the room i had prepaid for) instead leaving me stranded on the streets of toronto all night just because i didn't have a driver's license (I had a healthcard but it wasn't good enough) and refused me of a refund. Don't even think about booking this hotel! Me and two family members were all flying into Toronto from different countries for a two day reunion. The Town Inn Suites looked like a good option because the two bedroom suite had three beds, a kitchen, dining and living area. I booked it two months in advance. Four days before our trip I got a message that my reservation had been cancelled by the hotel. When I called the hotel they said Expedia cancelled it. After hours on the phone with Expedia it was revealed that the hotel overbooked so they cancelled my room. It was extremely stressful trying to rebook something comparable but Expedia really stepped up and made amends for the disgusting actions of the hotel, even though it had nothing to do with them. So 5 stars to Expedia and 0 stars to this poor excuse for a hotel. read more

I never post reviews. I made an account because of this experience. A tree fell on my house and the most stressful part of the experience was getting into this hotel that my friend booked me. I had the same experience as Brendan Green (Google review). Nowhere on the site that we booked on or on their site lead to me to expect to have the credit card on hand - we entered all the details online. It was one mishap after the next and checking in took TWO HOURS. I had a panic attack and was outside sobbing. The whole experience was absolutely horrendous; staff was completely unhelpful, uninterested, and cold - including the manager. I wanted to walk away while the staff were all over the place - one picking up my task and then leaving it with another, misplacing ID etc. When I finally got into the room I didn't even want to stay, it was absolutely ridiculous. Every single sheet of contact paper was peeling off the walls, cracks and water damage. The duvet was stained and ripped and WITHOUT EVEN A COVER. I should have taken a photo of the bedding but by photo 12 I was just tired; the whole place was not it. You can find better places to stay on Air BNB. I know this was booked last minute - for an emergency - but it was no where CLOSE to the 500$ a night price tag. Absolutely abysmal experience I would never stay here again and never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our room was updated and modern to an extent. Views were breathtaking and in a great location for walking everywhere such as the market, restaurants and the subway. Amenities were questionable.....pool was cold & was as if the room was in the middle of repairs or could just be the norm. Figured we would warm up in the sauna but unfortunately women's was room temperature and men's was perfect temperature. Definitely the hotel as a whole is in need of some updating and we had to fight with the water temperature. Go from scalding to ice cold in half a second. Besides the small irritations the staff was welcoming and friendly, the location was great and again our room was a good size apartment in Toronto. Beds were very comfortable and pillows too. Plus came with everything you needed in the kitchen and the appliances were nicer then the ones we owned at home. read more

Wasn't me but my friend who's from out of the city, checked in for 20 minutes and was displeased with the room. The room had a smell that just smelt like someone took a big ol' crap in there, the balcony was facing a wall. Cracks in the ceilings and scratches in the walls. He wanted to book another so he went to the front desk to ask for a refund, he spent 4 hours on the train to get to Toronto and he was just tired. Upon arrival he was asked to make a $500 deposit, that's ridiculous! I went to the most expensive hotel and it only had a $200 deposit!! Now they won't give him back his money and claimed he has stayed for two hours so they won't give him his money back. What an awful place. read more

I've experienced much better and this hotel property has experience much better days. The suites are tired looking and the furniture is cheap. The staff at the hotel are doing their best but it's quite clear that the people who manage/run the hotel aren't really interested in sprucing it up or modernizing it. It's just the little things like, I don't know, the shower not being 100% clean, the peeling wallpaper in the living room or no hooks on the back of the doors in the bathroom or bedroom or how all of the stuff on the kitchen counter doesn't really fit. It can be like a mixed bag of candy's you never know what you're going to get. I have stayed at this hotel close to 20 times now over the years. It is always my first choice to stay in while visiting Toronto. For what you're getting overall it is a good priced hotel. The location is perfect. You get a kitchen which will save money. Some rooms even have a washer/dryer in suit. It can however be a hit or miss with the rooms. They are all different. Some are amazing and updated while others are older and are in need of repair. I have been very lucky dealing with the amazing staff. I have always been able to get the room that I request. This is not just because I have stayed here so many times. The staff and manager are the best. Friendly and very accommodating. Downsides can be the rooms itself & you do have to pay for WIFI. But for the price, location and service you can not go wrong with this hotel! read more

I stayed here a while ago and am just getting around to writing the review so part of what I comment on may be moot BUT if you go here and they assign you an older room that has not yet been renovated ask to be changed to a room that looks like what is on the brochure. When I got there late at night and was given a room which reeked of cigarettes and stale booze, I complained and was immediately moved to another room. The change was slightly better and smelled a lot better. In the morning I spoke with the day manager and was given a room that was recently renovated and wifi charges was waived. My time in Toronto immediately took a turn for excellent. The modern decor of the hotel was fun but wear and tear was already showing as the furniture is easily scratched. It was great to have a full kitchen if you are planning an extended stay. I was there for over a week and while it was great to taste the local fare it was even better to have access little noshes and water on hand for midnight snacks. The neighborhood is walkable and there is an amazing coffee shop across the street that serves the best mocha cafe. In a short walk from the hotel you can find anything to eat and/or drink and a metro station is nearby. It was fun just to walk around and take in the diversity of the community, be amazed by the architecture and get excited about the new development. read more

First things first, the only thing that should get 5 stars is the photographer they hired for the website photos. That gal or guy is a pro because the rooms and hotel itself don't look anything like the photos they post. Maybe they have a room used just for photos?... Arrival didn't start well as the front driveway was blocked with service staff and their vehicles. We had to go inside and ask the front desk to have them move so we could pull in off the street and out of traffic. Parking is $30, ugh, not advertised on their site. Balcony doors are sealed shut! What the heck?! Beautiful city to look at and spacious balconies... but you can't access them. Only Ice machine is in the lobby. The room served its purpose, the bed isn't bad, and it's spacious. I guess for the price and the area it's okay. Recommended if you're alright with a place that's slightly lacking and you're just looking for a place to crash while you sight-see. read more

I spent a week here for work in a king-size one-bedroom (free upgrade on checkin). The room has a lot of amenities, like a full kitchen and a TV in the living room and bedroom. It also had a dining room table and a small kitchen table. So a lot of space for just one guy. Unfortunately the first weekend I was there was also Caribana, which meant the hotel was full of drunken party-goers until 6am Saturday night, and people were screaming in the streets and cars honking and general mardi gras type mayhem. The walls are surprisingly thin for a 20-storey concrete building, and the hallway door lets in a lot of noise from the hall. As well as pot smoke. Anyway, one night without sleep wasn't too bad. The whole town was having a party I didn't know about. The rest of the nights were quiet, although the doors to other rooms on the floor make a lot of racket when they close. The price is pretty good considering how nice the area is. I didn't get to try the pool, but I checked out the exercise room, which is a bit cramped and could use some weights/resistance. read more

This apartment hotel has been renovated since the other two negative reviews were posted but it still has some problems: PROS: The updated decor in the rooms looks good. The one bedroom suites are quite spacious (1401), the decor is contemporary and fresh although the kitchens are still a bit dated circa 1995. My bathroom was starting to show some wear with pealing paint. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the blackout curtains. Parking is plentiful in the underground garage at a reasonable $22 a day. CONS: $12 a day for wireless Internet. What year is it, 2005? It's crazy for hotels to still charge for Internet use when most throw it in for free. Even the cheap Econo Suites a few blocks away has it for free. I didn't try the restaurant in the basement or use the pool or sauna. Overall, a decent choice especially if you're looking for a long term place to stay. However, the daily Internet charge is very annoying. read more

I would never EVER stay here again when coming to toranto. The price for the room was high along with the $27 a day parking fee that they didn't tell you about . The in check was 3pm had to call and make sure we had room note we paid 2 weeks in advance. When 4:30 came and no call we had to call the hotel. The room they gave us had hair on the bed sheets multiple, dirty floors with dirt and mud. There was a electronical cord hanging out of the wall, And the t.v. wasn't working. The WORST hotel I have EVER STAYED IN. This was supposed to be a relaxing fun filled vacation since my birthday is after labor day and I drove from Virginia. Turned out to be a complete fail. While they've done a good job at renovating what used to be an old high-rise apartment building, it's history is still very obvious. One of these rooms would be great if you were spending a week or more in Toronto and wanted to save money by making your own food, as it has a kitchen with a fridge and an oven, but if you're just looking for a nice weekend in the city to relax, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The bedroom and bed was tiny with no TV in it and the TV in the living room space was very small and very old. The room also still had a tinge of that old "someone used to live here and smoke a lot" smell. I'd recommend they get some new TVs and some incense and things would be a lot better! read more

Quite literally the worst customer service experience I've ever received. We booked through a 3rd party site that gave no indication of a deposit required at booking. Nor did we get a phone call or email asking about it, yet one week before we are set to go across the country for a celebration of life they cancel our booking with no warning. The manager said we could re book at the same rate if we added a valid credit card. But never told his staff so when we called to resolve the issue the staff proceeded to HANG UP on me 5 times. And when I finally got to actually speak to someone they said there is nothing they can do, asked what the purpose of my trip is (I said celebration of life) she said "ma'am we have a no party policy at the hotel"!?!? We are grieving not partying. I got vishals email (the booking manager) and emailed him. Asking him to call- never heard back except an email saying he now won't reinstate the reservation effectively leaving us stranded in these tough times. read more

The rooms were clean and the staff were as pleasant and accommodating as could be, but even that wasn't enough to make this anything better than the worst hotel experience in memory. 1. Any hotel in Canada, in winter, should at the very least make sure that the rooms are properly heated. Our living room was fine, but the bedroom was absolutely freezing as the windows weren't sealed properly. By the time we realized that the situation wasn't going to get better (we thought the heating was just slow), it was the middle of the night and we were exhausted and moving to a different room with a baby in tow would have been even more of an ordeal than sleeping on the couch in the living room. 2. If you're going to tell patrons that you have cribs for infants, you should actually have cribs for infants. What they provided was a playpen that was dirty (old vomit), uncomfortable and in disrepair (the bottom had collapsed). Additionally, being asked to pay so much for WIFI access in 2016 is utterly ridiculous. read more

I rarely leave reviews of the places I visit but my experience with this hotel was so atrocious I felt compelled to share. I found the room on hotels.ca for a fairly good rate and decided to book right away. This was a month prior to check-in date. An entire month went by without incident. The room was booked and paid for and my guests and I were looking forward to our stay. Fast forward to one month later on the eve of us checking in and I recieve a call from a hotel employee to inform me of the check in process. For starters, they required a $750 deposit for the room. Almost four times more than the price I paid. I've stayed at 4-star hotels where the deposit wasn't nearly that extravagant but I digress. I was irritated but not fussy. Then she informed us that there were no guests allowed in the rooms and said she needed a valid credit card in my name. I explained to her that I did not currently have an active credit card and could give them my required driver's license plus the deposit to hold in cash or cheque. She said that according to their policy a credit card was required to check in and without one checking in would not be possible...I was hearing about this for the first time 24hrs before my guests and I were set to check in. In other words, I was basically told I could not be checking in and was offered two 1-800 numbers to secure a refund (which would take 3-7 business days to find its way back to my bank account). I was LIVID. At hotels I've stayed at previously a cheque or my Visa debit have sufficed to secure the room and deposit. I was counting on the same experience here but that was not the case. What upset me the most was that this was only communicated to me one day before I was set to check-in giving me hardly any time to make other arrangements. I managed to secure a very reasonably priced, VERY last minute room at the Hilton Garden Inn and based on the reviews I've read here it seems like I dodged a bullet. I've learned my lesson and will definitely be paying closer attention to reviews in the future. I definitely do NOT recommend booking a room here unless you want to be screwed over or dicked around. read more

Upon arrival and checking in, the front desk clerk gave me such a hard time and kept repeating "If you have a party, you will lose your money and your suite" over and over. At this moment, I felt like it was such a discriminatory to mention, especially because I look younger than I am. The front desk personnel asked what the reason of my stay was which shouldn't have been a question considering I'm paying for the suite & it's none of his business; it was my boyfriend's birthday and I had the night planned out to watch a musical nearby; hence why I chose this location to stay for the night. I booked for the Luxury King Suite which was definitely more on the high class range, yet while entering the suite, I realized the front desk clerk made a mistake and gave me the key card to a Standard Suite which costed waaaaaay less than what I paid for. Heading back downstairs to the lobby, I confronted the front desk about my room and how it may OR MAY NOT BE A MISTAKE, maybe he thought I was stupid enough to stay at a cheaper priced room though I paid for a luxury suite (he basically tried to scam me). While confronting the personnel, he asked "so... did you two (me and my boyfriend) do anything at the suite? (asking in a flirtatious/creepy/pervy way)" - we didn't, to be clear. Then, he finally gave us the correct key card and went on our way to enjoy our night. One more thing, something was wrong with the heater/air conditioning in our suite - it was way too cold to sleep & there was no thermostat in the room. Throughout my travels, I've never experienced such an unprofessional front desk personnel. I am not recommending Town Inn Suites. read more

The room I stayed at had cockroaches and garbages stacked in the hallway for days, to a point where i had to call them myself to advise them to collect the garbage. When I arrived there was a discrepancy with my room which was paid for and booked weeks in advance, and I had to wait for about 20 minutes for the guy at the front desk to figure it out while I stood there, exhausted. The suite they put me in was a nice enough one-bedroom situation with a little kitchen and a living room. It was updated though you could tell if you looked closely and carefully that the building itself is a little old and they just slapped some new paint and stainless steel appliances on it to make it look better. But it was generally comfortable for my ten day stay while I attended TIFF. Everything was cool until, however, my seventh day, when I saw not one but two cockroaches in the suite (one next to bed, the other in kitchen -- IN the fridge. I have a photo but I'm not sure how to upload to my review!). I called the front desk and the guy said, "Oh, didn't you call earlier this morning about this?" No, sir, that must have been ANOTHER guest. Yikes. He said he'd call me back to figure out the situation, I'm sitting here an hour later, waiting. Will probably just book another place to be honest. If you're like me and you absolutely cannot deal with bugs/pests, it's not worth it. If you can stand seeing one or two roaches in your space, I guess do you, boo. Edit -- The manager called me back and promptly moved me to an upgraded two bedroom suite for the duration of my stay. The staff was very apologetic and quick with getting my new room keys. We stayed at the Town Inn for 3 weeks after moving to Canada while looking for a place to live. We staying in the "luxury" king suite, lol. To start with, the front desk and the rest of the staff is helpful, thoughtful, and kind. That being said, the hotel is awful. You can't set the AC, so better hope that the centrally set temperature isn't too hot or too cold (it will be both). Everything in the "luxury" suite was dusty and shoddily done (comically bad painting, room nothing like the website pictures). The bathroom fan never worked. After 3 days the bathroom sink started leaking badly all over the floor. The entry light and the storage room light were both burnt out. The bed was the most staggeringly uncomfortable bed we've ever slept on. The couch was basically unusable it was so hard and awful. The kitchen supplies terrible, cheap and breaking (we bought our own skillet to avoid eating Teflon flecks in our food. Many of the claimed amenities were simply not provided (the ice machine never worked, laundry turned out to be old, dirty coin operated machines in the basement, not included as implied by the website), parking was in a separate basement that involved hauling stuff up two sets of stairs. When asking for any supplies (such as toilet paper, soap, or dish soap), it was handed out in 1 or 2 item increments, despite our staying for a long term visit. We finally got an apartment and have never been so relieved to leave a hotel and sleep on a mattress on the floor (wildly more comfortable than the hotel bed). read more
