When I tell you I'm proud of Florence and this establishment. The ambience was perfect. The service was great and the food was delicious, however the fish I had was very pricey. I didn't see a price but werent expecting to pay $35. I definitely recommend this place especially if you are in the area. Downtown Florence has a bright future and so does this place. read more

The visit to Town Hall was amazing. The front of the house was spot on with seating us promptly. Our waiter was great but had to leave for a family emergency. The manager came and spoke with us about the situation and a new waiter came who was great as well. We had the charcuterie board which was great. My wife ordered a burger and I had the ribeye. Both meals were great. On out 1st visit we sat at the bar and had drinks which made us want to come back for dinner. Great experience!!! read more

Can't say enough good things about this little gem in downtown Florence. Second visit, just for cocktails, but we did sample the shoestring truffle fries and they were awesome. This restaurant was right across the street from my hotel in Florence. Met a work friend for dinner and the menu was small (which I appreciate) and we had the chance to sit at the chefs table!! I live being able to watch them prepare all the dishes. Also, one chef in particular was so kind and even moved some stuff around on his station so that we could see what he was preparing better! This is our third time visiting and each time the food was excellent. I had the pork chop and my husband had the shrimp Creole. Both dishes were excellent. My brother in law had the lamb shank and it was so tender it fell off the bones. Wow this place was delicious! We had some unfortunate luck on our travels and ended up getting stranded overnight in Florence which we didn't plan for. After a long day we wanted a nice meal and this place did not disappoint. The charcuterie was an awesome southern take on charcuterie, the cornbread was warm and fluffy, the drinks were yummy. The hanger steak was one of the most flavorful steaks I have ever had in my life - and such a reasonable price!! My husband got the fish special served over grits with chorizo and it was so tasty - creamy grits with the right amount of spice from the chorizo. The desserts were the perfect ending - a perfectly done crème brûlée and lemon blueberry cheesecake. This was one of the best meals I've had in a REALLY long time. Also the service was perfect!! This is a great little restaurant! The inside is very nice and clean. We arrived as a group and the restaurant was about half empty, which was to expected by it being a Wednesday night. The host seemed to not know what to to do to seat a group of 12 without a reservation. Part of our group used there website to make a reservation and the rest decided to go sit at the bar. Our first impression was tainted by the interaction with the host and the whole seating debacle. Once we finally got seated everything started looking better. Our waitress brought our drinks and took our order fairly quick. I had the Surf and Turf which had a skewer of grilled shrimp, a 6oz Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, and a side of Brussel Sprouts. The potatoes were very tasty, the Brussel sprouts were sautéed and seasoned perfectly. The ordered the steak cooked medium and it was prepared perfect, it was very tender and the seasoning was just right. The waitress was very attentive, she checked on us regularly and kept our glasses full. If you are in the Florence area or just passing through this is great place to relax and enjoy some really good food. I would have given them 5 stars if they had been more welcoming because the food was excellent and the service was great as well. read more

Headed to Florence tonight hoping to try somewhere new and ended up here. The building is beautiful, and the ambience is very welcoming. Staff was pleasant, fast and very accommodating. I had a White White Peach Sangria and my friend had the Red Wine Berry Sangria...they were beautiful and delicious. We each had a wedge salad to start. She loved the marinated tomatoes and pickled red onion, I could have licked the blue cheese dressing off of the plate, and the chunks (yes, chunks) of bacon were to die for. I can't leave out the basket of cornbread they served to get us started. We ate every piece. A little savory, a little sweet, perfect texture. I ordered the Hanger Steak which came out cooked perfectly (medium rare like a steak should be!) and covered with grilled onions. I don't even like onions, and they tasted good to me. But the steak fries...oh, the steak fries. They were little perfect wedges that were perfectly crisp outside, fluffy inside, salted perfectly and drizzled in a truffle aioli. My friend had the Strip Steak with root vegetables and collards which were deliciously smoky with just a little vinegar. I am serious about my collard greens, and these were done right. It was a phenomenal meal with great drinks and service. No clue about dessert because we couldn't handle it by the time we polished off the food. We will definitely be back. The Roasted Cauliflower is in my top 10 favorite dishes of all time!!!! This comes from someone who has been around the world everywhere from China to South Africa to the Mediterranean to Paris and all over the US. I visited South Carolina for my husband's family reunion-- it was my first time spending a significant amount of time in the state. I will say, we decided not to eat here because I find the menu pretty limited (especially if you had dietary restrictions- vegetarian/no red meat etc). Whenever I'm in Florence for work, I always make sure I hit Town Hall for dinner. In my opinion, it's the best restaurant in Downtown Florence in terms of food quality, service, and atmosphere. If you want to go more casual, the burger stack is one of the best burgers that I've had anywhere. They usually have a couple of good craft beer options as well such as the local Pixels IPA from Seminar Brewing. Great service and be sure to check out the roof top bar. read more

Town Hall Restaurant: Concerns: The quality of this restaurant has degraded since it first opened. I had the Surf and Turf. I ordered it because it was so impressive the first time I ordered it. The fillet mignon looked like a piece of beef that had been beaten with a meat tenderizer tool. I ordered it to be cooked Medium. It was served between medium rare and rare. This was not a filet mignon. Cutting corners to cut cost will not maintain your loyal customer base. The shrimp skewer was served cold and limp. Shrimp should be served hot and have a firm texture. I simply could not eat them. Greeters should demonstrate confidence and cheerfulness. The greeter last night (February 16, 2019) did not say any of the following: Good evening, welcome to Town Hall, how many at your table? He never greeted us. He never spoke a word. He simply fumbled with the computer, and walked us to our table. A bizarre intro to an upscale restaurant. Please offer him soft skills training if you intend to keep him as the first person your customers will have to engage. Hidden gem. Here on business and I loathe chain restaurants, so I tried one of the only 4+ star restaurants in the area. Don't pass on the cornbread. Holy Lord. I don't know if it's the bread or the butter, but there's crack in there somewhere. I'm sure of it. I ordered the filet - probably one of the best I've ever had. Delicious sides included mashed potatoes and broccolini, which was incredibly tasty - it almost hinted of a true grilled, light smokey flavor. The venue itself is beautiful. Shiny wood tables, open bright windows, modern-rustic (I totally made that term up but it fits). The music is super chill. A little hipster but in a good way - and not enough to make you eye roll. I ordered their red blend and it was super yummy. Their cocktails looked pretty spectacular though. Beignets. For dessert. Only disappointed that the chocolate chess pie that was listed online wasn't available - note: like any good restaurant, their menu is seasonal and changes. Didn't know chocolate had a season, but it's cool. The beignets were AMAZEBALLS and I had enough to share (Dont worry, i didn't). I eat early (37 going on 78) and dined on Wednesday so I was seated immediately and my food came remarkably quickly. My *only* complaint would be the inexperience of my waiter, who mentioned that he was new. He wasn't sure what I meant when I ordered the Red Blend on the menu, asking again if I wanted the Cab or Pinot... but he apologized quickly enough and was super friendly. A for effort for sure. I would have never guessed Florence had a spot like this. This little area will be beautiful and a hot spot soon, mark my words. I would love to give this place 10 stars. We pulled off I95 at exit 160A looking to eat, all restaurants off exit had an hour 1/2 wait, so we looked up restaurants in the area and Town Hall popped up, we weren't sure but when we drove 11 minutes, we found parking and went in, we sat at the bar, since we didn't have reservations. Well it was the best meal we ever ate. We order calamari and burgers. OH MY GOD the most tastiest food ever. Sam behind the bar was so welcoming and such a delight to talk with! A wonderful southern inspired restaurant in the heart of downtown Florence. The space and scale of the of the dining area is conceptually well designed. Its modern with a southern twist. For my appetizer I chose the deviled eggs topped with a fried oyster and my entree was the grilled local fish over braised lentils and basil butter. Both were exceptionally presented, prepared and full of flavor. I look forward to my next visit where I will be trying a new appetizer and entree. We had a delicious and memorable dinner at Town Hall last night! Very clean and spacious inside, lots of space and very charming with candlelights and dim lighting as well as big curved booths . Traveling on 95 and super tired, we stopped for a night at the Hotel Florence, parked our car in front of the restaurant at 9pm and we were welcomed by Daniel. He took such excellent care of us and service was impeccable. We ordered the cornbread to start - best I ever had! Then the honeysuckle mule - see photo(definitely recommend!). For the main courses we ordered the roasted chicken with grits and roasted asparagus - tasty and perfectly cooked(moist and flavorful). I've never had asparagus grilled with the woodsy, grilled taste - so good! Daniel recommenced some wines and salads - loved the strawberry arugula salad and the Malbec from Argentina. We also ordered the mussels in the tomato broth with roasted asparagus as a side. Daniel was a pleasure and we will be back for sure - Thank you! We love town hall so much! My husband and I went on one of our first dates here and have continued to return. We are never disappointed. I feel like this is one of the only places in Florence that actually teaches their staff the importance of customer service. This is a place we love to go on special occasions so we are often times willing to spend a bit more and pay higher prices, but I think the prices are fair and the food quality is fantastic- you absolutely get what you pay for! The staff are all kind, checking in and going above and beyond to make sure you have what you need. Awesome bar, and most importantly the dessert is wonderful, I don't think there is a single dessert on the menu that disappointed us! We will continue to eat at Town Hall and look forward to coming to town and having the opportunity to do so! read more

Went there for a work dinner on Wednesday night. Place got pretty packed by 7:30-8 pm. We had a few drinks, service was friendly and on-point. The waitress knew the menu very well. We started with the fried oysters on deviled eggs that was pretty tasty. Tried the Caesar salad and that was delicious. I ordered the catch of the day seared. It came with Brussel sprouts, asparagus and some kind of little fried pork belly bits. It was delicious. The only thing that kinda threw me off was as I was getting to the end of my fish, I noticed it wasn't fully cooked. I went to Townhall for my friend's birthday recently and they took the absolutely amazing roasted cauliflower vegan dish off of the menu and replaced it with a "roasted beet plate." It was literally like 3 full pounds of beets stacked on a plate. No person in the world, including a vegan would ever eat that many beets in one sitting. It was honestly funny because it was so unbelievable. Everyone was passing the plate around in total awe that I was served a plate that looked like this at such a nice restaurant (for the area). I paid $16 for a serving of beets that could've served 5 people. It was insane. I wish so badly I had saved the picture. I put it on my Instagram story, but it didn't save. We were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately, though it was a busy dinner time on a Saturday night. The restaurant was nicely appointed with a lively bar area and a separate, quiet, dining spaceOur server was pleasant and accommodating. The menu offered a variety and everything we were served was delicious. I had filet mignon and steak fries, both à la carte. It was nice to be able to select entrée and side dishes separately. My meat came with perfectly cooked asparagus spears that I had not expected but thoroughly enjoyed. Our table also ordered the shrimp appetizer, which was a perfect starter for the meal. The other meal ordered for our table was the half chicken, which came with a particularly delicious, dirty rice. We ordered the side of black-eyed peas and it was perfect. The only complaint I had about the entire evening was my cosmo martini. It tasted a little bit like a sweet soda. At thw end of the evening, I left my umbrella, and our server actually walked it down to our hotel and turned it in at the front desk for me. read more
