We got a referral for Adam with Town Fence from a friend and neighbor who had a great experience with the new fence Adam had installed last summer. So we called him when we needed to replace and add some fencing. We worked with Adam to get quotes on steel and aluminum options and had a great experience. Adam was very professional, answered our many questions, and was always responsive. I would definitely work with Adam at Town Fence again if the need arises. read more

We had our fence installed a couple years ago and within a few weeks of installation, the wood started to warp. I contacted Adam and he replaced some of the boards but the warping continued and our fence now looks terrible. I tried contacting him again to replace more of the warped boards (which he admitted was due to poor quality wood they purchased) and did not receive a response. Two years later, some of the boards are falling off the steel posts. Also, they left nails on our driveway which caused us a flat tire on our car and cost us hundreds to replace. The wood is uneven, not evenly spaced, and doesn't look professional. If you want uneven boards, warped wood, nails left behind, gaps everywhere then go ahead and contact Town Fence. read more

AMAZING! My fence looks great and the crew that came in was courteous and took care not to disturb anything other than was needed. Highly recommend! read more

DO NOT, under any circumstances, rely on Adam and his team at Town Fence. It is rare that I rate a business on Yelp, but in my 20 years as a homeowner, this is the worst home improvement experience we've ever had. In all fairness to Adam, we paid the 50% down payment, and then my wife and I got confused as to who paid the balance. When contacted by Adam, we paid it immediately. He will not send you his in-house staff, but a 3rd party team that is more interested in asking you how to start their own company than perform the work they've been hired for, in order to "get away from Adam." They will leave nails and screws and dirt everywhere, but the post-work experience is where it really falls apart. They will tell you not to use the gate they installed for 2 days. If you hire Town fence, DO NOT USE THE GATE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK! We made the mistake of doubling their advice (4 days) and within 2 weeks our gate must be jerked upward to open or close. Fair enough to excuse bad guidance from Adam's team of "professionals," but I've called and texted Adam to call me back at least a dozen times with absolutely no response. There is no pride that this company shows in its work. I just wanted him to give me advice to fix the problem myself. I never asked him to send his "team" back for free or even a discount to correct the fault. All texts to Adam went unanswered for weeks. I finally asked him if I should just give up on hearing back from him. I never heard back. If you use this company, you are on your own. Huge mistake hiring Adam and his "team" of 3rd party contracted staff who don't care on the job, and a front office that doesn't care about their work after they've been paid. HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! read more

We are so happy with our new gate! Working with Adam was a pleasure from start to finish. His crew did an amazing job communicating what was happening every step of the way with the installation process. The final product is exactly what we were looking for. read more

Adam and his crew did an amazing job! We love our new fence. His crew were all very professional, polite and the service was excellent. Everything built on site. Their prices were also much better than other estimates. We couldn't be happier, I highly recommend them. Job was done in Westchester Illinois read more

I went around and saw some of their work when visiting relatives in Chicago as we needed a new fence and I wanted to get some ideas. Every where I went it was this company's work that stood out. So I hired them and couldn't be happier. They are easy to work with, prices are reasonable and they are knowledgeable in the products they use for the variety of fences they provide for customers. They will be doing more work at a couple of other properties I own. read more

These guys are real pros. They built us a beautiful fence, and when a minor problem came up later, they came out and made everything perfect--even after the fence had been up quite a while! Great work, EXCELLENT professional service. Adam and Jill run a tight ship at Town Fence! Big recommend. read more

Adam exceeded my expectations in providing information when I called to ask some questions. I had a gate where latch did not work, and had no idea if I needed a new gate, or if it could be fixed with minor adjustment, or new lock. Adam identified the type of fence/gate I had from a photo, and made some recommendations. He knows his stuff, and I would highly recommend using him for any fence project in the future. Professional and friendly. Nice local company! read more

This review is in recent events. Part of our white vinyl fence came apart, the panels 4-5 were out in the yard. I have dogs and we also have coyotes and other wildlife that walk around an open field behind us, which is why we wanted the privacy fence. Our fence timeline was pushed off a few times when it was supposed to be done prior to us moving in. I had to board our dogs for 6-7 days instead of 1 day because of this. The workers were lazy in picking up after themselves with trash in the yard, the post had to be reset also due to a large gap from ground and where the bottom of the fence rested or more like did not, Adam was very unbothered by being late at promised times, and very bothered when we asked him to come out to review work in person and not over FaceTime Again, to get the panels secured properly now over the winter he is asking for photos when we asked for a worker to come out and correct this. The panels were placed back inside by us, but now a worker needs to come out and properly secure them back. Photos will not do that. Again we are playing the communication break down with Adam and lack of professionalism and customer service on his part. I cannot in good faith ever recommend this company and I recommend you do yourself a favor, regardless of the price he quotes you to avoid Town & Fence. read more

I highly recommend Town Fence! Adam provided excellent customer service, from beginning to end, which is hard to come by these days! Quoted us a great price for a fairly good size cedar fence, which included tear down of our old fence and hauling it away. We did a "shadow box" design and it looks beautiful & provides the wanted privacy we were looking for...we couldn't be happier and I'm hard to please! His crew arrived on time the day they were scheduled, were super efficient, very cordial & friendly and completed the job within 2 days. They completely cleaned up after themselves as well and even went above and beyond, trimming some of our trees! Adam came by the next day to inspect the job and to be sure my husband and I were happy with the fence. If you're looking to install a fence, save yourself the "shopping around" time and just use Town Fence, you will not be disappointed! read more

Town Fence replaced my aging cedar fence with vinyl, revamping the entire yard, driveway and patio area. Adam was open to my ideas and budget. He provided various fencing designs, all with top quality materials. Although Town Fence is a relatively newer company, Adam's years of experience installing fences was evident from day one. His experienced crew has a great work ethic, takes pride in their work and it shows. The new fence looks great! read more

Overall, Town Fence Company was a pleasure to work with. Although a bit more informal than some of the larger contractors, they were still professional from start to finish. Adam was understanding of our situation. He also recommended going with a single swing gate as opposed to the double swing gate. It was a little more expensive (as was the competitions') but well worth the extra expense. We ended up going with the aluminum fence. During the construction phase, Town Fence was planning on taking down the old existing fence and completing the new one along with the gate all in the same day. This also happened to be the hottest day of the year. Had the Village of Villa Park not needed to inspect the post holes, even in the heat they were on their way for a 1 day completion. There was one discrepancy that my wife and I noticed and were not sure if it was going to be easy fix. The gate did not open the direction as proposed. This was important to us. Adam happened to follow up with me the day after the job was complete and I informed him of the gate. Two days later, his guys were back out to correct at no additional expense. The receiving post had to be moved to correct. These guys understood the situation and fixed no problem. Town Fence Company would be my go to fence contractor for future fence projects. read more

I was looking to install a cedar fence around my property. I got estimates from five fence contractors. It came down to Town Fence and one other company. Both were comparably priced. I decided on Town Fence because they were a local company and because of Adam's proposal--which was detailed and the fact that he communicated well throughout the process. The crew installed approximately 320 linear feet of cedar fencing in two days. Several of my neighbors have commented on the beauty of the fence. The pics don't do it justice (especially since I can't seem to rotate them). I'm satisfied with the finished product and would highly recommend Town Fence. read more

Unfortunately we had a very frustrating time working with Town Fence Co on our driveway gate leaving us dissatisfied in the gate itself and severely disappointed in the customer service we received from Adam and Jill. What should have been a relatively simple job turned into a long list of issues - - The original catch pole was screwed to the ground rather than sunk in concrete, requiring a second trip to set properly. - The incorrect gate was ordered and partially installed before I ran outside to stop the process. - The wrong gate led to an 8-week delay with no pro-active communication on the new install date. I was continually chasing updates. - The temporary wooden gate was installed at the wrong height leaving the gate dragging on the driveway even after flagging as a concern. - Countless small mistakes which were laughed off as 'brain farts' including bricks left in wet concrete on our neighbor's property, nails and screws left on the driveway, and spray paint on newly-finished asphalt. - The final gate was initially installed at the wrong height leaving a badly patched spot on the gate itself. - Damage to the gate and poles during transit which were spraypainted rather than repaired; I was repeatedly told was my own fault because I didn't order a powder coated gate. - Workers would disappear without any comment to me or my husband about whether they were finished for the day or returning to finish the project. - Adam was generally unreachable via phone (ignored calls) and I had to get his crew to call him to address the issues. While we at long last have a functioning gate and received a small discount off the total cost, the hassle and condition of the final project were far below expectations. Note for the future, if a company ever tells you it is "up to you" if you want to get a permit from the village, move on immediately. Any business that is willing to skirt legal requirements certainly isn't one you can trust to do the right thing for you as a customer. read more

This was a simple project, a driveway gate and a backyard gate. We started in April and the lumber and supplies stayed in my yard until August. There were a variety of excuses and reasons. After the second attempt at order a gate for me it came in 3 inches short and the post needed to be ripped out and reset. Concrete is splattered on the posts and was not wiped off. I had to back fill the second post hole dug. Looks like a do it your self result. The wooden gate door, was to be a 4 foot picket fence as it said on the contract. It is almost 7 feet high and stands inexplicably taller then the fence next to it? I will probably take it down next year and call a professional to replace it? A very frustrating experience. They did give me some money off for the hassle but would go with someone else next time! read more

Our Vinyl fence was installed 3 years ago and still looks great! Great price and easy to work with. Highly recommended!

A great company to work with. Adam offered good communication, listened to our request and knocked the ball out of the park with their execution. Fantastic new fence and definitely recommend and would use again. read more

I very rarely posts reviews... but Town Fence was so amazing that I had to put this out there. Adam was awesome. He came out, gave us a great price and stayed in contact with me all the way through. It only took two days and the workers were professional and courteous. I am SO happy with the final outcome. The fence is better than I ever expected. I recommend Town Fence 100% read more

Overall bad experience. Too many issues to list. Started with taking down part of my old fence weeks before my materials were in, hit my power line, and ended with leaving the job unfinished, debris in my neighbors yards. The fence is pulling apart so I called Adam to fix it. It's been several weeks...no show. All this for a $10,000 fence. Wish I had used someone else. read more

Adam come to our house, took measurements and said that he would email us the bid. Silence. I have called twice, texted once, and email asking what the bid is or, if at the worst, he does not want the job to please just tell me. Silence. He has totally ghosted us as a potential customer. SO. VERY.DISAPPOINTING. read more

Had to have my fence replaced. Adam, from Town Fence came at the scheduled time. I liked that. My only need for a fence is to keep my dogs secure. A max gap under fence of 2" was discussed and agreed upon. The installed fence had 8+" gaps in some places. Not good at all. Their solution was to spread the loose dirt and clay from the fence post holes into the gaps. Not acceptable. Second solution: install an extra board across the bottom. I was assured only 2" gap would remain. However, much larger gaps still remain. Adam's suggestion was to add more boards to the bottom. If the fence had been installed per my request, no boards at all would have been needed. BTW, the extra boards started splitting within 2 weeks. Adam doesn't think I should leave any negative comments because he installed the extra boards at his own cost. Again, if they had done what I asked for, then no extra boards would be needed. There were other issues that took multiple trips and weeks for them to finally fix. I regret hiring Town Fence. The fence cost me a lot of money and they installed it the way they wanted, not the way I needed it to be, and the way that was agreed to by Adam. If you don't care about what kind of fence you get, then maybe you'll like Town Fence. But, if you want your fence installed the way you asked for it, then I'd suggest staying clear of this company. read more

Great Company! Wasn't sure how a fence was going to work out in our backyard being so heavily wooded but Adam came out for an estimate and to check out the property and told me it would not be a problem. The first day, Roberto and his crew came to set the posts and I couldn't believe how quick they finished it. The second/last day they came out to finish the fence and had it all done before noon. I couldn't have asked for better service or a more respectful company. I definitely recommend Town Fence! read more

Town Fence Co. came on the day they said they would and finished the job in 1 day. I was not happy with the fence baffle, so I called. They responded immediately and positively, fixing the problem within a few days. Beautiful job. Good value. Excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this company. read more
