First off there are a few nice employees at TFT stores but not many- the organization itself is a chaotic and disgruntled mess. I have purchased new tires for over 5 vehicles now and I will NO longer be purchasing any more tires from any TFT stores. The company promises everything when you buy 4 new tires- yet they fail to deliver anything in a consistent manner. One books an appointment for tire rotation, wheel balancing and front end alignment and it seems TFT is unable to handle a simple job like this. Yesterday I arrived in Plaistow NH. early.. 0800 to have my 10,000 mile service. Tire rotation, wheels balanced and front end aligned. 2 hours and 15 minutes later... they had not even started the alignment process. That also meant that I was stuck inhaling all those horrid fumes in a hot waiting area.... btw... look up tire fumes... benzene, and many other caustic and carcinogenic chemicals are emitted from tires. TFT management does not even care about our respiratory health! I was pissed because I had another car appointment across town and I had to rush there... I was late but they took me in anyhow... I had clearly discussed this with the assistant manager in Plaistow too- a couple of days before. I was told that I was the first customer and it would be fine... this is not what happened! False information and false reassurances are not what paying customers want! I have encountered rude, tired, mean, overworked and underpaid TFT employees at Salem, NH, Seabrook, NH... and Nashua NH too. The Danvers employees are nice but they are stressed and informed me that they can't keep good help... that they do not have enough employees to keep up with customer demand. Also that the management does not support them in their daily jobs. One guy said he wished TFT would pay to cross train them so that the desk people could also pitch in and help with the work load in the shop as needed. I recently had a scheduled 1 pm appt at Seabrook NH... the front desk person who is more like a prison warden informed me that it was a 3.5 hour wait!! I was pissed as anyone would be... it was 95 degrees outside as well. I left and they gave me bad attitiude and the stink eyes but I was not going to hang out in that shop all day! BTW.. no one from TFT bothered to follow u with me or to see if they could assist me another way! I have also called before about tires which were leaking air and have been told to leave the car with them for 2 days.... its ridiculous. When you purchase new tires from TFT... they promise everything... but they are liars. They deliver nothing and you give you excuses, red tape and empty promises as well. Customer care is dysfunctional as well... they are about as caring as rotten tomato. Stay clear of TFT stores... no one needs or wants this kind of grief and stress- especially in todays times! . To ALL my disabled veteran friends around the northeast... go to Costco, the military bases and anywhere else but this establishment -they dont care about veterans like you or me.... or for ANY paying customer for that matter. TFT is the kind of company that brags about how great they are but the truth is they are a feckless and poorly managed tire company who takes your money and refuses to honor the maintenances you pay for in the beginning! STAY away from TFT and if you go in... wear a respirator... maybe that's what's wrong with all of them... tire fumes have poisoned ALL of their minds!! Good riddance TFT! read more

was looking for a set of tires   As I was getting the estmate from a competator the person who worked at this place told me to go to to go Town Fair Tire in Plaistow its a better place to go for tires. I walked in and was greated by Al the store manager and Madison they were both extremly helpful and honest. I was not treated like another customer. I was treated like a friend. When picking out the tires they suggested the best tire based on quality not price. I left the car overnight and got a call at 9am telling me that it was ready. When I picked up the car and got home I was missing a hub cap that could have came off anytime between the shop and NY house. Al ordered me a new one at no charge and Maddison put it on for me. Only giving this 2 stars because the staff member I dealt with was very nice and tried to work with me but ultimately couldn't. Went in to buy 4 toyo AT3 tires at $392 and some change a piece. Showed up to my appt and was told because my rims were new and purchased from out of store they could only mount the tire to the rim then I'd have to find someone else to install them to the truck. The problem is the call center for them never disclosed any of this even with me telling them I had my own new rims. Also I found the 4 toyo AT3s for $348.50 at tire buyer.com then $79.99 for the install (yes I have the receipt). Shop around people there are better prices out there. Also if your rims have been mounted on the car before they will mount those, just not new ones read more

Waited FOUR hours after my appointment for them to not even touch my car or give any heads up that they're backed up and behind. After the fourth hour of waiting I just asked for my keys back because my car hadn't even been brought back yet. I understand labor shortages but at least communicate with people that are paying so they don't waste their entire day. The employees don't want to work and quality matters when it comes to my truck. There is no reason for my truck to have to be rebalanced 2 times. As I'm standing here yet again, waiting for over 40 minutes when there is no other vehicle in the waiting que line, that my truck should still be not in the bay. Upon inquiry, I was told the service tech said, "I don't know why it's back, there's nothing more we can do." My drive is shaky. It's as of I'm driving on frost heaves constantly. I didn't want to bring it back in to have the balance checked again, but I paid a lot of money for the new tires, and if they aren't balanced properly, I will chew through them quick. They should stand behind their services and work. They should have better customer service and they shouldn't be allowed to decide "I don't want to do that" it's their job. Informed by a staff member at 12 noon that our car was next and that it would be done in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later car was still outside. At 12:45 car was finally brought inside. Another staff member said 20-30 minutes at 12:45. Well it's now been 45 minutes. I don't want to hear the Covid excuse. Make the appointments appropriately if you have a shortage because of Covid. Took my car for alignment.Had a slow leak in a tire .Asked them to check the tire and do the full alignment.I've been going to them for years and always trusted them until now Got my car back ..next day tire is low again .Brought it to my dealership ..found out I had a nail in a tire ..a bald tire inside the wheel weld and the car was never aligned..The bolts to try too align it were rusted over .They had to be heated to remove .Townfair in my town Danielson Ct .charged me for work they NEVER did .I went there with the paperwork and facts from my Dealership.The management called me a liar and was arguing with me .This after being a Steady customer for years ..Im so disappointed and frustrated . NEGLIGENT! Called and ordered one tire for replacement due to a slash in the outer tire. Told the front desk when I arrived I was here for the driver rear (any prudent worker would double check the tire as it is a TIRE COMPANY, right)? When I checked out the service man stated, "Rear passenger was replaced and all tires were rotated." Not only was the wrong tire changed, but the tires were rotated and no one noticed the huge slash in my tire?? If I wasn't paying attention I would have drove off with a shotty tire and a perfectly good tire would have been replaced. Do better. Stop and look at what you're actually doing. Do not go to this town fair tire. Waited for 3 hours to be told that there was a nail on the sidewall of my tire and that they could not repair it. Instead the tires I just spent 700 dollars on not even a year new from them, I now need to buy 4 more because I have an AWD vehicle?! Ya no doesn't work in my book. I took it to my boyfriends house which his father takes a look at it and tells me it actually CAN be patched and it's not even on the sidewall they just wanted you to buy new tires! Ha ya never going back there and I don't think anyone should unless you like paying for horrible service and never get your moneys worth. Almost every tire shop is a negative experience. Town Fair Tire in Plaistow lives up to the tradition. Had an appointment for mid-morning, but I get there and two guys are at the counter. One is helping an individual, the other is ignoring the growing line of customers behind me (two), and furiously is typing data from pieces of paper in front of him into the computer. Neither greets any customers, apologizes, or says, "We'll be right with you." They both ignore everyone waiting in line. Ten minutes later, I get to the front of the line. I notice they are busy and note that while I have an appointment, I don't want to be stuck here all morning. He says, "Oh, no worries, for folks who have an appointment, we can get you out of here within 90 minutes or so." (For comparison sake, my wife took her car in for a new set of tires two weeks ago and the whole experience took her less than an hour.) Okay, 90 minutes sounds just acceptable, and I go ahead with the appointment. Find a diner down the road and spend an hour there (since, like all tire places, the place has so much off-gassing from the tires, it's probably hazardous to spend any significant time in their waiting area, much less work there). I make my way back to the store, make a few phone calls along the way, and get back right around the 90 minute mark. No car, but I can see it's on the lift, so I think, "Good progress." 30 minutes, still no car. An hour later, finally the car appears. The guy who's at the counter now hands me my key and says, "You're all set." Fantastic. Except I go out to the car and notice they didn't bother cleaning their work grime off my wheels, and they are filthy with fingerprints and whatever they use to put the tires on. Oh, and the front tires are missing their air stalk caps. Look, they have good prices that pretty much match every other tire place. And apparently every tire place lies about how much time it will take, and few of them seem to care much about the customer, or say simple things like, "We'll be right with you," or "Sorry for the wait." But I've been to this location more than once now, and it's not gotten any better (this was the worst). So I'm moving on to another tire chain for my next set. Sorry guys, I gave you a chance, and you treated me like dirt. Apparently basic customer courtesy (and not returning the car's tires in a filthy condition, missing parts) is not in your vocabulary. read more

I left called back later and cancelled my alignment the tires are fantastic but the in store customer system is absolute horrendous with 4 grand total trips when gas is super cheap etc and no how about something for your trips backs and forth and being a dedicated for over 8 years at that location which will not be the case anymore if othe location's are in store better I will travel if it still beats salem nh competitors. After ANOTHER hour I was told they couldn't find my tire in stock and could not take my car today. Last time I was at this location they took 2 1/2 hours past my appointment time. I had a good experience several years ago with Town Fair Tire, although it was at a different location. It was a much different experience this time. I purchased four new tires for my truck, and got an alignment at the same time. Almost immediately after getting back onto the main road, I had a feeling something wasn't right. I was getting a clicking sensation in the steering wheel when turning left or right, although it would only happen when in park, or immediately shifting out of park. It wasn't happening before the new tire installation. I was also experiencing more rattling in the front end, as if something in the suspension was broken. The other thing I noticed a few weeks later is that I was already getting tread wear on my right front tire, which wouldn't happen if the alignment had been done correctly. I brought it back to Town Fair, and I was told that the truck was in alignment, and to bring it back again if I still felt a click in the steering wheel. After a few more days, with the click still occurring, I brought my truck to a different tire dealer. Upon looking at the underbody of my truck, they brought me out to have a look for myself. I was told that Town Fair didn't do an alignment at all, but charged me as if they had. So this tire dealer actually performed the alignment, and the truck seems to be handling much better. Town Fair Tire does offer the lowest prices on new tires, but it's offset by being charged for an alignment that was never performed. I understand it's difficult to find competent, knowledgeable people with the economy doing so well, but not training someone on how to perform an alignment is inexcusable. Seems like most of the staff is young, and don't like working on Saturdays, even if the store is closed on Sundays. I should be giving a one star review, but I'm being nice because I did have to special order my tires, and they were there on the day of my installation. Otherwise, go to NTB. read more

I was very surprised to see two poor ratings for this location because I returned there last weekend for my second set of tires to be purchased this year. My wife went there in the early part of this summer and worked with Dan, one of the Assistant Managers. You can't a much better experience than working with Dan because of his knowledge and expertise of tires, and he took the time to review every single tire selection available for her vehicle giving both the pros and cons of each tire, expected life range, and why you should and shouldn't purchase a particular tire. In addition, he gave his top 3 recommendations, and explained all costs involved so we were fully aware of what to expect without any surprises. My recent purchase was the same experience as my wife's and I requested to work with Dan. I'd have to say my experience was slightly better due to the fact that I was there at 8AM when the doors opened (highly recommend being there early ona Saturday), Dan gave me the same great service with his tire expertise, and I was on my way home by 9AM as the team did an excellent job of adding new tires and doing the front wheel alignment. Dan also extended 10% "customer appreciation" savings to me across my entire order. If you are in the market for tires, I HIGHLY recommend the Plaistow, NH location and ask for Dan. I was nervous about trying another tire chain. My car is my baby and I don't trust anyone with her. Well I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with the courteous and professional staff at the counter and was blown away by the operation out back. Yes, I stood in the back of the parkinglot and watched. The procedures the techs used were top notch. Everyone knew what they were doing. They even put the lugs on with a torque wrench. He said he was short staffed due to call outs. NOT MY PROBLEM. As a manager you deal with it by reducing your customer load. I called Town Fair Tire at 9 AM Friday 12/8/17 and asked if I could bring my car in to have a slow leak repaired leave it and pick up at 3PM. The service rep said sure, bring it in and talk to tech. I arranged for a ride and took time from work . At Town Fair rep told me there was no way repair could be done today. When asked about assurance from previous call he informed me that all calls are handled in Connecticut and they just tell callers to come in without regard to local bookings just to get you into the door hoping to make a sale. He said that he had probably handled 50 customers this month expressing frustration with this poor system. After spending $900 last year for tires here I will never be back. read more

I had new tires and a all 4 wheel alignment done. when i left i notice that in order to drive straight i had to have the steering wheel in the 11 o'clock position. So i had to being it back for them to fix it. After another 4 wheel alignment then my car had a sight turn to the right. i brought it back for a 3rd time. i demanded a refund and i took it to Regan Ford. They did the job right the first time.
