They were free of judgement and nothing but helpful from the front desk to the hygienist to the dentist. After hearing about my insurance situation and another office canceling on me day of, Town Dentistry made time for me to come in and made me 2 follow-up appointments to get a deeper cleaning and a couple fillings. I've been coming to Town Dentistry for years, and even though I'm currently living in London I still prefer to visit Dr. Pike and Jessica when I'm in town to look after my teeth. Having been to other dentists in the US and a few countries, the team at Town Dentistry are the best I've been to. The staff is welcoming, accommodating and nice! This place is nice, the staff are extremely nice, they even supply you with a nice coffee mug after the visit; however I don't think ill return... I just changed dentists to them; normally I see a dentist every few months for a regular cleaning ... the place seems cool and clean with updated equipment however when I arrived I did not have any issues with my mouth... After a routine cleaning my mouth hurt like hell.. Took pain killers for 4 days. They also tried to tell me I had cavities etc... My previous dentist always commented how pretty my teeth were there were no mentions of needing feelings etc.... It has never hurt after a cleaning before, until now...My daughter has a apt with them coming up and i'm hesitant on bringing her here... I recently went to Town Dentistry in Brookhaven. Before my appointment, I called to confirm that they were in-network providers, but apparently they are not. I received a bill for things that I did not ask for and things they did twice (two separate types of x-ray on the same day). It was to the extent that my insurance said it looked like clerical errors, but they aren't errors. I say all this to say, BE CAREFUL and confirm with your insurance first and make sure that you know the exact services you need so that Town Dentistry doesn't tack on additional, unnecessary things during your appointment and send a shocking bill. read more

I have been going to this location since I moved to Atlanta 4 years ago. I never had issues prior to this year but this business has gone downhill. Twice I have had scheduled appointments and been called the day of or the day prior to reschedule. The first time I was asked to come in 15 mins. earlier then my scheduled appointment time then made to wait in the waiting room for 45 mins. Just today I received a call from them stating that they were not able to see me at my scheduled appointment time (which was scheduled 6 months ago). They offered me other appointment times which conflicted with my work schedule then told me that I would not be able to be seen until January 2020! The office is extremely nice, and the employees are also nice. That being said.. I've had so many odd experiences with this place, I'm wondering why in the world I would ever keep going back. I found Town Dentistry by way of referral, from my most selective friend, so I figured TD would be the best of the best. First visit for a routine cleaning, I was told that I had multiple cavities that required immediate attention. I found this very concerning as I take great care of my teeth and have had zero cavities in all my thirty years. However, against better judgment, I scheduled my work to be done a few weeks later. When I received the "bill" from this appointment, I was surprised to see multiple charges for things that made no sense, that my insurance did not cover. I called them to inquire, and they apologized and said that of insurance doesn't cover those specific charges, they write off. No clear explanation of what they actually were. That was the second red flag. When I went in for my fillings, I'm not sure what is normal, so I'm not sure that I can comment on this particular moment. However- afterwords I was left with extreme pain in my upper jaw that I had never, ever had before. When I called to inquire, I was told to take Motrin. This pain lasted a month, before I asked for an appointment right away to get clarity on why this would be. They told me they could not find anything. They also found a gap in one of the fillings that they claimed was a common occurrence NOT BY ERROR IN THE ORIGINAL WORK. They asked me to reschedule to correct and casually added that I would have to pay for it to be redone if I chose to have it fixed. I decided to wait and see if the pain went away. Meanwhile, receiving a bill for my appointment to see why my mouth was in such pain after the original fillings I supposedly "needed". That's the point where I reached the end of my patience, and it took approximately ten phone calls for them to finally agree to not charge me for telling me there was a gap in my filling that they had just done. Palm to face. No way was I returning for them to charge me again for to correct what I already paid for (originally paid almost 400 after insurance because their prices are so outrageous due to only using "premium products"). Fast forward to last week, after going in to see if they could figure out this continuous discomfort, my new dentist breaks the news to me that this "gap" was a huge mistake when originally filled, and I must have a correction ASAP or get a root canal. I paid another $400 out of pocket to correct what Town Dentistry supposedly did. Three hours of work an inlay and losing half a tooth to fix. I called Town Dentistry to speak with them about sending over my original x-rays, and reim for the original work that they clearly were not competent to do, and have not heard a single word. Add that to about 7 months of pain.. please avoid this place at ALL costs. Update- The owner of Town Dentistry called about a month after posting this. She apologized, emailed X-rays, and refunded my portion of the out of pocket expense for the work. read more

I still have more work to be done, but I love this place so far!***** I always said that if I ever were a teacher, I would start my students at 100% and let them decide their own destiny. Same concept applied here, but I'm starting at 90% because I have to go back into the office for some stuff, and I gotta be sure that it's not freshman luck. The office is modern in it's decor. That's a breath of fresh air! I mean, we aren't walking in to see grandpa, our dentist, and sit in a sterile or stoic waiting room. They made me friendly! Perhaps it was the relatable staff (age & atmosphere), or it was me in a good mood cuz I found a good parking space in this *VERY CROWDED shopping center.* $$$$: Tidbits, otherwise known as the reason you use Yelp: *Vania the assistant is awesome and friendly. *They have TVs (I don't watch tv, but I caught up on a few politics on Cspan or whatever that channel is called that have the politicians get up and bash each other) *They have a service animal... I get it... It's legal, and quite frankly it's a nice touch (dogs in a building will not effect the outcome of your dentistry... We live in Brookhaven and needed a dentist for my daughter so while eating some great pizza, we went up to Town to get a quote on basic exam and x-ray. We were quoted $135 so we came back. We had that done and it was fine but when we checked out, we were charged $175. I called to check on the discrepancy and we were told that that was the price but they would check with the dentist and call back. I did not receive a call back so I called again and was told they will check and call back and it has been 10 days and no still no call back. We were told my daughter had to have 2 fillings and the cost was $620 which seemed kinda high to me and seeing that we had an issue with the initial exam, we decided to get a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion was a good option. First, Reilly Dental in Marietta has a first visit is a free evaluation. We emailed the x-rays and they determined that were not clear so they did another for us at no charge. What they determined is that the cavity large and too close to the nerve and likely to cause infection. So they pulled the teeth out for $300 and now I have a happy daughter. So my complaint is not charging what was quoted and misdiagnosed trying to put in fillings that was not the best decision. Other than the issues, everyone was nice. I had a crown come off and Lina (sp?) the Assistant Front Desk manager and the front desk young lady, worked together to squeeze me in. I have a long-standing fear of the dentist, due to several bad experiences and a mouth that needs a crazy amount of work. I have come in contact with two of the dentists, three hygienists, and one wonderful office worker and they are all kind and gentle souls. When working on me, there are constant reassurances and updates from all parties, which I find very comforting. They are also upfront about costs and long term plans. Pressure Sales I had the wierdest experience here the other day when I went for the second half of my deep cleaning. First half went well, no complaints. Went back for the second half - and that's where it got weird. I knew before I sat down they were going to try to upsell me for a new numbing technique, but I was completely unprepared for the BADGERING that took place! The minute I sat down they started asking, and when I politely declined all I heard was "Hope it doesn't hurt. Hope the needles work. Hope it's not too painful. Gonna have to deal with the pain." Etc, etc, etc. It was crazy to the point where I stopped them from talking and said "FINE!! If it's that serious I will try it!" But then, to add insult to injury in my opinion, when I started to ask questions about the upgrade: Does it work better? Does it hurt less? Do people like it more? Have you ever tried it?, the only answers I got were "I don't know, haven't tried it and some like it, some don't." So not only did they want me to pay for the upgrade(which had nothing to do with my choice), they couldn't tell me if it was even going to work! AND THEN after I recanted my accepatance, the hooplah started right back up! It was again with the "Hope it doesn't hurt! Too bad you have to endure the pain now, etc, etc. Completely unprofessional and rude! AND when the numbing process was going on - I HONESTLY BELIEVE SHE WAS TRYING TO MAKE IT HURT MORE BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET THE UPGRADE!!! And the fact that I didn't get the courtesey check by the Dentist afterwards, and had to practically beg for the standard toothbrush etc they give at each visit made it seem all the more real. I am a medical professional and being in this situation made me completely uncomfortable! I can only image what it would have been like to pressured in this way and not be accustomed to how the medical world works. It's a beautiful office and everyone seems nice enough, but I won't be back. I hope they read this and ease up a bit, because otherwise the place was fine, but this unacceptable behavior. read more

I am relatively new to the area, and I knew it was time to find a new dentist. I was referred to this practice, and was excited that I was able to make an appointment so quickly. I arrived ten minutes before my appointment as requested, but when I got there the door was looked and the only movement inside was from a dog (yes, a dog! In a dental office!) running around. The staff did not get back from lunch until after my appointment time, and was not apologetic about it. When I finally got in the chair, the hygienist was pretty rough and sloppy. I've never been scared to go to the dentist but it was pretty uncomfortable. Both she and the dentist chastised me for my oral health even after I explained my past history. Dr. Bussey never even introduced herself until the end when I asked her how she pronounced her name. I'm always wary of businesses who push clients to write reviews, because I feel like if you're truly offering a great service you don't have to ask. I received a solicitation to write a review even before my appointment and twice afterwards (not counting when I was asked in person). **Update** The date after I posted this review, Jason (the receptionist/Dr. Bussey's husband) called me in the middle of my saturday afternoon. I told him upfront that I was not going to remove or change my review, but he continued on in a monologue about how great their office is, and that their Chihuahua is a "service animal" for those with emotional/behavioral issues as well as young children (his words, not mine). For him to take the time to find my name and cellphone number felt like an invasion of my privacy and made him sound desperate for my business. Now I know why there are so many good reviews for this practice because if you write a less than glowing review, they will call you about it. read more

Disclaimer: This review is unfortunately not for any services received!!! A few weeks ago, while trolling on the internet and Yelp, I came across Town Dentistry and the awesome reviews. Since I needed to see a dentist, I called to make an appointment and spoke with Jason who was so helpful and friendly. I told him that I wasn't sure if he was in my network. Most times, I have been redirected to contact my insurance to find out (Ok, I was just lazy and didn't have my dental insurance card handy so I skipped this step). Jason took down my information and actually called the insurance for me but found out that they were not within my network. He called me back and gave me the bad news. He further took the time to explain to me the different codes that cleaning, x-rays etc. would be under in case I wanted to call my insurance and get an estimate of what each would cost since they were not being helpful to him. For someone to actually a) take the time and make these calls and b) keep the patient (or potential patient in this case) informed really shows that they have top notch customer service! Even though I won't be able to go to them (which really, really bums me out), just knowing that they are going to take these extra steps leads me to believe that they would go over and beyond on other aspects of their service too. Ok, I'm not a fan of going to the dentist as most people agree with me. This must be my third dentist in three years since I move every year it feels like. My fear of dentists doesn't really help when I have to find a new dentist every year. But this office totally helped me over come those fears. I came in about a month ago for a routine cleaning and the appointment went smoothly. I was about 15 minutes late and to my surprise, they still went through with my appointment! I hadn't gotten a cleaning in about a year so I was a bit afraid of this appointment. Initially during the appointment, I was in so much pain but I came out of the appointment with super clean teeth! To clarify, I later had a root canal done on one of my molars, which is why the cleaning was so painful. But I love a good cleaning, makes me feel like they're doing their jobs. The staff here are super friendly, and will explain your treatment beforehand. The ladies in the front will work with you on scheduling your appointment, and will even call if there are earlier openings that may come available. Town Dentistry rocks! I have come here several times. ..from teeth cleanings to fill ins and I always leave pleased. The dentists are always polite and make you feel welcomed and comfortable. As they are working on my teeth, they keep me informed on what they are doing to my teeth. Dr. Bussey even warned me to close my eyes just in case I didn't want to see the needle that was about to be stuck in my gums. I love to be able to watch TV with headphones as they are working. I have incredibly sensitive teeth and gums and she was patient, skilled and accommodating. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and the reason behind it. Town Dentistry is awesome!!! I've been going there since 2013 and they have always made me feel welcome. This past weekend, one of my "fillings" fell off and I needed to get it fixed. I called first thing Monday (11/9) morning and to my surprise they were able to get me in that morning! Wow! Dr. Thompson and Blake were amazing! They took the time to explain the procedure and made sure that I was comfortable with the result. The filling was a perfect match and you can't even tell that it's chipped. They did an awesome job! I was about to leave and I realized that I had a conflict with my next scheduled cleaning so they asked if I had time to do it now. I said yes and back in the chair I went. Vania does my cleanings and she is really good. The cleaning is quick and thorough and she always makes sure to explain to be what I need to do to improve my dental health (i.e. more flossing, waterpik, etc.). You have to wonder about a place that gives you a price of $105 for a first time visit when you are calling around to find out pricing on a couple dentists' services - and then when you call back to make the appointment with them they tell you that the first visit price is going to cost $380 (more than 4x the first price they quoted) and even though it concerns you, you make the appointment but when the day of the appointment arrives they tell you that they never booked the appointment - and let you know that it was written down in the notes about you - that you were a "problem client" because you had questioned them on their used car salesman practice of low balling a price and then selling you an overpriced lemon and blaming you for it all. I started going to Town Dentistry in February of this year and have been pleased with every visit! The things that are important for me in a Dentist & Hygienist are that they are on-time and gentle when they work on your teeth. The technology and customer service come second to those but are important too. Fortunately, Town Dentistry does all of those well! I've had four visits with them to be exact and each and every time Dr. Bussey, Jason and all of the staff have been very courteous and extremely prompt... which is very important to me. I can trust that if I have a 1 hour appointment, I will be out in less than an hour. I have had 1 appointment with Dr Bussey and she was the most gentle dentist I have had to date, I have had 3 appointments with Audrey the "Hygenius" and she is also incredibly gentle. Audrey's hygiene appointments have been actually been so gentle that I didn't even need to be numbed with the needle! She gave me only the numbing gel on my gums. That in itself was pretty awesome. Plus she was cool and easy to talk to, bonus. I did need to get the needle during the dentist appointment but that was for a filling so I expected that, still it was very painless. I don't post on yelp often (ever?) but Jason asked if I would after I was telling him that it's the best experience I have had at the dentist. They are always professional and quick. The office is clean and very modern looking. I've been going to this dentist for several years and have had a great experience every time. The entire staff is friendly. They are always punctual, I've never had to wait to be seen (with an appointment). They are efficient but thorough and I have yet to be poked in the gums or asked open ended questions while their hands are in my mouth. I will say that they seem to submit their claims to my insurance a little odd but I'm not very knowledgable about that whole process so take that "con" with a grain of salt. read more

I went in for a first time checkup. I was told I need a veneer removed and a cavity filled under it, or my tooth would fall out. I have had very few cavities in the past. I got a second opinion who said do not remove the veneer. We don' see a cavity, but a dark area with veneer. Will monitor it in the future. May just need cleaning. read more

The staff is friendly, the office is nice. The dentists and hygienists are professional and skilled. The billing staff and management are incompetent bordering on negligent. When I first reached out to schedule an appointment, they confirmed via email and over the phone that they took my insurance. I received a surprise bill after my second visit for the first for hundreds of dollars. It was at this point, after my first cleaning and set of x-rays and now some drilling and filling, that I was notified they were out of network. I received a new bill for $800 dollars. When I reached out about it, I was told that the filling they used is considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance. When I asked why they didn't mention this up front, they said because "only old dentists use the non-white filling. The white is better for quality of life, so everyone uses it these days." When I brought up to their financial manager (Raquel) that I was not told this ahead of time, and I had written confirmation that my insurance was in-network but now was finding out that wasn't the case, she promised to remediate the bill, and instructed me not to pay it until they called me back. This was in June. In October, I received a threatening letter about my outstanding balance. Raquel had never called me back. I reached out to the practice again the day the bill arrived and left them a message. When I talked to them on Monday, the practice manager Dan heard my story, apologized, and said he'd call me back that day. I got a call from Raquel this morning (Friday) no word from Dan confirming my cleaning on Monday. I called back, could not reach Raquel, and spoke with somebody, I never got a name. Thoroughly disgusted at this point with the lack of professionalism and what now feels like outright lying, I paid the outstanding balance that they should be covering on account of their own malfeasance, and hung up the phone, canceling my appointment. Avoid at all costs. They are unprofessional and will say whatever it takes to ameliorate a situation in the short term to stave off responsibility in the long term. Update: I just received a voicemail from Jessica (who was, as always, incredibly polite and personable) letting me know they wrote off part of my balance. While I appreciate this, the review stands. I said during my first conversation with Raquel that my experience was worth the extra expense, that was continent on a more transparent, informed experience in the future. The warning to future patients is about their poor communication, lack if internal knowledge, and lack of follow-through on what have now been revealed to be empty promises. If I had to guess, it feels like somebody in a leadership position is pressuring the staff to provide customer service above and beyond what they as individuals and an organization are capable of taking action on. If that is the case, situations like mine will continue until that culture changes. read more

After my initial visit, I added appointments for my husband and 2 daughters. There is little to no wait time for your appointment. I really like that I am notified by text (or email, they take your preference) of my upcoming visit, a few days ahead of time. When I made the initial appointment, I was given an approximate time duration of the visit (for a cleaning), and that definitely helped with day planning. I'm a nervous dental patient (or have been in the past) and Dr. Bussey was happy to discuss my concerns and answer my questions, which eased my anxiety. Came in yesterday as I had grinded my gum open over the weekend. Some of the worst pain ever. Decided to pop over to this dentist. The place has really nice equipment and feels nice inside, that's about as good as it gets tho "Hints the 2stars rating". The dentist brings me back and we begin. She begins to tell me my gums are swollen and I've got a cut that needs to heel. Lol tell me something I don't know. Love this office, staff and dentist! They've always been accommodating with confirming insurance and offering options to have work done on a timeline. No hard-pressure sales for dental work that isn't needed, but was super attentive to a potential gum disease issue. A chipped tooth was the icing on the cake! The technology and training of Dr. Bussey is amazing and with it being a front tooth I was super-thrilled to find she could build it back like nothing happened! I found them through Angels Among Us Facebook page and i hadnt seen in dentist in a while because they give anixety due to previous dentist. Dr. Bussey and her staff are absoultely wonderful. They make you feel so comfortable while you are there. I was able to focus on the t.v. and not my cleaning which made it easier and go by quicker. Their office is lovel. I highly recommend seeing her and her staff. Amazing. read more

Amazing! Had such a great experience here at Town Dentistry! Hadn't been to the dentist in a couple years and I was worried that I might have a cavity. The dental assistant immediately made me feel at ease and was super down to earth. It's a very nice and modern space with all the latest technology. Dr. Bussey is very friendly and professional.
