Thought I found a good dentist after mine retired. WRONG. Won't work on your teeth unless you pay first. I've been a patient at least 5 years. So I paid first, IN FULL. My insurance covered half the expense. Insurance sent the dentist a check well over a month ago. That check belongs to me and they are sitting on it. The office has a dozen excuses as to why they haven't sent me MY MONEY. Why is is so hard to find a good dentist. A TRUSTFUL DENTIST. Prove me wrong. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. Rude, abrasive and arrogant office staff, they don't mind losing patients because they will tell you they have plenty of other patients. A smile ... "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love." Mother Teresa said. Ah, a smile ... when you smile all of those hormones in your body switch to their good feeling mode. When you see someone smiling it is hard not to experience at least a momentary feel good moment. But, what do we need to smile? TEETH ... Those whitened or yellowed collection of mini-squares that fill our mouths and whose ultimate upkeep falls on us. Brush, floss, rinse ... and go to the dentist with regularity. Frankly, in my life the going to the dentist with regularity has been an extremely difficult life process to take on. I have discovered more non-caring, careless, or just blah dentists who think nothing of breaking my bank account in my life time than I care to mention. If you were to carefully examine my 21st century dental upkeep you would definitely notice a gap in the connection between my mouth and professional dental care. I choose to blame the practitioners in New Jersey rather than to blame myself but truthfully for my health the blame has to fall right back on ... them (And, to think you thought I was going to accept a degree of personal blame.). It was during a noon time chew in the late Spring of 2016 that my relationship with the profession and my perception of "all dentists" and dental mega-offices changed. A "bridge" that I didn't know existed fell into my mouth and in panic I realized that dental work was no longer an option but in my mind an immediate emergency. Since, I was living in Buffalo I began to scramble calling numerous dental practices with panic in my voice wanting both an immediate appointment and a reasonable estimate as to the cost to my bank account (I was very accustomed to hearing of people mortgaging their homes for cavity care.). I narrowed my choices to two and made appointments with both spending the afternoon flipping my unattached bridge in my fingers debating the choice. But the choice was made when my phone rang and a kind representative of Town Dental called me back. the purpose of the call, "Dave, you sounded like you were panicking about your mouth. We just want you to know it's not a big deal and whoever you choose to go to will take care of it." Wait, they weren't my dentist ... they said whoever I chose to go to would fix it rather than saying they were my only choice. So, they became my only choice ... the care that day was extraordinary! Every staff member seemed to enjoy working in the office ... every patient seemed to enjoy talking with every staff member .... Dr. Piazza was professional and caring. I had hit the Dental Royal Flush (Or Rinse as the case might be.) that was verified when the cost was less than the estimate they had given me over the phone. I have subsequently returned to New Jersey (Hopefully on a temporary basis.) but I have found my dentist for life! Yes, I drive more than 300 miles from South Jersey to go to the dentist. Well, yes there is more to the trip than seeing "Doc" and have him work on my teeth but there is no other dentist I would go to. The initial bridge collapse in my mouth was a sign of some other dental problems but these have been cared for in the FIVE STAR PLUS manner that I experienced on that first day plus the price was significantly less than what friends had paid at their teeth pulling locations. Since I discovered Town Dental and Dr Piazza and shared my amazing positive experience Buffalo area friends have made the switch to Town Dental. Their reasons ... "half the price" ... "truly caring" ... "very professional." My one friend is being cared for by Dr. Sami and is happy that she changed. So, if you are adverse to having your mouth worked on by dental practitioners ... it is time to get brave for your health's sake and make an appointment with Town Dental ... say that guy from New Jersey who drives more than 300 miles to get his dental work done sent you! read more

This place is terrible. If I could give it a 0, I would. Dentist makes fun of you and laughs. Showed him a tooth was hurting and he said it was a VERY small cavity and couldn't drill it. 2 weeks later called because it really hurt and part of tooth cracked off. He stated "well we can't save the tooth so will have to extract it" What!!! In 2 weeks it did this? i don't think so. They wanted the higher bill to make more money. Oh and the $5 for cleaning instructions? No one ever showed me how to brush my teeth there. Another reason to run from this place.... went there to get an implant and after a week loose. He tightened it and in a couple days lose. Again looked and realized he tightened it too much and broke the bone. Now he states he can't do an implant and will need a bridge. Guess what?? I had to pay for it even though he was the one who damaged it. All I can honestly say is to run from this place. read more

My husband and I been going to see Dr Piazza since he was on Delaware Rd. The staff is wonderful, and we've always been treated with respect. Last Thur I had an appointment at 1:20, but I was running a little late so I called to let them know. The young lady who answered sounded annoyed when I told her and she replied that she'd have to check to make sure they could still take me. She came back on the line and said I would be fine as long as I made it there asap. I said I'd be there by 1:30 and that's exactly the time I walked in. I even joked that I made it right on the dot, but she didn't appreciate my comment. My husband accompanied me to the appointment, and while I was in the chair, he decided to go up to the counter and make an appointment for himself. When he approached her, she looked up at him with a sarcastic sigh, and he explained that he wanted to make an appointment. She sighed again and told him that appointments need to be done over the phone. What??? She made the appointment for him, but he could tell she wasn't happy about it. The thing is, he could have sat back down, pulled out his cellphone and called to make the appointment. What a joke. Clearly she doesn't have good customer service skills. This will not stop us from going to Town, but that attitude doesn't bode well for the practice. I know people will say maybe she's having a bad day, but you need to always set aside your personal issues and not take it out on patients. read more

Dr Piazza placed 3 "mini implants in my mouth. one of them had to be replaced 3 times ( over 8 years) and the other two were constantly causing infections. when I would go in to have them removed or replaced he assured me that they were in perfect position. He would then prescribe antibiotics and it would temporarily clear up. three years ago I went in with an obvious infection and he began to tell me the same old story. perfect placement , and I could even check with another dentist and they would tell me the same thing. I did go to a gum specialist and was told they needed to be removed immediately as the ongoing infections were causing severe bone loss. Specialist diagnosed me with Peri-implant it's. a destructive inflammatory process affecting the soft tissue and hard tissues surrounding the dental implants. It cost me over $6,000 to remediate Dr Piazzas work. I was also unable to replace those implants as too much bone loss. read more

I love this practice. Everyone there is great and welcoming. Bedside manner is amazing. My teeth are terrible (bad genes) and over the years I've had dental assistants at other offices say some passive aggressive comments. Not this office. Their goal is to get your mouth right and make the patient happy. They really take the fact that most people hate having dental work done seriously and try to make you as comfortable as possible. I see dr.piazza. I will never see anyone else. He has saved me more than a few times. Had a horrible abscess one time...he got me in right away. Now. We knew this was more than likely going to happen when the cavity first reared its ugly head but because I was pregnant at that time he was unable to do a root canal.... when the first antibiotic was failing and I called the office he was out he returned my call later that evening switched my meds immediately and said to call back when I was feeling better so he knew I was alright and to schedule my root canal. He always takes the time to explain everything in as much detail as I need or dont depending on where my anxiety level is at.. He showed me exactly where the infection was in the xray. I've been a patient for over 10 years. I have complete faith and trust in Dr. Piazza - and his staff. From something as simple as a cleaning to in-depth work such as a bridge and root canal. They treat you professional from the moment you walk in. With the current situation of Covid- their practice has gone out of their way to keep you and the staff. I have a young grandson that I asked if he could sit in on my older daughters cleaning, they were more than willing- they took a scared unsure little boy and made him happy to see the dentist and is looking forward to going home and cleaning his teeth with the new toothbrush he got. If you don't mind your dentist ripping you off then go here...this dentist somehow found a loophole in the system in which he charges every patient that walks through the door a "$5 office visit" for "oral hygiene instructions" which are not billable to your insurance ...essentially charging you $5 to talk to you about how you should clean your teeth. Of course I was in no way educated on how to clean my teeth during my visit even if this was something that I was in need of. I have never in my life been charged to be instructed on how to clean my teeth, nor have I ever had to pay a copay for cleanings at any other dentist in this area as my insurance covers cleanings for no charge. Cursed with bone loss and not very strong teeth throughout my life, I have had pretty much most procedures known to dental profession. I have had the good, bad, and the ugly experiences. Thankfully I have had really great treatment here. Michael and all the staff here are kind, personable, and very professional. What really sold me on Town Dental is they guarantee all the work that they do. I have had a number of innovative procedures, and with that comes some adjustment time. They have been more than able to accommodate me and my schedule to assist in the complete success of these procedures. Trusting a Dentist has always been a bit traumatic for me. I grew up in the era of "You don't need Novacaine for this tiny cavity." WRONG! With highly sensitive nerve issues this has never been the case here. I have had extractions, Mini-implants, and crown repair all managed by Michael. His calm demeanor, patience, and super nice assistance, have made these procedures go VERY smoothly. I have been a patient of Dr Michael Piazza for over 10 years. With out a doubt he is outstanding. I have in the past and will continue to spread the news of what a great practice this office is. If you are in the need of a dentist don't hesitate. Today I went in to have a crown replace and instead of having a mild made then a temporary and having to return 2-3 weeks later they have a new process and was able to take pictures of my area and within 20 minutes a new permanent tooth was made and fit perfectly. I ended my long-term association with this practice today when Dr. Piazza rudely, sarcastically, and aggressively denied my request that treatment staff double-mask for my protection. He would not let me finish a sentence, cut me off repeatedly, and was extremely rude. He indicated that his friends tell him that masks might not work anyway. I don't pay people to be rude to me or to fail to take basic health precautions. His temper was extremely unprofessional, and he was perfectly comfortable displaying it in front of other patients in the waiting area. This implies a lack of self-control that is disturbing in a person whom I am supposed to trust with fine implements in my mouth. Double-masking is the latest CDC recommendation (see attached article). I think that it is especially important when one party in an interaction -- the dental patient! -- can, by definition, wear no mask. The doctor's incivility, in combination with a conscious disregard for the maximizing the patient's physical safety and comfort level, is unconscionable. The dental hygienist also expressed unwillingness to double-mask before the dentist even got involved.
