Dr. Tyska and his assistant Kristen showed genuine concern and listened to feedback, demonstrating a commitment to patient care. The professionalism and dedication to resolving the issue were impressive. My daughter will soon be getting here braces with Dr. Tyska. But recently, I had such an unfortunate interchange with their office manager and staff. I called to book an appointment for my daughter to get a quote on another round of braces (she never wore her retainers and teeth shifted back). The front desk told me there would be a fee for return clients but not for new clients. That didn't make sense to me so I said no thank you. I already received a complimentary consultation elsewhere with a quote. And they did NOT charge me. The front desk told me she would have someone call me back. Sure. I got a call back and told the same thing. Ok. Then I proceeded to cancel my appointment. The office (wish I remembered her name), said she would ask the doctors and call me back (again). Days later I received a call and told there would be no fee. Great. My husband brought my daughter yesterday and sure enough, I am charged $85.00. Called and spoke to the office manager. She handled it very poorly, and kept explaining that they did a lot of "extra's" and that the $85 was actually a great deal. The thing is, I didn't ask for any extra's. I just wanted to know if I would be paying the same price for another round of braces and to see if I could get some kind of discount as a returning patient. This manager made a point to say that there was no record of my previous conservations and therefore, she would not do anything. I have worked for years in private practice - Manhattan - selling elective medical cosmetic procedures. I understand how this works. It is not about the money but about the practice keeping their word and honoring their commitment to the patient. I spoke to them 3x before our actual appointment and they still charged me. I am so disappointed with how they now run their business. Very sad indeed.

One of them was with Dr. Carlo. I found his office by searching in Apple Maps. I typed in "dentist" and I looked within a few mile radius of my home. Dr. Carlo happens to be less than a mile from my home. Perfect!! His office was able to get me in for an appointment within a few days which was nice because some places I called were scheduling months out. Yikes. I can't wait that long. I was directed to their website and instructed to download, print, and fill out the forms needed for my first appointment (dental/general health history, patient financial responsibility agreements, etc). Done. The day before the appointment I received a call from the receptionist reminding me of the appointment and to make sure I'd been able to print the forms from the website. I appreciated the thoroughness of that. The day of my visit I arrived an hour early due to a misunderstanding on my part. Rather than go home and come back, I decided to wait there. No big deal. The waiting room was clean and welcoming. I liked the way it was decorated and the procedure for check-in was pleasant. Dr. Carlo saw me right away (once it was actually time for my appointment, lol) and he was very knowledgeable. He was kind and seemed nice, and I did leave feeling confident in his abilities. Also, price-wise he was actually on the lower end of all the estimates I received. That's a plus!! However, I do feel you should be aware that he is a very fast talker. I'm originally from the Los Angeles area so I talk pretty fast. But this guy puts me to shame LOL. In a way it made me feel like I was being rushed and I think that, in part at least, ultimately contributed to me not selecting him for the needed procedure. The routine is essentially the same every time: she cleans my teeth, and then the dentist, perhaps not the same one every time, but usually Dr Randy, comes in and examines my teeth and checks for new cavities. I am very lucky in that I only ever need two cleanings a year. They send me home with a goodie bag of a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and of course, FLOSS. They are very flexible if you are uninsured, and they also offer payment plans. They offer a $99 per year plan for people who need more extensive dental work. Everyone there is so nice and friendly, and competent. I plan on being a life-long patient here.

As a new patient, I was able to get an appointment scheduled in just a few weeks. At past places, it has always seemed like it can take 6 months to get an appointment scheduled at a "good time." As a teacher I don't like taking time off for appointments, so I try to go 3:30 or later and those are always booked, here it was easy to get an appt relatively soon. The staff was very friendly. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very personable, she talked and was friendly, but didn't go overboard. Sometimes I find the hygienist gets too talkative when they have the tools in your mouth and it is a pain to talk, didn't find that here. They didn't suggest all sorts of work and things that needed to be done. My teeth aren't perfect. But I brush twice a day and try to floss most days a week and I feel that I have pretty good oral health. But some of the places i've gone seem to always suggest lots of different things I should have done, and I'm never very certain on if it needs to be done or if they just want to make money, but I didn't see that here. Overall, I am definitely not someone who loves going to the dentist, but the people at Batavia Family Dental made it an overall good experience.

These clever devils instead of a refund they issued me a credit so that id be stuck with them. So they adjusted my uppers like 4 times now and they still cut my gums and dont I dare think of eating with them. So today I was going in for an appointment i assumed was for a new partial. No they had me wait an hr just to have them adjusted again. I am so sick of the poor service. If anyone know what steps I could take id appreciate it. I've been a patient here for years and sometimes staff changes but, they always seem to have the nicest people. Today was no different as I had a general cleaning. My insurance coverage changed as I retired and the young lady helped me 100% and made the change seamless. Nice to see her upbeat demeanor and all the employees seem to enjoy their jobs.My regular gal who did the cleaning is very nice and gave some tips on better dental care. Dr S checked me out afterwards and I'm good for another 6 months. I've never been dissatisfied with my experience and actually don't mind going.

I wanted…read moremy two year old to experience the dentist for the first time, but for that to happen, I had to bring my mom to watch her while I finished up my appointment. But as I also have a 6 week old baby and no one else to watch her, she had to come too... My appointment started out with my 2 year old sitting on my lap in the chair while Rita the hygienist raised up the chair and looked at both her teeth and mine, and given that she's going through her painfully shy phase, this was a miracle... Rita then lowered the chair and held out her hand to take my daughter to my mom in the waiting area, and my daughter happily went with her (again, miracle!) Rita then x-rayed my teeth and was very gentle, I wasn't uncomfortable at all (unlike previous dental X-rays). She then started my cleaning. Halfway through my cleaning, my youngest started howling and we could hear her all the way in the waiting room. Rita paused my cleaning, had my mom bring in the baby and gave me 10 minutes to nurse her right in the chair. Once the baby was happily asleep, Rita resumed my cleaning. I didn't actually get to see the dentist as he got called out on an emergency, but he looked at my x-rays later and called me to tell me everything looked just fine. My 2 year old had a great time in the waiting room, there were tons of toys for her to play with and the receptionist even gave her a prize for being so good. The whole experience was so positive, both for me and my kids and I will never be switching dentists ever again! My two year old is still talking about going to see the doctor that helped her teeth!
