I work downtown and love to visit this place frequently. I haven't been there in a while but I love that they have a variety of foods for breakfast and lunch and that they are very affordable. My favorite coffee shop in San Jose, I come here everyday, sometimes twice a day, and look forward to it every time! They have excellent customer service usually greeting everyone by their first name, top notch coffee, and delicious food. My two favorite food items are the tuna sandwich and the meat lovers sandwich. I walk past Starbucks everyday and don't understand why people are willing to wait in line for average coffee when Towers cafe is right around the corner. This place is nice! I was a little confused about the location, I came from Market street and you go into the building and keep walking past the desk and it's right after the elevator. It's so cute inside. And I'm wondering if the guy inside was the owner. He seemed to know people by name as they came in, which was nice! I ordered the Al's breakfast sandwich. Sausage, scrambled egg, tomato, cheese, and a hash brown on an English muffin ($5.25 I believe). I can't eat egg, so when I asked for it without, he asked if I wanted something extra in exchange. Club sandwich on wheat bread was really good! Tons of meat, yummy bacon, and real mayo. (After not eating mayo for a long time, let me tell you, it was delicious.) It truly was a big sandwich! Service was quick, and the man and woman behind the counter (maybe the owners?) were so, so nice. It's a convenient place to grab a bite for those of you who might have jury duty across the street at the courthouse. Good customer service, decent food, and the restaurant interior is always clean. First Visit: I ordered a Tuscan Grilled Chicken Panini ($7.25), and a bag of chips (1.25). The panini was filled with grilled chicken breast, melted provolone, sun-dried tomatoes and homemade pesto sauce. The woman who made my panini didn't skimp on the ingredients, and she used sourdough bread, which tasted delicious. I recommend this panini. Second visit: I ordered a Club Burger ($6.50), chips ($1.25), and a small Iced Cafe Mocha Coffee ($2.95). The burger was filled with tomatoes, lettuce, red onions, bacon, American cheese, and a "beef" patty on a brioche bun (not 100% sure on the type of bun). The burger took maybe 5 minutes to make at most, which makes sense when you look closely at the "beef" used in the burger (picture below). It looked like the burger patty was sitting in a heater all day, and it also looked like a frozen patty you get at Safeway. The ice coffee was also a letdown, and it was probably the worst iced coffee I've ever had. The employee made the coffee right in front of my face, and acted like he was in a hurry, yet, I was the only person in the cafe at the time. As you can see in the pictures I added below, he barely mixed the coffee; there's plenty of dry mix and mocha syrup caked against the inner wall of the plastic cup... If I were to go back to Towers Cafe, it'd only be for the Tuscan Grilled Chicken Panini. read more

Decent sandwich/cafe shop. It was fairly empty during lunch times, so that didn't bode well for me. But, the food was a lot better than I thought it'd be, considering that it served a huge array of foods--from Po Boys to Chef Salads to Deli sandwiches. Oh! and today's lunch special was spaghetti. So, the menu was a bit all over the place. But, the food is edible, the people working there were super friendly, and I got to watch an infomercial about hair plugs the entire time I was there. Service: The service is friendly and fast, most of the time. I recall one time it took nearly ten minutes to receive a bowl of diced watermelon. Food: They have a vast selection. It's mostly American deli and cafe food with a dash of Asian (Teriyaki Chicken & Salmon, Spring Rolls, Pad Thai.) Most of their food is consistently good. It's not 5 star, but it's filling. I do not recommend the soups here though. Especially the Lobster Bisque. It sounds so good, but it's not. Trust me. Just... don't. Walked passed Towers Cafe and decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it turned out to be a good decision! I got the chicken teriyaki over rice. It came with a portion of the teriyaki chicken sitting on top of some rice and steamed veggies. The chicken was cooked pretty well and I real enjoyed the sauce. My sister got the Tuscan chicken panini which was recommended by the lady. She said the pesto sauce was homemade, so why not!? I took a bite and was not disappointed. The pesto was delicious. I have worked in the adjoining tower for the last 7 years or so years. I have frequented this place for just as long. This cafe is clean, you are greeted with a smile and they don't skimp on ingredients. They make sure they give you exactly what you pay for and their prices are decent. Everything is made to order and you can taste the freshness in EVERYTHING. They have a great array of cold beverages both in their refrigerated aisle as well as soft drinks on tap. They have a full coffee/latte/espresso bar and also sell vietnamese iced coffee (sip the thing slow, cuz it's packed with kick you in your teeth jolt of caffeine). They have tons of sandwiches (cold and hot) and salads to choose from along with their soups of the day. Want a place to sit because you are just a ravenous hunger beast? They can provide you shelter from the outside elements as well as a few tables outside to enjoy the sunshine if you so please. Whatever tickles your fancy! They accept cash as well as credit cards. I heard they also deliver if you are in the vicinity and are in need to order in for a board meeting or conference wherein you need it catered.
