We got into an accident and one of their trucks happened to be one of the witnesses. The Tow Guys driver already had a car on the back but he helped stop traffic, called another tow truck to take our car, he made sure everyone involved was okay. I Called twice for 2 separate incidents and at different times. First thing the guy said was "Our prices went up" and gave me excuses why he couldn't do it.. ok, first of all, I was calling for a quote and if you don't have a truck available, I'll call some one else..I don't need to hear your excuses. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke, but I called to get an estimate again at a different time and the same thing happened.. You're better off calling 50 towing or Moana towing for professional, and excellent service. read more

My SUV broke down in Kamuela. I called the Tow Guys. I was thankful that they were able to accommodate me by towing my vehicle almost 50 miles to the repair shop. Preston did exactly what he said he would and I appreciate that. Honesty and integrity are hard to find in today's world. I watched as he loaded my Pixy (SUV's name) up on the tow bed. He even had the driver call me to let me know when he left Kamuela and when my Pixy reached her destination. I hope I never need to use you again but I am grateful you're there if I do. These guys are horrible. I have called 5-9 times to get them to help me which they said they would initially. For whatever reason, they just screen my calls like they are scared to deal with a customer that involves a gravel road and a car being disposed of. I called this last time and as soon as I told them about the job again then remembered and then stoped talking. I could still hear noise in the background and then they hung up like the connection was dropped. Then when I call back, they just route me to voicemail and don't pick up. I don't know what else to do except report these guys to better business bureau, consumer affairs and call my lawyer because they don't answer calls or return voicemails. If you are too impatient to work in customer service with angry customers you shouldn't work in customer service and the front desk lady has no class. This co. also operations under RT Services which is a repo company. i was in a nearly fatal accident while traveling abroad and was hospitalized for a few months. A few days before returning to Honolulu I called the bank to notify them I would be paying my acct in full cash through moneygram instant transfer. My car was still repod a day later. It was the tow company asking me for personal info lying, pretending to be the bank after hours. Cooperating with my bank I paid off the note which took weeks over a holiday break while charges incurred. When it was finally approved for release, RT refused to take my call. And I incurred charges over a long holiday weekend over 6 days. On the 6th day I spoke to someone who hung up on me on three occasions. They hung up on my daughter on 3 occasions. And my friend called 18+ times. They refused to allow me to make a payment to receive my car. I had the financial hardship of having to rent a car for $300 a day over the weekend which I could only take on for 3 days. I am here in Honolulu to visit my daughter whom I never see and this has ruined my entire holidays because I have been on the phone nonstop for 10 days with the bank, RT services and my lawyer and the police. This is criminal and this company is a rip off. Now they are holding it for 48 hours (while daily rates ensue) and won't tell me why. Their only explanation is they are mad at me for yelling at the front desk lady for avoiding my call for 6 days. it is not legal to hold my car because you're butt hurt you got yelled at for not giving me my car back. Now I'm afraid if they keep the car longer, It will be NY weekend and they will go on another 6 day vacation. I have to leave to LA to get bck to work because I spent all my vacation money dealing with this, and my daughter got very little for christmas. The front desk lady is a bitter rude lady, and has no heart. I just want to square my acct and pay what I owe, but seems like theyre trying to rack up the days so it becomes a burden and I lose the car so they can auction it. She already threatened to auction it, which she does not have the right to do. I've already contacted a lawyer and this is bullshit. read more

I needed a tow to transport a problem vehicle to Waimea to get serviced. My insurance company apparently uses TOW GUYS AAA. My coverage, via insurance, allowed a certain amount of mileage and whatever left it was going to be out of pocket. Understanding this, I went ahead with the tow. This morning I got a call from TOW GUYS quoting me my out of pocket expense. They told me it was going to be 5 more miles (24 miles) to tow the vehicle to the mechanic than what my insurance quoted me (19 miles). I told them that I believed they were in error, and that my insurance quoted me it would be 19 miles. The guy Dave, very rude, told me I had to 1) pay up front for the 24 miles or 2) follow the tow truck up to verify the mileage. This, as a customer, put me out for the day. However, I didn't trust them, and good thing I didn't! So I followed the tow truck up and the mileage I recorded was 18.8. Which is what I agreed to with my insurance company. HOWEVER, had I just believed them they would have ripped me off another 5 miles at $7.50/mile....$37.50! There's no accountability with them. I called them back to address the issue and tell them I was filing an incident report with my insurance company, Dave's response was not an apology but a threat. I couldn't believe it. He told me then he was going to make sure I never got a tow from them again...really for addressing that if I hadn't followed the tow truck up to verify the accuracy of the mileage I was going to be forced to pay an extra 5 miles of towing, therefor they wouldn't service me. That's not right. Needless to say I will never recommend them to ANYONE needing a tow. They may rip you off and if you address an issue you have with them, be sure you can handle a threatening comment. Although we are a small island, we need to hold our businesses to integrity and honesty at the least. At this point, the nicety of customer service is an added bonus. I hope my insurance company will find another towing company to use. read more
