One…read moreweek after my first visit, the color had washed out and the grey roots were clearly visible. To be fair, she got me in right away an recolored it, thankfully, because it looked terrible. After my second visit, the color lasted for two weeks but had to be corrected again. The roots didn't turn as grey, but my hair went from brown to copper red. Lorena was able to fix it within a couple of days, so I tried again. I hoped by then, she would do a better job. Unfortunately, that third appointment was not a good decision: so much of the color washed out, my grandson asked me if I had dyed my hair blond. This is not a problem I have ever had in the past, so don't understand why Lorena couldn't get it right. I finally gave up and switched to another hair stylist at a different salon. My color has been perfect ever since.

I went to see Christine at Renu after recommendations from my family members. Let me start by…read moresaying when I first contacted Christine -- I contacted her with not just your average call. I called her asking if I could have a side shave and add purple highlights to the tips of my hair. Having medium - long hair that's never really had anything different I wanted to and was excited to make a bold choice. I was nervous but wanted to feel comfortable doing it. Christine let me send her pictures of what I was hoping to do and when I arrived she was very sweet and took things slowly so that I could approve as I went along. We cut a small part of the side area short and then buzzed it. On top of this she added side swept bangs (I had NO BANGS) and gave me layers and styled it around my new side shave. At the end I felt I could shave a little more and she with no pressure did that for me. She was fun to talk to and when it came time to pay I was amazed by how much all that personal attention came at such a great price. (We may tackle the purple another time as we were both strapped for time this holiday season.) But steps one and two are done with a side shave for girls and new bangs! What's also great about Christine is that she errs on the side of conservatism with your cut first so that you're not shocked by her cutting too much off or filled with regret. She knows to start small and she can always cut more when you're confident it's what you want. She even advised that I see how I like it for a day or so and get used to it. My sister and I even said that I perhaps should shave more like i had initially planned since I didn't do quite that much and Christine said that's fine but still urged that get used to it and if I want to do more just to come back and she'll do it for free. She offered to keep up with my bangs and shave reasonably as it's a bit high maintenance and she also was respectful about the fact that I wanted to keep a feminine look to such a bold haircut. She is supportive, kind, abut not afraid to do what you want -- even if it takes you time to figure it out. I'll definitely be excited to go back to Christine for upkeep with my new do which I LOVE and know that i can call her as I gain the courage to be even more daring with my cut and she'll be there to make it happen. I have seen her with old and young clients and she is patient and courteous with everyone. She cleverly decorates her shop with the seasons and it's always very pretty inside and out.
