It was so nice that everything was laid out clearly. We knew how much time we had for each activity. Our first stop was to the national park. We were getting intermittent rain alternating with sunshine so it was pretty wet. Also the park is on marshlands so even more wet than normal land! lol. We got dropped off by one of the board walking trails. It's very scenic & beautiful despite the rain. The sun came out at times. So nice to get some fresh air & there were birds, frogs, fish all around. Our next stop was at the Presqu'ile lighthouse, beach & visitor center (all near each other). The beach is small & rocky but it was so nice to be near the water. After the lighthouse we got to wander around the small visitor center. It has two single washrooms, a small history room, & a small gift shop. Next was our lunch stop at the Big Apple. There are around 4 food trucks outside the main building. There's a petting zoo also. Inside the main building there are washrooms, a candy store, baked goods, souvenirs, a burger joint & a bar. I liked the big apple but it would be hard to get there without a car. I liked that we got to pay for our own lunch because that also meant we could get whatever we want. Sometimes the day trips include lunch & has a limited menu especially for people with food intolerances. After lunch we got to go to Old Mill Alpacas. Here we got to feed the alpacas, and walk the alpacas. The owner of the farm also did a quick talk about alpacas. It was very interesting! Because of the rain it was muddy of course so we got dirty but I didn't mind as I was prepared with my waterproof boots. Also short trips informed us of weather conditions in an email before the day trip. After the alpacas we had a 30 mins break for dinner at a highway enroute rest stop. Too bad these enroute places don't have better food options. Anyway short trips has no control over that. Our drop off was on time. Overall we really enjoyed our tour with short trips. We would go on another tour with them for sure. Since we don't drive or have a car this is a really nice way to see parts in Ontario we wouldn't normally be able to see.

Our guide Tim picked us up at the Fallsview Casino, which was convenient for us, before we picked up one more group of 2. The small group of us (4 plus Tim) was just the right size. Tim was very knowedgeable both about wine and the Niagra region. He took the time to get to know each of us and what tastes were like in wine. We stopped at 4 wineries (all were equally delicious, although I'd have to say my favorite was the red Ice Wine from Vineland) and each time Tim brought us inside, introduced us to the staff, and helped offer suggestions based on what he had learned about us. We also learned the proper way to taste at our very first stop. This was a welcome change from other tours we have done in the past where the tour bus simply stops in the parking lot while you go inside, sample, then come out when you are ready to leave. This was much more personable and made for an excellent tour experience. In addition to the 4 wineries we stopped at the Upper Canada Cheese company to sample their fine cheeses, as well as stopped mid-day in Jordan Village for lunch. The tour was well structured and you had plenty of time to shop after each tasting as well if you wanted to (although none of the wineries/staff were pushy in any way whatsoever.) Overall it was a great day, great experience, and I would certainly consider other future tours with Discovery.

The falls are amazing but when you ride right up to the falls and you can see them from water level there's just no describing how awesome and powerful nature is! The lines actually moved really quick especially for the amount of tourist that were there. The boat ride is around 20 minutes. The view of the falls from the American side is really good as well when you're riding by. If you're on the American side you can do the Maid of the Mist boat ride, they both take you to the same spot. American boat rides were blue ponchos while the Canadian side wears red. Great for an individual, couple or the whole family! Was not disappointed at all.

It was super easy to locate the meeting point for the boat. As soon as we walked past the main downtown area we saw the blue arches showing Niagara City Cruises. Online there was a disclaimer that even though you are booking a specific time you may need to wait past then to get onto the boat. We arrived at 10:20 for our 10:30 cruise and were promptly beginning out walk down towards the boat at 10:31. When you get to the meeting point for the boat you join a queue that then goes into the lift that will take you down to the boat. There are 2 lifts running at the same time so this process went quickly. Once we made it off of the lift we followed the signage for the departing boat. Before we joined the next queue to get onto the boat employees were handing out ponchos that were included in the ticket price. At this point there was a stand selling snacks and drinks. We did not take advantage of this at this time, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. We conrinued to head towards the next queue which would lead us onto the boat. We had the option of riding on the top of the boat or the bottom, and we chose the top. It was quiet crowded up there but it did seem like no matter where you stood you had a view-and you were going to get soaked. We were absolutely drenched. They take you right to the bottom of the falls. It was an amazing experience that I am so glad that we did! After our trip I watched the later boats going to the falls and I was shocked at how close the boat actually takes you. At some point the most from the falls was so thick I couldn't see. It felt like we were in a rain storm and we were all cracking up and how crazy it was. This tour is 20 minutes which seems like the perfect amount of time to get drenched. We saw both falls, and no matter what side of the boat you are on you are going to have a great experience. Getting off of the boat was quick and easy. They offer recycling for the used ponchos. When you continue on you will run into the food and drink stands as well as ample seating and restrooms where you can regroup before continuing on. They do take your photo before you get onto the boat, and you have the option to buy it for $50 CAD. This include 2 8x10 prints and a digital download. They do add fun backgrounds to the photos, and they do look like there was some kind of editing done to make the image look a little finer. Converted to USD I thought it was a good price for a great souvenir. I will be hanging the photo in my house! We had very little interaction with the employees, which I feel was a result of them operating efficiently. We didn't have any hold-ups from the time we arrived to when we exited. At the end you queue for the lift to take you back up to the original booth for Niagara City Cruises. From there you can simply keep walking and enjoy the view of the falls from the trail. Quick, efficient, and no frills for a fair price.

Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost.

But the day we went was on and off rain, and it turns out the train is battery/electric run so it does not operate unless the ground is completely dry. Wish we would have known this beforehand as the entry fee is kind of hefty if the one thing your kid was excited for didn't end up operating. They require closed toe hiking or running shoes to enter. The suspension bridge trail and the caves trail were really neat. If you have a toddler 2 or under you might need to carry them part of the caves trail as there are some tricky slippery spots. The suspension bridge trail is much easier and you get a great view from the bridge. The playground is big and fun. You can also buy fish food (25 cents) to feed the fish, though you're more likely to get gulls fighting over the fish food than to see any fish. We did see a big trout though which was neat! Besides the train not operating, and the kind of cold and wet weather, this would have been a great summer day activity. They let you bring your own food inside to have a picnic. And once you get your wristband you have in and out privileges all day which was nice. We wiuld have enjoyed this more if it was warmer and not raining.

Review for Zoom Tours Niagra Falls ---1 star and…read more Tour Guide, Garry---4 stars 4 Stars for our Tour Guide First, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our personable, kind, respectful, knowledgable, and hospitable tour guide, Garry, with Zoom Tours to Niagra Falls on July 15th, 2026. Garry had a great sense of humor while also being earnest. We learned a lot, laughed often, and enjoyed the other tourists on our bus. 1 Star for Transportation (false advertising) The bus however, was advertised by Zoom Tours as: "Transportation by luxury minibus or motorcoach". As a former teacher who has taken students on numerous field trips, this was nothing fancier than a school bus:  the vinyl seats were horribly uncomfortable, and unlike a school bus, had no seatbelts.  To make matters worse, it appeared that the bus had zero shock absorption and poor suspension, as every nook, cranny, and bump were felt the entire trip. There were countless instances that all of us were jarred forward or up from our seats, through no fault of our driver.   Fifteen minutes into the tour the microphone began to produce annoying static until it eventually broke and did not come back on until the last quarter of the trip on the way back, which was still annoying because it was still producing static, making what the driver said undecipherable. We received a solicitous email from Zoom Tours after the tour requesting a review. I sent them a private email with the details in this review and they replied with an apology for our disappointment, an explanation, "due to an unexpected equipment change on the day of your tour, we had to substitute the originally scheduled vehicle to avoid cancelling the tour altogether". While I can appreciate "last minute" problems, this company also states that customers must give 24 hours cancellation notice in order to receive a full refund. We did not receive ANY notice of a change in "equipment", therefore not giving us a chance to proceed or cancel our tour. Zoom Tours' offer of a "small token of $50 Canadian Dollars" does not match the $294.68 U.S. dollars that we paid for something that we did not sign up for. We are very disappointed that Zoom Tours did not provide us with the ability to cancel as well their lack of adequate compensation for the many uncomfortable hours we spent on the full day bus tour to and from Toronto and Niagra Falls.

Very positive feedback on all accounts. My wife and I almost went on a tour for our honeymoon 30 years ago based upon our friends "then" recommendation. Things didn't come together then unfortunatley. But, this summer, for our 30th anniversary, we were going to "finally" take that honeymoon trip. Well, you know what happened Spring of 2020. No trip. Of course we are disappointed. I'm sure Beach's is disappointed too. BUT, I can say this. First of all, Beach's didn't cash my full payment check back in Feb or early March. Their policy was to take the deposit only and the rest later. They refunded that check without my asking. THEN, as they were forced to cancel the trip, they have offered full refund. No questions asked. You don't find good people running good business' like this everyday. While we have not yet been on the tour, every minute of working with Beach's has been professional and above expectations. We look forward to when we're all able to travel freely again and to when we can experience the Beach's hospitality on the road. Highly Recommended.
