I couldn't see when I was on the boat when it got near the falls because all the water mist was splashing at my eyes/face, it was that powerful. All I Could do was laugh and try to wipe my eyes. The experience puts a big smile on your face Short ride. You just have to do it

The provide a poncho (way better than the cave of the winds poncho, if you are doing both, save this one), the poncho of course is to protect you from the water, because that is what poncho's do. You have two choices here. 1) You can stay on the bottom deck of the boat, and I hear you can remain fairly dry, but I cannot attest to that as, you are at Niagara Falls, you should be on the top deck, getting wet! 2) The Top deck, the Upper decker, they have some seating up here, and great views. The boat navigates so that all sides of the boat get equal views of the falls and get to experience the massive mist generated, no it's not raining on you it's the falls. So, don't be one of those pushing into people/groups to get your shot, be patient you will get your turn. Yes there will be people taking selfies for the entire duration or groupies (not sure what its called if its more than 1), Yes they will claim part of the deck for the entire trip, this is easy resolved with a gentle nudge as they enjoy a small quick journey overboard and get the VIP experience. Wait no, don't actually do that, just ask people to move and/or take a picture of you with the falls in the background. Everyone was friendly!

Being that close to the falls really makes you appreciate how powerful and beautiful they are. If you're visiting Niagara Falls, this is definitely an experience worth doing. I'm glad I did it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to see the falls.

This excursion was a surprise I got for my guys when they went to Niagara Falls. I didn't even tell…read morethem about it until the night before, while they were at the hotel. I will admit I have never been out of the country, and Yelping was a little rougher for me when it came to restaurants. I just didn't know distances from the hotel to where I was looking for things to do. So, I left food to them. I had fun finding activities for them, and this boat ride ended up being another success on my scoreboard. You do have to schedule a time, but they ended up not checking the time, they just scanned the tickets I forwarded to my husband's email. Easy enough. So, FYI, the Canadian boat typically has more people on the cruise than the U.S. side. It was packed! Not sure how I would have like that, but those things don't bother them like they do me. They will get you very close to the falls, and you will get pretty wet, but they do give you a poncho before you leave on the cruise. The cruise was about 20 minutes for $42 Canadian dollars. It was definitely something they would do again. It was really easy for me to book. 9/24/25

We purchased the wonder park pass that gave us access to various Niagara Park experiences including Journey Behind the Falls for a two day window. You are given a yellow poncho to wear and then you descend down some stairs where you can view an history exhibit of a journey through time, from the formation of the Falls to the first Indigenous inhabitants and the rise of Niagara Falls as a global tourism destination. After the history exhibit, you descend 125 feet and explore 130-year-old tunnels through the bedrock, where you can feel the thunderous vibration of the Horseshoe Falls long before you see them. The cave-like portals that open behind the falling water, allow you to see, hear and feel the power of the falls up-close from a unique viewpoint. Then make your way to the lower observation deck at the foot of this 13-storey-tall wonder where you stand just feet away from the mighty Niagara Falls, surrounded by the ancient rock formations carved by centuries of flow. This was such an incredible experience to view Horseshoe falls from the perspective of both behind the bedrock and below the falls. Captures some amazing memories and photos of the experience.

Thrilling attractions and interactive exhibits, riverfront hiking trails, and delectable dining options. While I was here, I spent time exploring many of the trails throughout the park with gorgeous views of nature that was well maintained. The park has amazing views of the falls. I participated in the Cave of the Winds experience where I descended 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge and feel the water flowing off the Falls from the Hurricane Deck. I got a ticket to the Niagara Falls State Park Observation Tower where I saw the only panoramic view of all three cataracts that comprise Niagara Falls, including the American Falls. I ate at Top of the Falls Restaurant that offers American-fare lunch and dinners and a panoramic view of the Falls. You can access The Maid of the Mist boat tour in Niagara Falls, N.Y. From the park. I did not purchase tickets for this experience since I rode the boat on the Canada side. Definitely a must see natural wonder.

Obviously you pay way more money to take this tour, than to do these destinations on your own, Pros and Cons? Certainly. Pros: -They pick you up at either your hotel, or a designated area. -You get to go to the highlight spots without having to purchase separate tickets. -You do not have to pay for parking, or attempt to find parking for each of the attractions. -Border crossing could not be more easy. Cons: -You may not get to spend as much time, or you may spend too much time for you, at each of the attractions. -You are tied to a group, so part of the pace of you journey is tied to the others you are bundled with. -The "Lunch" stop. Yes you can pack your own, you can purchase at the designated spot which has a store and a Maple Syrup tasting, but clearly this is a designated tourist trap and of course the stop here was quite long. -The sign in the front of the van to "Tip your drivers, that 20% is customary as this is how they make the majority of their wages"
