We purchased the wonder park pass that gave us access to various Niagara Park experiences including Journey Behind the Falls for a two day window. You are given a yellow poncho to wear and then you descend down some stairs where you can view an history exhibit of a journey through time, from the formation of the Falls to the first Indigenous inhabitants and the rise of Niagara Falls as a global tourism destination. After the history exhibit, you descend 125 feet and explore 130-year-old tunnels through the bedrock, where you can feel the thunderous vibration of the Horseshoe Falls long before you see them. The cave-like portals that open behind the falling water, allow you to see, hear and feel the power of the falls up-close from a unique viewpoint. Then make your way to the lower observation deck at the foot of this 13-storey-tall wonder where you stand just feet away from the mighty Niagara Falls, surrounded by the ancient rock formations carved by centuries of flow. This was such an incredible experience to view Horseshoe falls from the perspective of both behind the bedrock and below the falls. Captures some amazing memories and photos of the experience.

The higher platform was so close to the waterfall!! The employee said he didn't think the ice at the portal views would thaw out til April. Tip- don't buy anything from the private tours, buy directly from Niagara parks and you will save with the Wonder pass. February 2026- Adult ticket for Behind the Falls is $28, wonder pass is $65 and includes power plant $33 and Take Flight $33 and two days of unlimited railway, plus others. This is time for something completely different! A couple of things - the walk starts at 8:30pm,…read morenot 7:45 or 8 like on an old picture that's posted. Additionally, it starts at 4337, not 4317 Queen St. prices remain the same, though. Our guide, Linda, was prompt at 8:30 for our small group of 8. Others who showed late decided to come another day. Linda is a history buff, but within her close to two-hour tour you learn she grew up in the area. As a young teen in the 70s, she would sneak out with her friends at night to get around the old buildings and spooky ghosts. She, later in life, would then cull a lot of public records and newspaper articles to learn the history of many of the old buildings and the stories about who owned them and who died in them. She then had something to say about each building we walked by. Some now owners don't want anything said, some have had tv shows feature them, and sometimes newer generation family members of those she had talked about on tour have been on the tour. There are some places she will not stand - she'll tell you on the tour why. Unfortunately, a lot of these formerly grand buildings have been abandoned for decades. Overall, Linda likes what she does, and knows what she is talking about. She tells her stories in a pleasant way and was very easygoing. She has been involved with séances, and has run overnight ghost haunts. I'm not so sure I'd be into that kind of thing. Maybe? So there are reported ghosts and sightings and feelings and haunts. Linda believes and will gladly tell you about it. It's cool. $65 Canadian including tip for 3 adults, 1 kid. Kids go to age 13.

I really like how the folks who organized the tour make it a point to talk to all the folks in the group to try and get to know where everyone is from and a little about the family. It felt personable and not like you're another body on their tour but that they genuinely want to know where their "guests " are from; not just another customer. I would recommend their tour to anyone looking to do one. Maid of the mist was the coolest experience! What a view of all the falls. Would recommend a camera with a handle of some sort. Horseshoe falls was windy and wet! I was worried about dropping my phone. A lot of people start pushing to get to the railing of the ship. Not everyone on the boat is from your tour group. We got on the boat and stood by the side rail of the boat to get the view. My son and I were standing there by ourselves and people start filling in. As you get close to the falls people push you out of the way to try and squeeze in to get their photo. We were literally pushed out of the way. Hence the reason I was worried about dropping my phone. Cave of the winds also an experience but not what I was expecting. Maybe I didn't do my research but, I thought it was something different. The staircase down to the falls was pretty cool, you really get a glimpse of how powerful the falls are. You're right up there next to the American fall, it was very wet and windy. I got a little nervous, if you drop anything, it's gone. Hard to take pictures with hurricane force winds and the amount of water coming at you. Definitely suggest a camera with some sort of a handle or something. Saw a certificate in a gift shop that said I survived the hurricane winds of cave of the winds...had I have known it was going to be what it was I might have chosen not to do this part of the tour. But at the same time it was a pretty cool experience. I have no regrets doing it, just wasn't expecting to get blasted and soaked by the falls!

Again one of those must do's while here in Niagara falls. Is…read moreit crowded? Yes but the lines move fast as there are plenty of boats. The provide a poncho (way better than the cave of the winds poncho, if you are doing both, save this one), the poncho of course is to protect you from the water, because that is what poncho's do. You have two choices here. 1) You can stay on the bottom deck of the boat, and I hear you can remain fairly dry, but I cannot attest to that as, you are at Niagara Falls, you should be on the top deck, getting wet! 2) The Top deck, the Upper decker, they have some seating up here, and great views. The boat navigates so that all sides of the boat get equal views of the falls and get to experience the massive mist generated, no it's not raining on you it's the falls. So, don't be one of those pushing into people/groups to get your shot, be patient you will get your turn. Yes there will be people taking selfies for the entire duration or groupies (not sure what its called if its more than 1), Yes they will claim part of the deck for the entire trip, this is easy resolved with a gentle nudge as they enjoy a small quick journey overboard and get the VIP experience. Wait no, don't actually do that, just ask people to move and/or take a picture of you with the falls in the background. Everyone was friendly!

This is a must do experience if visiting the Niagara Falls state park. How else can you get so…read moreclose to the majestic waterfalls? I mean there's also Cave of the Winds but that's a more intense experience. I decided to visit during late afternoon so there wasn't much of a crowd. They load the ships every 20 minutes or so as each trip takes about 20 minutes. Definitely wear waterproof clothing or clothing that easily dries if you can because from the knees down, it will get soaked and maybe the sleeves too. I put my phone into a waterproof bag to capture the ride and a good thing I did because otherwise it would've gotten drenched. Tickets can be pre-purchased online or day of. Check the hours before visiting as they change depending on the season. An elevator took me down to the bottom where I got my poncho and lined up to board the ship. Apparently these ponchos are thicker than the ones at Cave of the Winds (so the rumors say). I made sure to pull the hood on tight and secured it with the plastic strings and it definitely held up against the waterfall winds! I got a blue one when I visited but noticed the next day, they were handing out red ones (twinsies with the Canadian Hornblower). Top deck is the spot to be to get the best experience. The ship brings us by one of the falls that has a light mist blowing towards us with a gentle wind. Then as we got closer to Horseshoe Falls, boy could I feel the wind and mist blowing my poncho around. My sleeves, pants and shoes were drenched and the water was blowing so fast at me that I could barely see! It was actually so much fun to experience! How else can I get this close to the falls? Wearing sunglasses also helped to keep some of the water out of my eyes. The ship stayed there for quite a while before making a U turn to head back to land. It really felt like I was in the middle of a torrential downpour. Afterwards, take another elevator up to the observation deck to get another great view of the Niagara Falls. Honestly this was so much fun, I definitely want to try the Canadian version too next time! And maybe Cave of the Winds (on Goat Island).

I will admit I have never been out of the country, and Yelping was a little rougher for me when it came to restaurants. I just didn't know distances from the hotel to where I was looking for things to do. So, I left food to them. I had fun finding activities for them, and this boat ride ended up being another success on my scoreboard. You do have to schedule a time, but they ended up not checking the time, they just scanned the tickets I forwarded to my husband's email. Easy enough. So, FYI, the Canadian boat typically has more people on the cruise than the U.S. side. It was packed! Not sure how I would have like that, but those things don't bother them like they do me. They will get you very close to the falls, and you will get pretty wet, but they do give you a poncho before you leave on the cruise. The cruise was about 20 minutes for $42 Canadian dollars. It was definitely something they would do again. It was really easy for me to book. 9/24/25
