I'm writing this for my non-Yelping boyfriend who liked these guys so much he made me write a…read morereview. He needed to put the contents of his studio apartment into storage...a week before his lease was up. Lakeview Movers was able to help him at the very last minute. They were friendly, quick, efficient, and very affordable. He doesn't have a car and was planning to take a cab to/from the storage facility. The movers offered to take him to the storage facility...and then they gave him a ride back home! Awesome customer service. He plans to use them again when he brings his things out of storage and into a new apartment.

I was feeling pretty anxious and desperate when I turned to Craigslist in my search for movers…read more(after having contacted multiple bigger moving companies, whose rates and minimum time requirements didn't match what I was looking for). Shawn's ad immediately stood out from the rest because it linked to his yelp page- hooray! I am forever grateful for this means of getting the real scoop, and think it's a great idea for smaller companies/laborers to have a page that sets them apart from the sketchier folks on Craigslist. The glowing reviews were right on the money! Shawn and Eden left my apartment less than a half hour ago and I'm happy to give them another great review. My move was as below: -From a 6th floor apt with an elevator that leads to the back alley to a 3rd floor apt with no elevator, approx 2 miles away. -One medium sized sofa (3 cushions across), 2 ottomans, 1 dinette/breakfast table for two, and 1 very tall bookshelf Not too much stuff, and Shawn quoted me a $120 flat fee for two movers and his pick up truck. Though it's not necessarily INexpensive, compare it to big companies, who charge an average $90/hr for two movers, with an avg 2 hour minimum and $45 travel fee. I think I got a great deal, and if I had paid much less I would have worried that I was exploiting some hardworking folks. Shawn and Eden were about 20 minutes late- they did call me at 4:05 (moving time was 4p) to let me know they would be here soon. I was slightly annoyed, as I would have preferred a heads up before 4p, but can understand that that's not always possible. They started working as soon as their feet hit the ground, and the whole move lasted from 4:20-5:15ish, under an hour! Shawn and Eden were personable, quick, and careful with my possessions. They knew just how to angle my stuff so it fit into a teeny elevator. They made sure everything was tied down in their truck so nothing would accidentally fall out or anything. They also let me ride back to my apartment with them, which I appreciated a lot. Four stars for the obvious reasons- they only have a pick up truck, and no insurance. No packing materials are provided, so wrap your own sofa/mattress if you're worried. But I would definitely recommend them for smaller, simpler moves like mine! A few things to keep in mind- always offer your mover some water! I was so surprised to hear that I was their third move of the day- and the smallest by far, it seems- and the first to offer water. And, try to build in as much flexibility into your moving day as possible, so that you aren't overstressed when the unexpected occurs, which is all too likely to happen. I would say 99% of movers don't enjoy being late to their next job, and 99% of the time it's not their fault- the office folks offered misleading estimates, a service elevator went bonkers or a reservation was screwed up, the previous customer underestimated the amount of crap they had, etc. I have found movers to be some of the most hardworking guys around and on the receiving end of a lot from stressed out customers, and it shouldn't be that way. Thanks Shawn and Eden! You guys were fantastic!

I wouldn't be writing this review, except throughout the last 2 days "Joe" the manager/owner or…read morewhatever position he is, has not once even apologized for the poor service. He's also chosen not to respond to my last two emails asking about my refund. My bins were scheduled a week in advance and paid for in advance. They arrived completely filthy and the extra bubble wrap I paid for was missing. I emailed Joe and asked him for a refund (as I would have to clean and sanitize 20 bins) or to come pick up the bins and cancel my order. Here was his opportunity to apologize and throw a discount my way or pretend he gave a crap. He didn't. He replied with "I spoke with our driver and the delivered the wrong bins that were from a pickup. We can either swap out your bins or cancel the order and pick them up." First I find this pretty suspicious as the bins had layers of dust on them that clearly were sitting for awhile. But Ok cool, if you can bring clean ones today, that's fine. Two hours later, more bins are brought out. These are still dusty, dirty, have things inside them (one even had what looked like a spider egg sack inside). So I email Joe and say these are still dirty, please come get them and send me a refund. Here's what triggered the review. He did send his driver back out an hour or two later to collect the bins but didn't respond to my email. I sent another last night asking him to confirm my refund timing and he didn't respond. It's 24 hours later and he still hasn't confirmed a refund or even had the courtesy to say sorry for the inconvenience, not once. I'm out $99, 2 days behind in my packing, and have to go buy new boxes that I wasn't planning to use. I understand things happen but how you speak to customers is a huge part of running a business and Joe clearly could care less about how much of a stressor his business created in a time where stress is already high. They promise "clean and sanitized bins" for a premium, and I got none of those things, the least of which a decent apology. Don't recommend. *Edited to update, after posting this review I got a response from Joe a few hours later confirming the refund timing. Still no apology but the refund did get processed 3 days later.

Mike (the owner) came by our house at the beginning September to provide us with a quote for…read morepacking and moving services for the days of 10/9 and 10/10. We finally received the quote on 9/15, I then signed quote 9/15. I received a confirmation for signing the quote. We had not heard anything for a couple weeks. My wife called on 10/8 to confirm. They said they didn't have our signed quote and not on their schedule. We then emailed them the signed quote confirmation that we received from them. They moved our moving dates to 10/10 and 10/11, even though my wife and I took 10/9 off work for this. We were told the packers would be at the house between 7:30-8:30am to start packing. I called them at 8:45am and we were told they would be there by 9am. Then we were called back and they told us 9:30am would the new arrival. Then we were called again at 10:30am and said they were 30 minutes out. They finally showed up at 11:45am. When they arrived there were 3 people (Myron - their so-called Lead and two ladies). One of the ladies left at 12:30pm to take tools to another job. The other two left at 1:18pm to get more supplies. Those two showed back up at 2:25pm. The first one that left came back at 3:35pm. They all three left at 7pm. We paid for 3 packers at $139/hr for 6.75 hours Only had 3 packers for 4 hours They only worked 6.25 hours. We were Told that the packers would be here to finish between 7:45am and 8:00am, received a call at 8:50am saying that someone is on their way to finish the pack, then they said it was dangerous to move in the rain (it was not raining, it had been raining). It is due to rain between 1-3 pm today, and the rest it shows cloudy/overcast. I called Mike(the owner) at 9:15am and explained to him that I was currently not happy with the communication on timing. He explained that everyone was in route to us. I told him this move has to get done today. He explained that they didn't have us on the calendar. I explained that we signed the quote the day it came in and it was not our fault, it was obviously a breakdown in their processes. I said it is not raining in Murfreesboro, and he said it was raining hard in Nashville, I reiterated it is not currently raining in Murfreesboro where the move is happening, which is 45 minutes away. So get them in the trucks and get them rolling. Two people showed up at 9:45am, and then two more showed up at 10:25am. At 11am, Myron tried to load a custom made bookshelf by himself, and it fell off the ramp and broke. He tried saying it looks bad, but can be fixed. He said he would come back tomorrow night (10/12) to fix it. He never came back (surprise surprise). At 11:20am, the 2nd truck arrived with two more people. One of the loaders got mud stains on our living room rug. They finally unloaded the first truck at the new house at 5:15pm. While they were unloading the first truck load, one of my new neighbors stopped by and asked the movers if when they finish this job, could they stop by his house and help him move something. As Myron, Tiffany, and another guy went to go back to the old house, they detoured to this neighbors house to help him, while still on the clock for me.Myron took so many personal calls while "working". He barely worked, other than breaking things. Those three showed back up at the old house at 5:50pm. Myron and another worker were getting in to it over Myron going double dipping during the middle of the job. Myron got in her face, so I stepped in and explained that I was pissed, and made sure he understood why I was pissed. I explained that the only thing I want to hear out of his mouth is "I understand", and then get back to work. They damaged a wall near the stairs in the old house and the new house moving furniture. They didn't put any of the beds back together, they put furniture in the wrong rooms. This was definitely not a group of "professionals". They finally finished at 9pm. I had used Green Truck Moving and Storage twice before years ago. However, Green Truck Movers is the abysmal minor leagues of movers. They are awful. Do NOT waste your time or money! I would give ZERO stars if I could, but it won't let me. I submitted my claims form for damages.to Mike the owner, and my wife called him to make sure he received it. He wouldn't confirm, she asked him to let her know that he received it since it has a 48 hour notice on it. So I re-sent it to him and two other email addresses I had for Green Truck, still no response. Then I called the office and got an employees personal email, and she said she would print it and put it on his desk. Also, seriously a 48 notice to determine if things are damaged. Like people can get through all of their boxes to see if things are damaged in that timeframe. This is a craptastic business! So if you want your stuff broken and overpay for services, hire them. I also opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

So exciting, but we all know moving sucks and the process isn't pleasant. I originally called and got my quote a few months ago... lovely lady and so nice. Never got my quote/confirmation email. I must have called back 4 times to have them send and they never did. Friday (move day!). They're late. No call to say so or let me know timing. I had to call 2 or 3 times to get updates. They arrive, and there are 4 of them... great! I was quoted 3 men, so assuming this will go way quicker. Wrong-o. They were sooo slow, and I was helping. They did not carry one box on their own, but insisted on using a dolly for one, two boxes at a time. A 1.5/2 hour job took them 3. And what I was quoted for, I actually had already loved some of it over myself before they arrived. Then I get unpacking and notice a box missing. Power tools, quite expensive. Called and was told to call back Monday which I did. They said they'd let me know, they thought they had my box. Great! Never heard so I called and left a voicemail. At 12:15pm Monday I get a call saying they were at my place, where was I? Well.... I never heard from you and I called and left a voicemail, so I'm still at work. He was nice about it and we agreed to Tuesday at 12:15. Got my box yesterday and everything was in it except my hammer is missing. All in all ok as that is the cheapest missing item from all that was in the box. Terrence who delivered box was oh so great (thank you!!). Customer service and owner of company - AMAZING! Follow thru and mover guys - not so much. Unfortunately I can't say I'll use them for my next move.
