Our only concerns were with communication and project management. Our signed contract included replacing the fence as well as demolishing and removing a concrete step. A few days after the project began, we were told the concrete removal would cost extra because the step was concrete. We didn't mind paying the additional cost--we understand unexpected situations can come up--but it was frustrating that this wasn't identified and communicated during the initial estimate or before the work started. The concrete step was identified on the day work began, and he mentioned the extra charge 3 days later. Once the fence was completed, we were asked for full payment even though the contracted work had not yet been finished. We ultimately agreed to pay the remaining balance because we didn't want to go back and forth. It also seemed like multiple jobs were being worked on at the same time, which delayed completion. We were told a jackhammer needed to be rented to complete the concrete removal, but it wasn't arranged until later, adding to the delay. Overall, we're pleased with the final product and the quality of the work. I would hire Danny again because the workmanship and pricing were good. However, I would make sure the contract had more detailed terms regarding change orders, payment milestones, and project completion timelines to avoid any misunderstandings. Better communication throughout the project would have made the experience much smoother.

They demolished the steps, poured new ones along with a new walkway, and got a perfect shape. Very friendly, professional, and a good value overall.

The install went well but several of the step-boards have significant cracks in them, some 2" deep. We did ask if we should wait until Spring to install them, but were assured that the wood would be fine through the winter. The company does have a caveat in the estimate that some shrinkage, twisting, warping, and cracking may occur. We aren't concerned about the numerous cosmetic cracks, but the deep ones are too much of a head start for deterioration and should be replaced. I had my closet redone and ordering a custom door took longer than it should have (not their fault), but the communication while waiting for was lacking. They worked hard and did a good job. They completed many tasks adjacent to what I had asked for in the remodel. Overall I am very pleased with the work they did and I would use them again. They do not return phone calls or emails and do not explain their plans. Yet, they are extremely on the ball when it comes to requesting payment. Also, I felt the contractors were condescending toward my questions, and did not seem concerned or take responsibility when things were not done right the first time. Unfortunately we still have leaks in some areas but we are going to cut our losses and try to address these with a different contractor in the future. I will say, the actual construction workers contracted by DBR, were respectful, hard working, and did a great job (although they were sometimes not directed correctly by DBR...) hence the 2 stars! I wish I had the knowledge to just hire these teams and get the supplies myself, and skip the very expensive middlemen.
