So first of all, these guys serve shaved SNOW, not shaved ice. Shaved snow is the new Asian…read moredessert trend that is hitting cities all over the nation. Shaved ice is exactly what the name sounds like - it's basically ice shavings, topped with condensed milk, fruit, and/or asian toppings like red bean, green bean, boba, mochi, etc. Shaved ice does not exist in Cleveland, as far as I know. Shaved snow is a cross between shaved ice and ice cream. Think of it like taking a pint of ice cream rather than a block of ice and making shavings out of it. Then add the toppings that I mentioned above. These guys debuted their shaved snow at the nightmarket last week. Their shaved snow is very good! Tasted exactly like the shaved snow you would find in California or New York. I love these guys just for that! My one qualm is that they are lacking in Asian toppings. As of the time of this review, they have red bean, mochi, boba, fruits (like strawberries), and cornflakes (?!). Bring some small and large red bean, green bean, ai yu jelly, grass jelly, lychee, and five stars it is! They do NOT have a storefront, but they said they would be getting a truck soon!

So, if you don't know already, shaved ice is a classic frozen treat in many Asian countries- often topped with sweet toppings like fruit, red beans, mochi, etc... It's an amazing treat, especially when the heat rises. There was quite a line to get a taste but it gave me the chance to my choices. The brothers James and John, I think, we're very friendly and answered the questions people had patiently. I got a traditional ice with condensed milk and raspberries and mochi. It was tasty, though I would have liked to put more ingredients in mine. Good quality raspberries and finely shaved ice made for a refreshing treat. It'd be nice to have one that had The Works so you could get a sample of all the toppings. Next time I'll get the red beans, and it'd be nice to get other traditional ingredients like sweet corn. Looking forwards to coming back again. Great job guys!

This was the veggie option of the lobster mac & cheese that they offered. From the reactions of others, it appeared that the lobster mac was very good as well.

I've had these guys a few times and they are probably my favorite food truck in the Akron area…read more They tend to go to a lot of events and show up often. They have an ever changing menu with a few mainstays. The menu is very diverse from burgers to tacos to pastas. Anytime I have had their food the service has been quick and courteous. Prices tend to be a little high but if you think about it, they are coming to you and have the cost of gas/vehicle maintenance that needs to be factored in. They aren't ridiculous prices but enough to cover those extra expenses I imagine. I've had the Lobster Mac n' Cheese which was pretty good and ran $10. There was a decent amount of food in this dish and the lobster was plentiful. The Original Trükballs are delicious. The sauce is excellent. They run $4 for 2. Fresh cut Rosemary Fries are a good side for $3. The real standout for me on the menu is the Chili Dog. This thing is huge, probably a 1/3 beef hot dog on a large bun with a crusty outside filled with sweet and spicy homemade chili. You can barley see the dog when it's served. Ask for onions and pour on some hot sauce and you have something special! I think this monster runs about $6 and totally worth it. If you see these guys (how can you miss a big Orange Trük) make sure you stop and try something.

Where better to kick off summer than in the most happening place in the 216? This family-friendly…read moreevent sports live music, food and drink, attractive people, and great lakeside views. My friend and I concluded a day of serial-outings here in the Flats, and as soon as we emerged from the sketchy $5 cash only parking lot, we could smell the fun in the air. While we're on the topic of parking, you can avoid the extra $$ and headache of creeping around the Flats parking lot by dropping your car in one of the other lots up the hill, most of which were $5 for the event. It's just a short walk away, the better to appreciate the breeze coming off Lake Eerie. Beyond the fences and security guards, the festival branches out into two wings along the bank. Lots of local vendors have tents set up along the eastern wing on Old River Rd, and there are plenty of places to rehydrate (with booze), provided you stop by a Ticket tent first to get your ID checked and exchange money for tickets. Which you can exchange for drinks, which you exchange for new friends and good memories. Or something like that. On the lawn on the western branch, food trucks herd like cattle next to tents with kids' activities and a good ol' fashioned state fair booth selling buckets of fries, bourbon marinated chicken, and blooming onions (which this Cali girl had never heard of!). Saturday evening, we were graced by the presence of Slyman's and La Taqueria. Some of the vendors on Saturday were definitely underprepared for the amount of people there, and before 6:30p even hit La Taqueria had run out of every meat except ground beef, Maui Shaved Ice was closed, and Coastal Taco's booth was on hold with a hangry gaggle outside as their people ran the few yards into the restaurant to restock. Surprisingly, the port-a-potties were in good condition. I imagine things went a little smoother on subsequent days, but at least you can always fall back on one of the many rooftop bars nearby when the cute babies and long lines become too much to handle.
