My older daughter is very picky and was looking for something special. She wanted strawberry chocolate, and one of the associates (I wish I knew her name!) kindly suggested a milk chocolate bar with strawberries and tiny crispy pearls inside. My daughter absolutely loved it! That employee was amazing--so patient, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to her for making our visit extra memorable. Another thing that impressed me was the packaging. Everything was wrapped so beautifully and felt very luxurious. The sturdy paper bag with the Läderach logo, the elegant tissue paper, and even a complimentary greeting card made the whole experience feel extra special. Or do I start with the store itself, which looks less like a mall shop and more like a chocolate museum curated by people who take cocoa very seriously? Maybe I start with the smell. Because the moment you step inside, your brain goes, "Oh. This is where we live now." Everywhere you look there are perfectly arranged truffles, glossy bars, and massive slabs of chocolate broken by hand that feel almost illegal to sell in public. It is visually stunning and slightly overwhelming in the best way possible. Then you taste it. This is not regular chocolate. This is chocolate that melts instantly, made with care, precision, and top quality ingredients. It is rich without being heavy, sweet without being overpowering, and somehow manages to feel luxurious and comforting at the same time. It takes chocolate to a whole other level. It was located within a plain, grey plaza. Because we were on vacation on June 7, 2024, we had to pop in... oh, who am I kidding? We would have anyway. For such a small shop, they sure offer quite an assortment of chocolates. My youngest chose a starfish and a sea turtle. They were $2.50 apiece. I chose a key lime cream in milk chocolate. A Dutchie (caramel/peanuts). And a sea salt caramel in dark chocolate. They were all so smooth and decadent. Not cheap, but very much worth it. Service was a bit slow that day. After we had made our choices and I paid, the young woman working that drizzly afternoon offered a piece each on the house. Lol. That was a bit backwards if she was trying to get more sales! I tried a blueberry cream in white chocolate. Its richness and creaminess took me by surprise. I would definitely recommend it. Afterwards, I did some research on this little place. I love the story that the owners posted on the Yelp page. It's not hard to believe that they once held the title of "Best Homemade Chocolate in America!"
