I needed to activate 2 phones that were shipped in as well. I had been without a phone for 5 days. Upon being helped we were told if we didn't have an account number from T-Mobile they couldn't help us. She later asked for Social Security number which I told her my previous company said I didn't need to provide one or have good credit for this promotion. She replied with "oh Ok" . She asked for ID and after a few minutes, returned back the ID and said that the last name did not match the account so we had to go home call customer service to update our last name and then go back into the store. When we call customer service they said the representative from store had to call customer service herself to verify that the person in front of her was the one making the account changes. Customer service advised we go to a t mobile store with expertise experience which I did. When I went in and explained everything she said they always get complaints from this store, she also said the lady from this century location could've asked for a second identification method which proved the first name matched and the last name was different (proving it was the same person). All of this was just so messy and it caused frustration over the last name. I was sent home with instructions to call customer service only for customer service to tell me this could've easily been done IN STORE. Caused me a third drive to a different location that had competent workers. PS. The account number she was asking for in the beginning?? she could've easily said it was the temporary phone numbers of the lines I was activating. -- although I didn't get a name, I can describe her as short Latina with round glasses. There was another way taller lady with glasses, it wasn't the taller gal unfortunately I didn't get a name.

The new equipment had been sent to my neighbor's house. The salesman from the market said he accidentally sent it to that address but could fix it as soon as I turned in my old equipment to an ups store. It was a big confusion . I had been stressed trying to get it resolved. Zarria was patient, professional, and really took the time to explain everything clearly. Most importantly, she actually fixed the problem quickly and made the whole process so easy. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping customers, and that made a huge difference. If you are a current spectrum internet customer go in the store not the salesperson at a market to get promotions. Thank you for turning a frustrating situation into a positive experience. Excellent customer service like this is hard to find!

You would have thought I never heard of WiFi lol. It is a busy store so have patience when you go in. A nice customer told me to sign in and you can see your name on the screen in the store, so you don't have to ask what number you are in line. Thanks De'Sean for your amazing customer service!

CORRECTION: 1) The $20/mo is now $35/mo. :^(…read more2) Customer service is still in the states. :^) 1) No more insufferable ads :^) 2) The upload limitation might be fixed? 3) They still hang up on you if they can't answer a question. :^( 4) There are charming CC reps online in America. :^) BAD NEWS: Consumer Cellular CRIPPLED my "Unlimited" Data Plan down to 0.03 MB (30kB) when my total download exceeded 50GB. The "SmartFlex" does not upgrade* to a higher bandwidth. There is no higher bandwidth. The crippled bandwidth is so low that a webpage will NOT LOAD with either 5G+ or LTE+!!! CC refuses to restore the bandwidth until the end of the current billing cycle, which ended last week(?)! So my data download is blocked for a total of 6 weeks, in my case. BTW, the excessive usage (50GB) was my own fault for using Cellular Data when I thought I was on WiFi. :^/ But sill, there was no Consumer Cellular fix or upgrade to restore Data service at any price. If a family member needs emergency information from the internet while out driving, (e.g. a hospital number, a tow-truck number, etc) they would be Out of Luck. *BTW, there is a $10 sur-charge for each "SmartFlex" bandwidth upgrade, in addition to the added monthly charge. THIS IS A HIDDEN CHARGE!! (i.e. not widely advertised). ======================================================== ORIGINAL Review: ======================================================== On the up side, 1) Its cheap: $20/mo. 2) Customer Service is in the States. On the down side, you get what you pay for: 1) Must listen to insufferable audio ads while on hold. 2) Their service cannot upload videos of 1MB via text. 3) Their 'well spoken' customer service refused to allow me to register a complaint about either of the above (neither 1 nor 2), then cut me off. 4) When I called back, I learned that customer service was not available after 6:00 PM on Saturday. I decided this is reasonable for an All American customer service. - Cheers

Run as fast as you can the other way. We switched to save about 1/3 of what we were paying AT&T…read more You get what you pay for, it was the most horrible utility experience I have ever had. From the beginning when it took almost two hours to switch over by phone, to continual service and billing issues, to every.single.CSR telling me something different. The original CSR who switched us over (read: salesperson, since they must work on commission) flat out lied to me. I asked three times if we would be getting 50GB FOR EACH LINE. She told me yes all three times, on speaker, so my husband heard it, I didn't imagine it. It turns out to be 50GB for both lines, and the only way to get that for each line is for there to be two accounts, that is their top "unlimited" data plan. And oh! If you run out of data? They turn off your hotspot. You have to call to get it turned back on and pay for additional data for the rest of the billing period if you need it, there is no "slow" data for hotspot. Yes, the signal is the same as AT&T. But the ongoing issues with data usage and inconsistent customer service were absolutely not worth the savings. We switched to T-Mobile after two months, got new free phones, 50GB hotspot data EACH LINE. and are paying about $15 less a month than we were with AT&T. And an additional PSA: If you switch to CC from AT&T and import your number from AT&T, and you decide to switch from CC to another carrier, you have to get your number ported from AT&T, not CC, which can't be done over the phone. You have to go in to the new carrier's brick and mortar to get them to do that. PLUS if you don't switch out on the exact day of your billing cycle's end, you will get charged for the entire coming month, even if it is only one day. They do not pro-rate charges, at all. We tried to leave several days before the cycle ended and couldn't due to the above porting issue. Had to find a time when both of us could go to the closest T-Mobile store (a half hour away). That was 3 days after our CC cycle ended, for which we are paying @$80. For three days of cell service. Don't use Consumer Cellular.
