When you aren't much of a drinker, you sometimes have to depend on the recommendations of others. Every time i have gone in seeking a bottle of wine to bring as a hostess gift or bourbon (which I never drink) I have always gotten well chosen suggestions from employees (usually with several price ranges.) More often than not, I have gotten effusive praise for "my choice". They have a large selection of beverages, including some beers from other countries and i love their extensive selection of miniatures. It's a less expensive way to get that 1/8 cup of some strange liqueur that's called for in a cake recipe. read more

I'll never go to this location. My friend and I were ID'd for buying a non-alcoholic item. I left my wallet in my vehicle and felt it was no big deal( because we didn't buy alcohol) however this old Karen with grey hair, glasses and a ponytail held the item hostage until i went to grab my ID. So i asked her why are we being ID'd for a muddler? Its a tool..we can't drink it. Shes like, everyone is IDd here. Then she ran this woman's item and didn't ID her at all. Ordered from their delivery service and the driver got lost and called me and only spoke Spanish. I called the store and they said since they hand it off to a third party (their TV commercial shows their own trucks delivering, not DoorDash) there is nothing they could do. The order finally arrived more than an hour late and after delivering my order, the driver stood on my porch for ten minutes on his phone until I made home leave. Really creepy. I'll never have them deliver again and probably won't go back since their response is "there's nothing we can do" AND... I had to tip the driver up front! Just a lousy service all around. read more

Came in looking specifically for Game of Thrones wines and beers and I was not disappointed! I found on the Total Wine website that this location had all the items I was looking for, but I was a little trepidatious about where to even start to find them. Thankfully, the nicest store associate helped me and I felt like I had my own personal shopper! It was such a fantastic experience! He showed me where the beers I was looking for were, first. Then we moved on to the wines, and I even ended up with a bottle of White Walker scotch (which he recommended!) and a couple of House Targaeryn pint glasses. A good location, as are most of the locations I've visited in the Valley. As it is close to work I will often stop in on the way home to grab a bottle or two. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. The selection of wines is, as typical for Total Wine, comprehensive. Since changing the layout a few months back it is taking some getting-used-to to navigate but that isn't a major issue. In addition, the selection if liquors is quite nice and varied as well. One major factor for me in deciding on whether to visit has little to do with this particular store but rather with Desert Ridge Marketplace itself: navigating traffic, getting in and out is just a colossal pain. Just poorly planned and laid out. Overall, however, this Total Wine location is certainly worth the time if you're in the area and wanting to browse a good selection of libations. read more

Would have been nice if the cashier told me about a coupon that would have saved me a lot of money. She knew I was a member because she looked up my account. I found out afterwards when I downloaded the app. If it wasn't for the amount that I bought I would go return everything. As a first time customer at this location, the customer service was terrible. The associate that opened the cabinet for me to get my item told me it would be waiting for me in the front by the registers. I waited in the front on aisle 4 and told the clerk that the associate would be bringing the bottle for me to purchase. I had to find another associate as other customers began cutting me in the line, the then annoyed associate i found used his radio to figure out where the bottle was and asked me if i had let the clerk know that the bottle had been brought to the front (like i would not be standing here talking to you if i didn't say anything while standing in the front of the store). The associate that got it out of the cabinet went to the front of the store and got it from a shelf no one would have even thought to look for it! Like who does that, not to mention everyone had an attitude that i was trying to figure out who hid the damn bottle. Will never come back, I was also the only African American in the store. I was in and out of the store quickly and ended up purchasing more than I originally was going to because she knew the wines so well. Staff doesn't know the products. Takes 2-3 clowns to find inventory. And the latest is an online order with a total refusal to award me my 100% paid order after showing them my order on my phone - like I have done 1,000 times before. The staff was very helpful. I appreciate the giant selection and sometimes just wander the aisles for inspiration. The store was clean, and restroom available for customers. The reason for 4 stars is that we can never find our loyalty account when we check out. And their inventory showed 3 bottles available for a special liquor and the shelf was bare. Bummer. read more

I visited the local store ed on Tatum today. The store was staffed with five Three managers were gathered in the front of the store. One spirit manager on the floor, along with a cashier. What The problem is no help and a confusing layout. Upon seeking help I was given a poor response. When I left I told the managers of my disappointment. They giggled as I left. Not good. read more

I'd been eying Total Wine since their grand opening in July, and even more excited to go once I read Brian S's review... I finally had a reason to go check it out - I was on a mission... a mission for Prickly Pear margarita ingredients! This store is much bigger than it appears on the outside. I walked in and didn't know where to start - but after getting my bearings, I realized that each isle was well-marked and there were TW employees all around asking if I needed help. I found my way to the tequila isle which happened to be the same isle as mixers, but no Prickly Pear juice or tequila was to be found. I asked an employee and she took me right to the closest product they had - Arizona High Spirits Prickly Pear Vodka. Even better for me since I'm more a vodka drinker than tequila! Andrea (the employee that helped me) was extremely helpful and took another step to take me to the AZ High Spirits Prickly Pear Vodka website where they have several recipes listed to make specialty drinks. Andrea also told me that TW does all kinds of tastings at the store, so I'll have to check those out sometime. I can't wait to try the Prickly Pear Vodka recipes soon. More importantly, TW was a pleasant surprise and I will not hesitate to return for my beer, wine, and spirits needs! read more

Uber'd to the shopping center and as I walked into the store I was greeted by someone followed by 2 store associates following me around the store. I LOVE this place. Great selection of just about anything to drink as well as a walk in humidor with cigars if you wish. Several kegs sizes and flavors to choose if you are having a party. Their wine and liquor selection is too crazy and a must see. They even have all the food snack items that you need to put out while entertaining. I normally like to stock up with a trunk load of some of their fantastic Imported German and Dutch beers. This way I can avoid the poorly designed Desert Ridge vilely flawed parking lot as long as possible. Gets really busy during playoff seasons or holidays. I could not be a happier camper today. I popped into the store in preparation for my river float experience, and picked up a few supplies. The selection of beer seems endless. Craft beers from all over the country/world. You can mix and match your bottles. In just about any size. The liquor selection is vast. I was able to find various brands of sweet tea vodka. Amazing. The wine department can speak for itself. I know nothing about wine, because I am not classy or fancy. I'm also more of a craft beer guy, but if wine is your thing, then THIS is your place.
