He was so right! I've been with AJ over one month and couldn't be happier. AJ has an amazing build, one that clearly shows he has the knowledge I need to transform my body. AJ has risen to the challenge to continue my workouts where Teivin has left off. He is so motivating, has a warm and friendly disposition, keeps me laughing all the while getting down to business. My time with him is well spent. Workouts are varied and I am learning about all the machines/free weights that are available. He has motivated me to push myself, while at the same time keeping my training safe. He is working to make sure my limitations (bad back, wonky knee, wrist issues) are addressed and I can say I am really pleased with my results. Feeling better and looking better!! I look forward to coming to my sessions and have added more sessions to continue my health journey. AJ has helped me physically but also mentally believe in myself. I always leave the gym feeling I learned something new, pushed myself, all the while having fun. AJ is such a part of my success and I am glad to call LA Fitness my gym. Gym is overcrowded if you go after 4pm until close on a weekday. Like waiting for treadmills…read morecrowded. It's a great little place fully equipped and staffed with really knowledgeable trainers. You can't help but love Lina and Pedro (the owners) 2 people truly dedicated to there members. What it lacks in size and flash, more than makes up for it with there welcoming, unintimadating atmosphere. (The owners have gone to great lengths to create such a non threatening environment) This is a phenominal neighborhood business for all to use from the new mom trying to get back into shape to the competitve bodybuilder preparing for an upcoming event. Multiple people have shared my observation that the yoga program is below average and my partner attended one class and never went back because of an abrasive the yoga instructor. Overall if you have additional $$$ and don't mind paying more than what you are getting (like the Bucktown housing market) then you will certainly enjoy this place. If you're looking for something that makes sense from a value perspective then there are other options.

It's a smaller gym, but I feel like if you come in with a purpose it isn't so bad. One suggestion to management perhaps would be in regards with employees and eating at the front desk. Like I mentioned before, the space is small and when employees eat, for example, Taco Bell--or anything with a heated aroma, the entire gym smells like a fast food joint. It the most ideal workout conditions when it smells like your at a food court.

I brought my concerns about them not providing clean towels to wipe down equipment to the staff member on duty, and I was told that we can all share one towel, but don't worry, because they will wash it every day. He told me the gym was too small to provide members with towels to wipe themselves with. OK fine. But the equipment needs to be wiped down after each use, and using the same dirty towel for everyone, all day, is not accomplishing that. I've never seen another gym do this. I was a member here for a year, and every other week one of the ellipticals or stationary bikes was broken. In such a small gym, this is very inconvenient.

Sarah has been such an incredible person in my weight loss journey. She's empathetic, kind, funny and I love knowing that no matter what issue I'm facing (pain, period, exhausted from work, etc), Sarah will always tailor my workouts to how I'm feeling, but challenge me. She's helped me have a great relationship with working out - it doesn't feel like a chore and always look forward to our 2 sessions a week. It's hard finding a gym or trainer with so many options, but I'm so glad I found this place!!
