That was one of the best decisions I've made since moving to Logan Square because now I've been working out there for almost 3 months. Alex (owner/trainer) let me try my first bootcamp class for free and then I signed up for a 6 week challenge. There are also new monthly packages now and Alex runs different challenges all the time! Alex is a friendly, chill guy and he really takes the time to learn about your skill level and your fitness goals and then really starts to find ways to motivate you and push you to be better! He's incredibly encouraging and my favorite part is that he's on this journey with all of us too. Having lost a lot of weight himself, he understands where a lot of different people struggle in their fitness/weight loss goals and he's always happy to share tips and tricks for working out and healthy eating. I've met some pretty fantastic people working out here and they always make me happy to wake up at 5:30AM to work out! Everyone's at different fitness and skill levels but Alex works with every member to provide modifications to exercises or to challenge you further with certain exercises. Alex changes up classes everyday so there's lots of variety and he focuses on high intensity interval training. His classes are typically 60% cardio and 40% strength training. Go check out a class if you want to get fit!

When I come here, the staff and EVERYONE I meet along the way have become my friends and family. I understand there is so much else that the facility has to offer other than conversation and such, but when you're so comfy at a place like this you don't want to leave, and all of it is done right, and done well. My advice to ALL staff is... don't change a thing! You're all great!

I cannot recommend bringing children here. The website presents this as a safe, family-friendly…read moreenvironment, but that was not our experience. My children and I were appalled by how staff treated an elderly resident with an obvious physical disability affecting his arm and mobility. He was denied permission for a non-resident to help carry his belongings upstairs, which raised serious concerns about both safety and basic compassion. The non resident man informed the ill mannered woman that the man he was assisting had cancer. Who denies a cancer patient assistance ? It was upsetting for my children to witness this lack of empathy, and they immediately asked not to be left there. Situations like this are not only unsafe for vulnerable residents but also send the wrong message to families. The YMCA should take responsibility and ensure its housing management demonstrates greater care and respect for individuals with severe disabilities--denying reasonable assistance could lead to preventable harm. If elderly disabled residents are not safe who is? Not our impressionable young children, and we certainly do not wish to leave our children in places to learn such behaviors.

She's been rude and kicked us out because of the shoes that i've worn and yesterday night March march 4 I went to work out with my dad and my brother and we went to work out on legs and we went to the leg press machine and somehow the screw went flying and hit my brother's leg not an issue for me I told him I don't know what they did, but the machine wasn't working not only that machines has been not working but other ones around it are also not OK. I had fallen from one two days prior and the seat fell down i know the gym has great potential Just the leaders that run it isn't okay the workers there quite literally have to do everything. Another employee named Connor said he would investigate and talk to Heather. Well that investigation was fairly quick. Connor emailed me back immediately stating that my membership was "mistakenly" canceled by Heather. Who mistakenly cancels a gym membership?? What a poor excuse, Connor. And supposedly my card on file was not valid for the month of January 2026. But the same card was valid all of 2024 and 2025 and they sure took my money. I decided to spend my money else where. Do better guys, your poor excuses can lose a lot of customers.

My one issue is the billing department. I pay 75$ a month to have a membership here, and when I got a knee injury that required crutches and a massive heavy metal brace around my leg, my Doctor told me I was not allowed to work out until I was cleared by her as I might need surgery. This did not warrant a good enough reason for them to let me cancel my membership (because I can still do arm workouts according to them). During my four month recovery I was still charged a 15$ fee instead of the entire amount. Then, when I'm finally cleared and ready to get back to the gym my monthly membership charge declined, and I immediately noticed and put enough money in my account to pay for it. To my surprise the next day I got a charge for $98 instead of $75, and when I called they said their reasoning was because there's a service fee if they have to run your card again. A $23 dollar random fee is insane. This company is too focused on making as much money as they can off of each person who joins and honestly I won't be renewing my membership when it's time.
