Great for all levels of tennis, I am a beginner and have had great exp with cardio tennis and with tennis classes, Evan is great; love the locker room, and love Ignite class with Ann.

Indoor Tennis Courts

Surprised I never finalized my review for this club. I found this club during the end of the pandemic and it was a much welcoming space. I have the opportunity to take tennis and no time lessons at this facility. As part of that package I got to try out the gym for the day in which I had lessons on. The tennis program is really phenomenal so many great tennis pros, plus a racket club right on-site. I like that they have indoor and outdoor courts. The indoor courts are very bright and no complaints at all. For the rest of the facilities I was able to try a dance fitness class and then also a barre class. Both instructors were top tier. It is really easy to check out all the different classes that they have to offer as they have a really good application system for scheduling. I really enjoyed that in addition to workout spaces, strength based conditioning spaces, boxing spaces, yoga room, etc ... There is a social aspect to the club. They have a full bar and limited type kitchen but it's a really nice area just to even work or relax if you just want to be around people but don't necessarily want to be at an outside function. The pools were really nice here they have indoor pool and a rooftop outdoor pool. I will say that sometimes you got a little chaotic during family swim time. I was able to enjoy the hot tub however I wish they would have required parents not to let their kids splash around in the hot tub at times. In addition to all the other things they have at this facility they have a full house salon and one of my favorite things to do after working out was to hit the sauna and the steamroom. I really enjoy this athletic club and if it was more in my price range I would join. I totally see how you could take good advantage of all the benefits that it has to offer to include an attached hotel. Members get parking in the garage so parking is not an issue.

Snack bar. Lots of yummy things.

I brought my concerns about them not providing clean towels to wipe down equipment to the staff member on duty, and I was told that we can all share one towel, but don't worry, because they will wash it every day. He told me the gym was too small to provide members with towels to wipe themselves with. OK fine. But the equipment needs to be wiped down after each use, and using the same dirty towel for everyone, all day, is not accomplishing that. I've never seen another gym do this. I was a member here for a year, and every other week one of the ellipticals or stationary bikes was broken. In such a small gym, this is very inconvenient.

Not crowded. The environment is welcoming and it's just an excellent workout. Ethos is what is needed coming out of a COVID routine of boring cardio or attempted weights in a spare bedroom. It's a great experience and you'll learn a lot. Highly recommend! Max Goodman -

Pros: 1- I love the programming, I always wanted to go to a free range gym where people are running…read moresplits but I never knew where to start. This takes the guesswork out for me- I show up, do what's on the board, and go home. Some cycles are better than others but I could also just be picky because now I know what I like in a workout. 2- The coaches- Not only do they demonstrate moves at the top of each block, they will come around while you're working and ask you to sink 2 inches deeper, or encourage you to pick up that heavier weight to increase the burn of the exercise or to correct form if they see something is off. They are encouraging and engaging with great playlists to keep you working through a class. 3- The people- This is a mature crowd, not in age but in lifestyle. Everyone that shows up is here to WORK- improve their strength, mobility, longevity etc. You're not worried about being in the background of someone's tiktok or someone hogging a machine for an hour. When you're seeing people sometimes multiple times a week, it's hard not to learn their names and feel some camaraderie. Con (Very minor but still worth mentioning): 1- With 18 or 20 openings for evening Total Body Strength classes and 8 rigs/set ups, it can get packed sometimes. Everyone is easy to share with, especially when you can see them multiple times a week in class- but it would be nice if Ethos would consider getting at least 2 more rigs/set-ups for classes. 2- There is a small group of people that are clique-ish. When they are in class together, it can be annoying that they aren't paying attention to the flow of the space and now you're having to maneuver around them. They're not hogging anything, they're just blocking the flow of traffic. When it's just one or two, this problem doesn't exist. Overall, I am happy with my decision to join this gym! I have brought friends with my guest pass. While I haven't used the sauna, cold plunge, or seen the treatment team- I do see people walking back there to use them. Ethos is a great place to be if you are serious about your journey.

Knowing you have your own scheduled rack and never having to wait. The space is clean and simple (no clutter, distractions, multiple floor levels, overwhelming equipment). 2. An individualized, optimized program made just for you so you never have to guess what's next. It's even adjusted on the spot according to your ability that day. (If I were responsible for selecting my own weights, I know I would not challenge myself to progressively go up due to self-doubt and safety concerns) 3. Excellent coaching. Having someone to watch your lifts, spot your bench presses, and provide feedback and encouragement. I also learned misc, unspoken things like how to load a plate, how to use the safety pins, how to wear a belt, and etiquette like not walking in front of someone's deadlift. Thank you Alex, Jon, Cordelia, Evelyn! 4. A motivating community of gymmates. There are only like 10 racks in the space, so as you go in at the same times each week, you get to see and get to know the same group of people. Everyone is training together and congratulating each other on PRs (personal records). We have also had fun socials (a beach party, a gathering at a brewery). 5. And lastly--you will actually get stronger, physically and mentally. You will exert all your effort into one lift one day, and maybe you will even fail it, but a few months later, it will become your warmup. The process is challenging and satisfying. All you have to do is show up! "The human body functions as a complete system--it works that way, and it likes to be trained that way." - Rip

I have gone to several CrossFit gyms in the Ravenswood area for many years, and I can confidently…read moresay that feast is a fantastic option. There's other great gyms in the area, but, in my mind, several things set Feast apart from the others: -The programming. The programming is classic CrossFit with a weightlifting emphasis and is challenging, but not so crazy insane that you get frustrated or disheartened because you can't complete it. -The instructors. Andy, Conner, Anna and PJ are all really fantastic. I am not an elite athlete by any stretch of the imagination, but they work with me on ways that I can modify while still pushing myself to get better and better. All four of them are really top-notch athletes, and also happen to be as nice as they could possibly be. -The facilities. It's by far the nicest gym that I have been to in the Ravenswood area. It's climate controlled, the equipment is in really good shape, it's very clean, the bathroom facilities are really nice, and I think it's laid out well. -The culture. The culture of a gym really matters. When you walk in, you could just feel the positivity. I really appreciate the ways that they cultivate community and how encouraging they are. The people are fantastic, and that makes a big difference. -The owner. Greg is a really nice guy and is super knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness. I have found him to be very flexible, and open to feedback. The most important thing to me in a gym is that I'm getting results - and that's exactly what's happened. The one downside is that it's expensive, it is more expensive than other gym in the area. I've been part of several other gyms in Ravenswood, and while this is a more expensive option, for me for the value of what you get with the instruction, people, curriculum and the facilities, it's worth it. Overall, I highly recommend feast.
