UPDATE (resolved): After posting this review, I was contacted by Mary, a manager who works across the local TITLE clubs. She was extremely apologetic, listened to my concerns, and took the time to understand what happened. Mary agreed to refund both disputed charges ($198 total), and I received written confirmation of both refunds shortly after our conversation. She also offered complimentary sessions at her location as an additional gesture. I appreciate Mary taking ownership of the situation and resolving it. My original experience and frustration remain as described below, particularly because I had made several attempts to resolve the issue before posting this review. However, I absolutely want to give credit where it's due: once Mary became involved, she handled the situation professionally, listened to me, apologized, and made things right. I'm glad this ultimately got resolved. --- I had a genuinely good experience with the boxing classes and instructors at title, which makes this situation especially disappointing. In April, while I was unemployed and experiencing financial hardship, I filled out their online form to cancel my membership. Instead of cancelling, Jun the manager messaged me and offered to zero out my next invoice, freeze my membership so I wouldn't be charged, and reduce my monthly rate. I reluctantly agreed, and my May invoice was zeroed out. I never stepped foot in the gym again after my cancellation request, yet I was subsequently charged the full $99 in both June and July. When I contacted Jun, he told me the charges were my responsibility because I had agreed to remain a member. He also told me he would escalate the issue to corporate. That never happened. I've now made three additional attempts to resolve this, and all three have been completely ignored. This could have been an incredibly simple billing issue to correct. Instead, the gym has refused to refund $198 in charges for a membership I hadn't used since April, despite the terms Jun offered not even being honored. Given that I had specifically explained that I was unemployed and couldn't afford the membership, their unwillingness to simply make this right feels unnecessarily cruel. I have no complaints about the actual boxing experience, but the way this has been handled has completely destroyed my trust and respect for this gym. read more

All the staff are so sweet and it was a great atmosphere. Kevin is an awesome teacher!!

I guess I feel ready to write a review, considering I've taken 150 classes here!! I randomly signed up for the first free class at Title because I wanted to find a hobby for myself. I instantly loved it and signed up for the unlimited package! This is huge for me, as I hate working out, and didn't want to spend money on a gym membership since I have a free gym at my office. However, Title classes are worth the money, and it's the only workout I've ever had where I'm always excited to go and even sign up for weekend morning classes, just because I love the way I feel afterwards. Every instructor is great, and they're all different. You never feel like you're taking the same class twice. Some instructors like Moses and Ty really focus on form/technique and feel like they're preparing you for a real fight. Some like Kevin and Emmanuel are fast-paced, high-energy cardio classes that make me feel like a bada$$ for getting through them. Sprinkled within the schedule are kickboxing and strength classes as well. Even if you (somehow) get sick of classes, Title offers a full gym and personal training sessions. I've used the gym and it has nice equipment and all the machines you could need. Front desk staff is always nice and remember their regulars. Staff has always been helpful when I'm buying gloves or wraps as well. Booking and cancelling classes on the app is super easy. Easily the best gym membership I've ever had. 150 classes strong and I'm not even starting to get bored! read more

I love training at TITLE Boxing, especially with Jun! He keeps every session intense, encouraging, and focused to what I need. He explains everything clearly, fixes my form, and always motivates me even on days I don't feel 100%. I've gotten so much stronger because of him. If you're thinking about joining, ask for Jun he's the best! read more

The boxing lesson was AMAZING! However the front desk lady was very rude. She had brown hair and glasses was constantly harassing me and my friend to sign up for a membership. This was our first experience here we spoke to a young lady she was kind and respectful. We told her first that we were interested in single classes and not the membership. The older lady with the glasses and brown hair made us feel weird for asking to use the shower saying " it's usually for members only " but she still allowed us to shower ODD. Once we came out she was hounding me and my friend to sign up for the membership asking when we get paid. She called my friend broad and said I wasn't going to see ANY result without cardio ( the boxing membership ) it was very uncomfortable and I hate that my experienced was ruined because this lady made us feel so uncomfortable for wanting classes and not a membership. WONT be back to this location. The work out was awesome I would recommend for anyone interested but that lady actually ruined this experience for me and my friend. PS Emmanuel was GREAT loved the music and work out read more

BEWARE THE FINE PRINT!!! If you want to cancel your membership, you must come in to the club and physically sign a form that serves as a 30 day cancellation notice (i.e. they squeeze an extra month's fees out of you whether or not you want it, even after your commitment ended). After going through the hassle of coming all the way down to the club to cancel, the front desk girl (Ruth, and I hope someone will talk to her about this) was, for some reason, super chipper while informing me of this "30-day notice" policy. I asked her to show me a copy of the contract and she said that she doesn't have it on hand but I should have one if "it was important enough to me". The only time I ever encountered this type of customer service was when my car was towed and I had to pick it up at the impound lot. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that this is info is available. I genuinely feel that this company is dishonest and there are better options for boxing in the area. read more

Was a member for over 2 years at this location until I moved. Hated to cancel as the staff were always great and it was always a great workout. Everyone was always supportive and encouraging. Wish there was a location closer to my new place so I could keep going. Just be aware of their 30 day cancellation policy. I couldn't make it in to cancel until 29 days before my monthly renewal so that one day cost me $129 and I get nothing in return. read more

TITLE Lincoln Park is an amazing and welcoming place to get a great workout! The instructors are very motivating and super friendly--Moses, Cam, Courtney, and Katie (just to name a few) truly made me feel at home. However, as a long-time member, I chose to cancel my membership due to relocating from the area and the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. After working with the assistant manager to cancel my membership, I was never notified that TITLE Corporate "didn't accept" my cancellation and therefore was charged for an entire month that I did not attend classes for. Subsequently, the TITLE team was VERY difficult to work with and ultimately told me that there was no way of giving me a refund in which I was rightfully owed. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the customer service after being a loyal member of the club. I do not plan on coming back after this experience. read more

I absolutely love TITLE Boxing and this location. The staff and instructors are friendly, fun, and motivating. The gym is super clean. The new app and booking classes (being able to select your bag location) is great. I always look forward to the classes. I recently renewed my year membership, and the price can't be beat. It comes to about $75/month. One note though: Read the contract. I see others have complained, but it's all outlined in the contract. read more

This place is 100% a scam. I was told my membership was canceled over the phone then after 4 months of being charged I was told that's a lie because it would have to be done in person. After "doing me a favor" and turning it into credits they failed to tell me it expired at the end of the year. This place is always empty, the music is horrible and it's truly a waste of your money. read more

The Assistant Manager was incredibly rude. My wife had signed up for a 8 class/month plan at the Title Boxing West Loop location. We were under the impression we could take classes at any Title location in Chicago with our plan, seeing as we've done this for the past year without issue. We had even been to this location before. Anyways, we drove up to the Lincoln Park location a few weekends ago to take a class, only to be greeted by this incredibly rude assistant manager. She scolded us for even trying to use our passes there, and was very unprofessional. My wife was so excited to take a class that afternoon and we spent nearly a half hour trying to find parking. The least she could have done is let us take the class and kindly inform us that we wouldn't be able to do so in the future. What we got was far worse. We're cancelling our membership because of her, and her complete disregard for customer service. read more

Wonderful gym, clean, prestige, and spacious. I took the boxing 60 class for my first time and loved it so much that I joined! Veronika means business, but she is patient and detailed with her training technique to make sure the beginners know what they're doing. She's a tough cookie, but super sweet and motivating. Loved her class and will be taking more with her. I am excited to join this club and I can't wait to see the transformation! Thank you to Jude who really is sweet and showed great customer service. The employees here really care about their members and it shows. Thank you! Let the fun and sweat begin! read more

Attended 2 classes thru ClassPass. Great facility (they have a small gym and are soon expanding!), had a great workout and good atmosphere in general. Would say it's a good investment but sort of pricey ($900 upfront for a year's membership or $110/month yearly contract). I did not go for it since I was not willing to commit a year and their no commitment option is $140/month+enrollment fee(maybe $0 not sure). You need to purchase ($12) or get your own hand wraps and boxing gloves are freely available. read more

Title is really, really fun. Boxing is kind of like yoga, but for people who need to get their stress out with punches instead of saying namaste. All the classes here at 60 minutes (online it says the chain offers 45 and 75? minutes classes, but I haven't seen them here). They start with 15 minutes of warm-ups, 30 minutes of punching the bags (8 3 minute rounds), and 15 minutes of abs (OUCH). This location has a shower AND towels, which already makes it better than the West Loop and South Loop locations. My first class was with Katie who is awesome, but I haven't had a single bad instructor here. If you are going for the first time, you need to buy wraps (they are $15). They will lend you gloves for free as long as you need them (which already made them better than UFC Gym Wrigleyville up the street, who charges for wraps AND gloves). If you are thinking about a membership, you will need to buy gloves though - The rentals get kind of gross and sweaty. I knocked a star off for only 2 reasons. First, price (but, it's kind of par for the course with Chicago gyms). You basically have to buy a 6 month or year membership for the price to be worth it (month by month is just over $100, which seems nuts). Secondly, they barely have any kickboxing classes (I just checked the calendar and they seem to one 1-2 a week). PLEASE get more kickboxing classes! read more

I tried out their free trail class and let me just say WOW. It was tough!! But I loved it!! All of the staff was very helpful and kind to me. I went ahead and got a membership so I can come once a week!! I'm excited to start by boxing journey and see results! read more

If you're looking for an intense hour long workout, look no furthur. I went to a trial class to check it out. I have done martial arts with a solid boxing baseline for a few years, but recently changed jobs and am having a hard time getting to the right classes. I love the exercise aspect, so I wanted to check this place out. It helps to call and register for the class. They encourage it and it's a good idea. I have done cardio boxing type classes at many places, and this class completely tapped me out. I have my own gloves, but I think you can borrow them for trial classes - buy them if you join, using community gloves is gross. They also require handwraps, $10 if you don't have your own, and you will need them. They help you put them on if you're unfamiliar with how it's done. Class I took was more women than men but a good mix, and there were people who clearly had been at this for a month, and people who really knew how to hit a bag. Which means it appeals to people with an actual boxing background, so it's not some dumb fad. That's good. The instructor was Veronika and she was a taskmaster. It begins with some classic calisthenic warmup stuff, then gets right into 3 minute rounds. They structure the rounds so you're alternating between the bag and other simple bodyweight movements...the kind that start out fine and end up brutal. This repeats for 8 * 3 = 32 or so minutes. It's two days later and my legs are tired...this was a mostly upper body workout, right? NOPE. They do not spend oodles of time on proper form, footwork, and the type of combinations you'd actually use in a ring. That stuff is not the focus of a place like that, but that's fine, and you probably already knew that. If you are looking for a great workout and have never experienced the joy of hitting a 100# something as hard as you can/want over and over again, you gotta come check this place out. read more

Great club. My 16-year-old loved it. Variety of things to do and always interesting. Clean and organized.

I really loved the workout. It's a class, with pretty much a lot of people. Yet, it didn't feel crowded. I like the individuality of the class, but the sense of community. I was able to have my own boxing bag. Overall, the class fast paced, challenging, but didn't kill me. Love the feeling after the workout, something I long for every time I go to the gym. I'm actually going for my second complimentary class and joining them. read more

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH TITLE BOXING CLUB. It is a scam. They hustle you to sign up then if you need to pause a membership, well, just cancel...if you can before you are auto-charged a $99-$150 fee every month (as they say "I don't write the contracts!"). Their staff nor customers will be able to keep up with the technicalities of pausing let alone canceling a membership. They are in the business of taking your money and brainwashed to believe they are helping you. Remember: it is a franchise on a subscription model and they are only it for the money. read more

I have been taking boxing classes at TBC Lincoln Park consistently for the last 3 months, and this is my favorite Chicago studio on ClassPass. I highly recommend classes led by Moses and Courtney, as they are well structured, the music is always on point, and you're likely to get some personal attention. But to be honest, all of them have their own unique style, and this studio has a great roster of instructors. The class format is 15 minutes of "warm up" (various HIIT exercises", followed by 6 rounds (for a 60 minute class) or 8 rounds (for a 75 minute class), ending with a 15 minute abs/core workout. The rounds are 3 minutes each with one minute of active rest. The studio has showers, changing rooms, and napkins. They also have complimentary boxing gloves but tbh they're rather stinky, and I prefer to use my own. Sunday classes are jam packed and it's difficult to find a spot, so if you're a first timer, pick a weekday and get there 15 minutes earlier to go over the basics with the staff. All, in all, TBC Lincoln Park is a great studio to pick up or level up on your fitness journey! I only wish they had more kickboxing classes. read more

Be careful when putting your membership on pause. I tried to do it over email and said to pause for 3 months. I missed a follow up email asking me what day to start and I thought saying I want to pause it for 3 months indicated immediately. I didn't go for three months. Long story short I missed my three month membership and was charged two additional months. They really don't care about working with you on issues...only if you renew for another year. I cancelled immediately. read more

Awesome workout, great instructors, good space. WORKOUT: This workout is awesome! You spent the first 15 minutes in a "warm up" which I would really call a high intensity portion of the workout, followed by 30 minutes of boxing drills, and 15 minutes of abs/cool down. This is a really awesome total body workout! INSTRUCTORS: I love the instructors here! I have taken class with Mario and Eric and they are both great! The perfect mix of encouraging and pushing you. I think they also do a nice job of explaining the punches in the beginning to newcomers and making them feel welcome. STUDIO: The studio is pretty big and clean. They require you to purchase wraps that you can either buy there or bring yourself but they are required. The only downside is that the gloves provided make your hands smell awful, but that is probably at any boxing studio. If you plan on attending regularly, may make sense to buy your own gloves. Highly recommended for a high intensity and killer workout! read more

I used to enjoy my experience at Title, until I tried to cancel my membership (due to the pandemic). I called, left messages, wrote emails, and even sent a handwritten letter, as specified in the contract. None of these messages were returned. Title continued to charge me. I had to cancel my debit card and start a new one. Then Title had their corporate folks calling me daily, to which I explained the situation, but they continued to call. Today I received a letter from a debt collector for the two months they kept trying to charge me. Terrible corporate customer service. I do not recommend this gym, if you ever want to get out of your contract. read more

I love everything about this place. I've been a member since July 2018, but I hadn't been coming regularly for a few months. The new year rolled around and I decided I needed to get back into shape. (I've lost over 10 pounds the past two months by doing this workout and cleaning up my diet.) I really like that the facility is big enough for a free weight area and a few cardio machines. Some days I don't do boxing or I arrive too late and there are no bags left, so I lift weights and hop on a treadmill. This workout is tough, but it's effective. The trainers will give you pointers on your form if they see you doing it wrong. Don't worry - you're not hitting a person, just a bag. This workout contains a 15 minute warm-up, 30 minutes of punching, 15 minutes of abs. Pace yourself and you won't feel like you're dying. Try this workout! read more

Some people do yoga to relax and clear their minds, and then there's me. I absolutely love the 75 minute class lead by Courtney on Sunday. There's no better/more fun way to get an amazing work out. The combos can be a bit challenging, but if you keep going you'll pick them up quickly. Really love the studio. I wish I lived closer, so I could go more often! I believe your first class is free, so definitely give them a shot :) read more

What a kick ass surprise! This place is clean, spacious, well laid out, and filled with new equipment. For my first time taking a serious boxing class, I decided on a noon weekday class so there'd be fewer people for me to make an ass of myself in front of. Also, being new, our instructor Jacob ran me through all the punches I'd be expected to rock, so class was easy to follow. I won't lie - I f'ing hate cardio and was dreading this place. Luckily, we rocked rounds of boxing drills where you could move around the bag and take things at your own pace. Oh, and the bags here are deluxe. I've been to other places where they're hard as a rock but at Title they're tough with enough give so that you feel like you're punching something without breaking your hand. Very realistic, and perfect for imagining you're actually beating the crap out of that one person you'd love to. Also, between each round of boxing there were breaks where you could grab some water or continue with recovery drills, like squats and lunges. So, with enough chances to catch my breath, I ended up really enjoying the workout and wouldn't hesitate to drag even the biggest cardio hater here. Note: Your first class is free and they have gloves for you to borrow, but you need to buy wraps at $10. read more

I have had the greatest experience with TITLE since I started going about three years ago. I had a membership, but switched to ClassPass to try more gyms near my house. It is the best and most fun workout I've ever done. Moses is my favorite trainer and I recommend that anybody, beginner or experienced, take his class. Like most gyms in Chicago, it's expensive, but I think it's worth it if you are going to go at least a couple times a week. Try a class for free and you'll be hooked! read more

I tried Title Boxing Club's boxing class with my roommate, who's a member. Note Title offers the first class free! All in all, I thought boxing was a fun and effective alternative to my typical kettlebell or TRX class. I can see why my roommate comes! The class included at least ten if not 15 minutes of cardio, providing a true total-body workout. I was a little frustrated that the instructor, who I otherwise liked, didn't explain how exactly to approach each movement, leaving me to mimic the people on my left and right. Perhaps Title Boxing Club could offer weekly classes for true beginners, breaking down the form to the last detail. (Should the punching bag swing like crazy or stay as still as possible, absorbing the weight from each punch? I could only guess.) read more

I tried Title Boxing Club in Lincoln Park a couple years ago, but started traveling for work and hadn't been back in a long time. With the new year, I decided to start going again and am really enjoying it. The front desk staff is great and the boxing classes are incredible. All the trainers teaching classes have been very skilled and have made the workouts fun, tough, but best of all a great workout that burns lots of calories. All the classes are full of people so it keeps the full class high energy. Moses, Courtney, Aidan and Kevin have been great. I look forward to trying classes with the rest of the team. Ok so I went into my title boxing class full of dread from the rumors I had heard about how challenging it is. But I put on my big girl pants and went for it! Here's how it went: Location: I live in bronzeville but went all the way up to the lincoln park location because they had the most convenient time for me that week. The location is small and could use some updating but it was clean and lucky for me I found a park right out front (though I can definitely see parking being a problem if you aren't coming on a dead monday night). Check-in: Check in was easy and convenient. Sign your waiver forms and buy your wraps if needed and you are pretty much set. They also have little lockers that are visible during class for your belongings which is helpful. The class: NOW here is where is gets real! Even though I gave title a 4 overall, Veronika and her class def deserve 5 stars! She kicks your butt for an hour solid with a mix of leg work, boxing sets, and core work alternating for every "round". She plays THEE best music to keep me pumped and dancing the entire time (all hip-hop) even when my lungs were about to collapse on themselves. Not going to lie I struggled but I didn't stop. After about the 5th or 6th round I didn't think I would make it, but when your on the floor on that last round when you think "This is the end" That final bell rings and she takes you through the cool down. All in all Title boxing is an awesome workout and I can really feel the difference after!! I will def be back :) read more

There's a reason this location has a lower Yelp rating than the other TBCs in Chicago. AFTER my boyfriend paid $35 to take the class, they decided to inform us that there was a new rule that wraps have to be worn. My boyfriend was not thrilled about having to pay $10 for wraps when he has his own pair at home that he would have brought had he known of the new rule. Then, they said they were unable to refund the money. He asked to speak wth a manager. One of the three ditzy women behind the desk replied "our manager is on the phone and I do not want to bother her." It doesn't take a genius in managing a business to know you do not refuse a customer the opportunity to speak with a manager, or to know that you should probably tell customers about new fees prior to charging them for a class. Neither of us will ever go back, and we highly discourage you from going there, too. read more
