Terrible customer service, committed insurance fraud, billed for labor and materials never performed and the work they did do was sloppy and incorrectly done, never had a project manager ever at my home to oversee their workers and Total Restoration subcontracted out alot of the work with my knowledge or consent...even after I told them up front I didn't want any work subcontracted out and they said they don't use subcontractors but then went against my wishes and did, Total Restoration went against my homeowner's insurances estimate and increased the allotted amount approved from insurance by claiming "work performed after hours"; however, it was during regular business hours...Insurance quoted $7K for the dryout of my home after it flooded; however, Total Restoration billed me for $10K, I had to file a police report for $8k worth of personal property their employees and subcontractors stole from my home, Total Restoration's employees and subcontractors damaged multiple walls, left holes in the drywall, and damaged my furniture and flooring, their employees constantly smoked cigarettes instead of working on my home and left cigarette buds all over garage and yard; as well as, empty beer and soda cans, I contacted both owners (Cleve Morton and Tim Bach) MULTIPLE times (via phone calls, emails, and text messages) asking the owners to please get involved and manage the project on my home personally moving forward as there was never a project manager overseeing the workers and subcontractors; therefore, my belongings were stolen and the workers were unskilled and causing additional damages to my home and personal property than what was already damaged from the initial flood...Cleve Morton apologized and said he would rectify all the wrongdoing that was taken place at my home and promised he would personally come to my home and supervise the workers moving forward but then he never showed up and would not return my multiple calls, emails, or texts. Therefore, I tried contacting the other owner Tim Bach again and he said he would come do a walk thru with me and assess all of the damages Total Restoration caused to my home and personal property but then the next day Tim Bach texted me saying Cleve Morton (the other owner) advised him not to meet with me and that I would have to use Cleve as my point of contact; however, I could never get a hold of Cleve which is why I was contacting him in the first place. Bottom line: Total Restoration did not restore my home to is previous condition prior to it flooding and actually made matters worse and caused additional damages, the owners never rectified the situation as they promised and refused to answer my calls, emails, and texts, the owners refused to come to my home to perform a walk thru of all the damages, I already handed them over the entire $17K insurance check for the repairs and mitigation and not only did they not complete the scope of work as set forth by the insurance adjuster, billed me for $23K. I have lost a great deal of equity in my home due to Total Restoration not completing the scope of work as set forth by the insurance adjuster, the work they did do needs redone, and I have additional repairs needed from the damages their employees caused. However, I don't have the money to get all the necessary repairs needed since I gave them the entire $17K insurance check in the beginning and should of waited until all the repairs were done and a final walk thru was performed...lesson learned. I am heart broken because I have worked so hard for my home and everything I have and they left my house in poor condition. Furthermore, I don't have the money to replace the $8k worth of personal belongings they stole and turns out filing a police report for theft was just a waste of my time and the police didn't take any further action against Total Restoration...all I got from filing a police report was a card with a case number to put on my fridge.I wish I would of had more time to research contractor reviews before hiring them because I would have seen that there are a lot of negative reviews and complaints against Total Restoration on the internet; however, since my home flooded unexpectedly and needed immediate action, time just did not permit. My hope is that me sharing my heartbreaking experience will spare other home owners from being taken advantage of by these scam artists. Please do your research before hiring a contractor and learn from my painful lesson. God Bless. read more
