I received lots of suggestions, but several people all said Guardian. I contacted them and they sent someone out immediately. The tech arrived and examined my windows. He showed me options and even had a working model on hand I could text out and review. He provided documentation for me to peruse as well. I asked for a quote and he gave me one on the spot. It was HIGHLY competitive with the rates I had been quoted by others so I didn't really need to hear anymore and decided to go with them. I had even considered not doing two of the smaller windows, but the quote was so reasonable I had them do all the openings. I reviewed some paperwork. He drew a map showcasing where each window was and the three large sliding glass doors. He explained they would handle everything with the permitting and the HOA. I have a difficult to reach HOA liaison, but they even helped with that, sending multiple emails and phone calls. The process really couldn't have been easier. We had a date scheduled for install immediately. They filed their paperwork with the city right away. Got the HOA locked in. And then just waited for the install date. Install was quick and painless (for me, not for the hard working installer). Shutters were put up. Inspector came a few days later and reviewed everything and signed off. Honestly, it was a breeze from the customer side. Really happy I went with them and looking forward to the first hurricane season in years where I don't have to spend a day putting up shutters! He diagnosed the problem, provided me with the blind manufacturer, their contact information, and indicated that the broken part was under a lifetime warranty. He suggested I contact them and provide them with my order number from 2014 when I purchased the custom blind. I did so, and sure enough the part is under lifetime warranty and I can have a new blind made and shipped to my home free of charge. The experience has been beyond frustrating! Not only are there significant quality concerns with the shades that were installed, but the installation itself remains incomplete. The issues include: Uneven alignment and inconsistent side gaps Fabric edges that appear frayed/damaged Visible rippling/waviness on the valences that makes the finish look distorted rather than clean and tailored Side channels and trim that do not appear properly finished or perfectly straight Overall installation details that lack the precision and refinement expected from a premium custom window treatment company In addition to the quality concerns, the installation was not completed properly: The wrong size was brought for the master bedroom shades One guest bedroom installation was only partially completed The bathroom shutters are still missing The breakfast nook window treatments are also still missing For the amount we invested, this entire process has been incredibly frustrating and far below the standard that was presented during the sales process. At this price point, I expected a polished luxury product, meticulous workmanship, accurate measurements, proper coordination, and a completed installation, not multiple unfinished items and visible defects.
