Left a review on Google about a poor experience, and nobody ever reached out to ask what could make it better, or how they could improve. I drove two hours for a follow-up appointment for the doctor to not take a look at my surgical site because of the post op notes. I absolutely do not recommend this place. read more

I went to Total Gastroenterology for my 10 year colonoscopy, first I had to have a consult. I met with Jason P., the APRN. He seemed good, he went over the cleansing routine, and then scheduled my colonoscopy. 5 days before the colonoscopy I had some questions, while I was talking with the office manager they mentioned I had a minimum of a $417 copay due. The preventative colonoscopy is free with my insurance. So I asked why, they said because it was a diagnostic colonoscopy. I ask why is it diagnostic?, they replied, "because you told Jason your anus was bright red and bleeding". I was like, are you kidding? So I talked with Jason, he just talked over me and was very unprofessional. Then I realized he had done this before. Not only did Jason put that false medical condition into my medical record, he added three other false medical conditions, and forwarded them to my primary care physician. When I asked for a new referral, my primary care physician included one of the false medical conditions in the referral. By adding the false medical conditions they were trying to make sure a gastroenterologists would only do a colonoscopy with sedation because they would expect to have to do surgery (like remove a polyp), that way they can say whatever they want about what they did when I was under, and bill me for it. Stay away from Total Gastroenterology , run by Dr. Ahmadi Bahram, and Jason. What they did to me was unprofessional and greedy. read more

Impossible to schedule an appointment. Nobody answers the phone and they never call back when they say they will. Doesn't give me any confidence that the physicians are any good either. Not trusting this practice with a colonoscopy!! read more

This place is horrible! First of all they try make you sign a sign in sheet when arriving to your appointment that includes your name and what dr you'll be seeing. It sits on the counter for all to see. What about HIPPA? I don't want everyone on that list knowing my name or what I am there for or who I will be seeing! Second of all, I let the nurse practitioner know I haven't eaten in several days and I was having major issues. Doctor wasn't in. She blew it off and gave me a prescription. I had an endoscopy scheduled for almost a month out. I called the office back a few days later telling them I still hadn't been able to eat to see if they could move the endoscopy up. In two weeks I had only been able to eat about 4 tablespoons of oatmeal a day, a banana and sometimes a few blueberries or a couple small bites of baked chicken. They said they didn't have an endoscopy sooner and to just take Prilosec. In the meantime I had to go to ER for more meds and an IV because I hadn't been able to eat much or hydrate. I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. I told my PCM what was going on and he was horrified. He sent me to a new Gastrologist who is AMAZING and they put me in for a rushed endoscopy within 2 days. I'm already feeling a ton better, no thanks to this place!!! I would NEVER, ever, ever, ever recommend Total Gastrology not even if I were dying! read more

Dr.Ahmadi is arrogant and has no time for his patients . I have twice witnessed him in verbal arguments with nurses at Doctor's Hospital . I had a procedure with him yesterday and the nurse asked if he would like to speak with a patient before me who just had a procedure . He said "no." Then he said " fine." He never spoke to me after my procedure and the nurse could not find him . She said he does that all the time and I need to complain or it will never change . He never called in my prescriptions for after the procedure and I've been on the phone trying to get them . Lakewood ranch office said they would make it happen , but after a couple hours nothing . So I called Port Charlotte and Thank God the front desk and nurse practitioner were kind and helped me out with getting them sent in. read more

I found Total Gastroenterology Bradenton, FL - Dr. Raffi Agopian- through my insurance company to address a common issue. When I arrived at the office, I was the only person in the waiting room and never saw other patients arrive during my visit. Strange. I was seen on Friday by Dr. Raffi Agopian, basic exam and he told me I had a tumor that needed to be removed IMMEDIATELY. I was scheduled for 1 routine procedure on Tuesday and surgery on Wednesday for the removal of the tumor. I was given a photocopy of how to prepare for the 1st procedure. This copy was very unprofessional with blacked out address and blurry print like it was a copy of copy. When the hospital called for the pre-procedure check-in, they went through all prescriptions I was on and informed me I couldn't have the surgery because the doctor did not have me stop certain meds 2 WEEKS before. I called the office, and they didn't tell me they cancelled both procedures, so I thought only the surgery needed to be cancelled. I asked why they didn't tell me to stop certain meds and they just said they didn't know what procedures this hospital required, that every hospital is different. When I arrived at the hospital, they told me everything had been cancelled and the office should have told me. They called the office while I was there to confirm ALL was cancelled. Needless to say, I was NOT happy after going through the prep. I called another doctor when I got home and made an appointment with them. They scheduled the 1st procedure Total Gastro was going to do 2 weeks after this visit. This office gave me a list of medications I needed to stop and when and a printed pamphlet of what to expect and prep to follow. Very professional. I had the routine procedure without incident and surprise NO TUMOR. When I went to the follow-up office visit 2 weeks later, I questioned the doctor again about the tumor that needed to be removed immediately. He assured me there was no tumor but did the same simple exam again that Dr. Agopian did and NO TUMOR. If you see Dr. Agopian and he tells you, you need surgery, GET A SECOND OPINION!! When I reviewed the notes of my visit with him on the Total Gastro site, things were noted that didn't happen. Just be cautious. read more

Total waste of time and money. Took my 83-year old mother here for a re-evaluation of a previously diagnosed condition (all medical data provided in advance). We had to start at the very We lobbied and advocated for antibiotics that are the commonly prescribed solution for the previously diagnosed condition. PA said she would check with the primary physician (whom we have yet to see) to get his opinion on starting antibiotics. Within a couple of days we got a call that an antibiotic was approved and ordered. What we didn't get was the name of the antibiotic and which pharmacy it was supposed provided to. After calling office personal everyday for another week with absolutely no intelligent answers it was determined that the antibiotic prescribed was only available from a speciality pharmacy and apparently it may eventually be mailed to our home. What a circus. Even in these times of COVID, if Total Gastroenterology got paid based on results they would be a non-profit. I wish we had never called them. read more

The girl at the desk asked me where I wanted my Rx ordered from and I told her "Express-Scripts"... then I saw the ARPN, (I guess the Dr. doesn't see many patients, I told the ARPN that I needed a Rx refilled with a new Prescription..she asked where to order it from, I told her Express Scripts (again)...today I get a message that my Rx is ready to pick up from Wal-Mart at a cost of $208.71. If they had ordered from Exp-Scr., my cost would be $10.00 ...they need to hire people that can read...this has happened 3 times now....My appointment was in the Punta Gorda office.. Plus I believe I am paying the full cost of the appointment, so, would like to see the Dr. once in a while. Am very discouraged read more

A terrible, terrible experience from start to finish. There's nothing about Total Gastroenterology that I can recommend. The staff in reception are rude. The nurses don't care. The billing staff are constantly confused and unhelpful. The place appears to be run from an office in central Florida, so no-one knows what's going on in Bradenton. No one at this place listens to the patient!! The office receptionist seems more concerned about her cigarettes than the patient. Misdiagnosis runs rampant here. If they give you a diagnosis, go elsewhere for confirmation!! Basically their opinion can not be trusted, 1) because they don't listen, 2) because they have preconceived notions, 3) they are just not good at what they do. read more
