I…read morecan't speak to the providers because I never got to see Dr. Matheus, only her nurse prior to a routine colonoscopy. The biggest problem with this office: her scheduler, Jessica. Yes, I'm going to call her out by name. Because I was able to trace back all the issues directly to her. My routine procedure was scheduled for a Monday. As per my instructions and all paperwork, I would be contacted on the Friday afternoon prior or possibly the Sunday afternoon prior regarding my arrival time. By Sunday evening at 7 o'clock when I had not received any updates. I made the executive decision (brilliant on my part), to NOT start my prep. As this was the weekend, there was no one who could answer my repeated calls. Not the office and not the surgery center. On Monday at around 10 AM I called the surgery center. I was told that my procedure had been canceled the Friday before by the office of Dr. Matheus. So next, I called Dr. Matheus's office and spoke with Jessica. She was very uncaring and nonchalant and told me that she had left me a voicemail. On Friday. She did not. I asked her to review her notes, make sure she had the correct number? Jessica stated she didn't write anything down. (by the way, I'm an RN and if you didn't chart it, it didn't happen). I received no missed calls and no voicemails from Jessica regarding cancellation. I asked to be transferred to the office manager and I left a detailed message with a request for call back. Never received a response. Then this OFFICE kept calling me to remind me of my follow up appointment? Luckily, I got to speak to Jessica again. I asked her why I needed a follow up appointment for a colonoscopy that never happened. And then asked her why my colonoscopy was canceled. Jessica said that she was supposed to obtain the authorization from my insurance company and she never did that. No apologies, no empathy, not any bit of ownership that SHE dropped the ball on this one. I have since changed providers, but have told this story to as many people as I can. Because if you're gonna hire your family - And believe me, Jessica has to be related to somebody to keep this job - you should at least try to hire the smarter relatives. The best outcome for me is that I avoided taking the prep. And I found a lovely provider in Dr. Demasi. I would tell you to avoid this clinic at all costs. They are a factory and they don't care about the individual.

All this stemming from ONE panic attack that led to the inappropriate prescribing of these POISONS; not once did any of these lessen my symptoms, but rather worsened them and presented new ones which led to more drugs and new false diagnoses. And the worst, an attempted OD that left me hospitalized. But first: I was only on levothyroxine for years, and after ONE panic attack he had me STOP it for 4 days, then restart it at 50%, a drastic reduction after being stable for decades. He then gave me Xanax, mirtazapine, busparone all within 2 weeks and didn't stop there. He did not once appear to monitor the effectiveness and potential paradoxical effects, which we now know was the case: the drugs worsened the symptoms they were designed to treat. Both my husband and I both left his " practice" due to the aforementioned incompetence and unjustified arrogance of his refusal to refer me to an endocrinologist once another physician ( granted, a former anesthesiologist turned wellness MD) ordered blood labs that showed a high level of thyroid antibodies leading to a Dx of Hashimotos. (Aside: Kahane also declined my request for a referral to a dermatologist to remove my husband's skin tags, claiming he could do it... we were horrified when he proceeded to numb him with lidocaine and cut the 30+ of them with a scalpel, which by the way my husband felt, rather than cauterize them as we had anticipated. I went from living a HEALTHY and productive life as a physical therapist and athlete to being mostly bed bound and suffering from a myriad of major medical problems. Look up the dangers of not tapering these poisons, as well as lingering effects on the nervous system, BIND ( benzo. Induced neurologic dysfunction), kindling... find Dr. Josef on YouTube. Got more out of him from an hour video than sessions with this incompetent "doctor".
