Having spent many years in the medical profession, I was less than impressed with this office starting with making the initial (referral) contact which I was ready to overlook until... I returned the phone call to make my appointment only to be told they could not find the referral from my doctor. So, okay I let that slide. They reluctantly made my appointment without finding the paperwork and then appointment day came. I did what turned out to be a consult with nurse practitioner (most of this information was general, on my chart and all was on the online paperwork I filled out prior to appointment). She was delightful and yes, I realize the nurse practioners can fill in for physicians however I never saw the doctor! Now onto the appointment specialist who severely lacks people skills. Let's give her a little slack for making colostomy appointments all day BUT (no pun intended) she's not running an army boot camp. Anyone in a position that deals with the general public should have some people skills. Don't like your job, find another one; think your more important than me, let me be the one to tell you, you're not! I explained to her that I was going to be away at a certain time, she informed me that I had to have this done within 30 days or we would be starting over including paying for a new office visit to go over the same information that I just did. I was totally confused. It was like I was asking for 6 months from now; I was asking for 1 week later however she insisted I could not do that. I let her go through the entire setup procedure with me, left and knew from that point I would not keep the appointment because of my schedule and even if I could, I wouldn't. I did not like the feeling I had when I left. Today I called to cancel and was transferred to the same appointment coordinator as I will refer to her. She was just as callous with me today as she was initially. I don't regret cancelling as a matter of fact, I am relieved. There are other doctors/facilities. Personally, many people ask for referrals for medical consults/procedures, people trust me, I will not refer this office even though I felt the nurse and nurse practitioner were wonderful. read more
