I recently purchased a condo that needed some remodeling and I decided to start with the floors. Replacing the old ugly carpeting with new vinyl flooring was a priority. The first place I went was to one of the major home improvement retail stores but I didn't get the help that I was looking for and there always seemed to be an issue. I decided to try a smaller local company that specialized in flooring and has been around for a long time but there were issues with them too. At this point, I started to get a little frustrated but I needed floors so I decided to try Total Flooring in Homer Glen. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by one of their employees. He introduced himself and told me his name was John and that he'd be more than happy to help me out with whatever I needed. I began by explaining what I was looking for and trying to do as well as the issues I had dealing with the other companies. John listened to everything I said and then reassured me that he'd be able to help me out and guaranteed me that I'd be happy with the outcome. John began helping me from that first day and stayed in constant communication throughout the entire process. On the day of installation, John was also able to find the time and stopped by while on his way to work just to make sure everything was going as planned. After all the issues I had with the other companies it was finally my turn to have an issue. The prior night I ran into a situation that caused me to fall behind with several things that I needed to do prior to the install. John and the supervisor of the install crew quickly came up with several options and within a matter of minutes there was a new plan and the installation was back on track. The install crew took over and was amazing. Juan was the supervisor and Carlos and Noe were his crew members. They immediately got to work and when I say work these guys worked. With the improvised changes, I was able to finish taking care of the things I needed to do in one area of the condo while the crew started their work in another area. Now I have always thought of myself as having a good work ethic and to me, I was moving at a good pace but before I knew it Juan, Carlos, and Noe were almost done with half of the condo. This crew was amazing and worked their asses off and when you work around people like that it actually makes you work harder so I kicked it into another gear and quickly finished doing what I had to do and got out of the crew's way so that they could finish. Juan, Carlos, and Noe far exceeded my expectations and when the installation was complete, I was totally satisfied with how everything looked. John of course reached out to me like he had done during the entire process and made sure that I was happy with how everything turned out. To make a long story as short as possible.... Total Flooring installed an engineered wood floor in my condo in June of 2018. This is a glue down over cork application. There were several issues with the installation and the product. After three attempts at repair it was finally decided the floor had to be replaced. This is where Ken, the manager of the store, stepped in and really showed that Total Flooring does stand by their customer. The old floor was removed and replaced with a new engineered wood floor with a different product and a different installer. The new floor is beautiful and installed very professionally. From a current employee. This company will ask for you to deliver material alone. Just like in the pictures. They will also ask you to take out the trash and work on the gutters. That's right go on the roof in January and work on the gutters. Sales personnel will be paid 3 times as much money and never installed a floor in their life. The salesman are hairdressers and photographers. Not flooring experts. Don't believe any promises from Total flooring. read more

Patrick Kois was our sales rep and he could not have been more diligent in his customer service. TF installed carpeting in several rooms and then I decided to install some vinyl flooring in the basement. There was a bit on an issue with the height of the carpeting and padding that met the new flooring, but he came up with a perfect solution and it was installed quickly since I was having pictures taken to list my home. Our family recently purchased carpet from Total Flooring for my stairs and basement, and we would gladly recommend them. Our salesperson was Ron, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable in addition to being able to hit our price-point. We do not live nearby, and he even came out to our house with several different carpeting options that would work with our budget. In the end, even with a higher-end padding, their total price came in under that of a local competitor and something similar from one of the big box stores. They were able to work with our remodeling timeline, and the installers did a fantastic job. We are very happy with this purchase! read more

What to expect: extensive damage, no clean up, no apologies, and a lot of disrespect. We had 3 small bedrooms, 1 hallway, and stairs carpeted. All furniture, old underlayment, carpet, and tack strips were carefully removed by us, the homeowners, prior to the install. As you can see from the pictures, the subcontractors left extensive damage like scratches, dings, grease marks, yellow glue on multiple baseboards, door trims, corners, walls, and the hallway ceiling. We were originally told from the salesperson that these were not subcontractors, they were employees of TF. That was a lie. When we brought up the damage to TF, they said that the marks can be wiped away and that the damage would be covered by furniture. This is not an appropriate excuse for their poor workmanship. TF then tried to blame the damage on us. TF does not stand behind their clients, so we are writing this review to make other potential clients aware. Walls cannot be painted in patches because it leaves hotspots. Entire walls and the hallway ceiling needed to be repainted to cover up scratches, entire baseboards and trims needed to have the grease marks removed and then repainted. Has anyone ever tried to remove grease marks from flat ceiling paint, yeah it does not work. Nothing is more nerve racking then having to repaint on top of fresh carpeting. The contractors left shreds of carpet pieces everywhere for us to vacuum up after they left. 4 vacuum canisters full of shreds. What a terrible way to leave a client's home. Total Flooring damaged our property, wasted our time and hard earned money, and could not come to a resolution for reimbursement. Shame. Stay far away! read more

I love everything about Total Flooring. I have known them for many years. The fact that they are a family owned business makes them rate very high with my family. We have contemplated new flooring for a while and saw many of the employees last week and decided to get this project rolling. We need the whole house redone. Sherry Beller was so helpful in guiding me. Patrick Kois came out and brought sample of the Costo flooring we are interested in. He took the measurements, answered every question we had and told us he would have the information in 24-48 hours. In less than a few hours, (when we thought he had gone home to dinner and a little relaxation with his family), we found the answers in our email. Our salesman was Neil and he was a pleasure to work with and a lot of help in making our decision. We ended up with a Mirage product and we couldn't be happier. It is beautiful. Purchased our carpeting and wood flooring thru Costco and was serviced by Total Flooring. Great price and super service. Pat helped me with choices and was very patient. I had to change my mind on colors several times and there was never a problem. Pat made several trips to his sample truck on a blazing hot day without complaint. The installers were very nice and attentive, cleaned up afterward and removed the old flooring. I would recommend Total Flooring to anyone considering new flooring. Unfortunately I had to give one star because it would not allow me to check no stars. My wife and I stopped in to get an estimate on hardwood floors. We walked around the store for 20 minutes, past 3 sale associates, and they did not assist us. In fact, they couldn't even say Hi! This place is a total joke....over priced product, no customer service, and a waste of time. Stay clear away from total flooring. You can get a better quality product for 1/2 the price at Lumber Liquidators, and they have great customer service! read more

Had a great over all experience with Total Flooring. My wife and I went to numerous places and they had the right look and quality we were looking for. My 87 y/o mom and I searched the southern burbs for a carpet/price for her town home; for a year. She did not want beige nor the 7,000 iterations of that color. Sales people consistently told her it would help the resale value. Yeah right, like she cared. Last winter I stopped into Total Flooring and John there spent quite the time helping me look thru books to find a rose color that worked for her. In the meantime she installed new windows and laid off looking for carpeting. Last month she went on a quest again to get the new carpet. I will call out Art Van and say she found her color and the price was stupid expensive along w ala carte services. They wanted $1 per square foot to move two couches and a curio cabinet so they could install the carpet. EVERYTHING was $$$. I was out of town and mentioned to mom she should go back to Total Flooring. Now the short awesome part. John remembered us, found mom's swatch, came up w $ all in, moved furniture back and forth and cart away for less than half of Art Van's. Within 2 weeks, (out of town company was coming), it was in and done. Gorgeous. Great installers. Could not be happier w them and for mom. BTW, she knows whoever is going to buy her house when she, "goes round the corner to meet Dad", as she says, will rip it all out anyway. So she got the carpet she loves at a great price, no haggling, great respect, her home is fresh. We couldn't be more pleased. Just hoping she doesn't turn the corner too soon. read more
