Lived with cystic acne through high school/college years, have been through it all in treating the scars it left. It had been a while since I had done any drastic treatments so I wanted to try my hand at speeding up my progress with laser. They recommended I buy three rounds of radio frequency and Vbeam with exosomes, which came out to $5k. They promised serious results at the consultation, showed drastic before and afters, and it's of course hard not to fall for that when you've lived with scars for so long and would pay anything to make them go away, even when I was trying to be vigilant for that type of "prey on the desperate" behavior. By the end of my three rounds, I did not see a big improvement. I am an optimist and was ready to buy into the "you have to give it time to let the skin heal before you see the real results" mindset, but at my exit appointment, they were really pushing me to buy more services and kept saying that if I really wanted the results promised at my first consultation then I would have to do more rounds and of course spend thousands of more dollars. That was my "aha" moment where I realized that this place was not what I was looking for. I am now more than three months post all three rounds and still have seen no big improvement. I feel like my gut to walk away was right. I was reminded you cannot rush progress- do not let them sell you on a dream. You are better off investing in monthly microneedling/peels/facials. I have a wonderful esthetician in Costa Mesa that owns her own business and has done miracle work with my skin at a fraction of the cost- I recommend trying to find someone like that instead of sinking all your funds here. 2 stars only because the woman who did my initial consultation was very kind. read more

I've been going to Total Dermatology for over 8 years now and although there's no stopping aging, my skin looks amazingly BETTER NOW than when I was 8 years younger thanks to Dr. Pilest and his awesome team of nurses, aestheticians and all the support staff who makes every visit easy and comfortable. My Fountain of Youth Team for sure! I didn't realize how much skin damage I had (and how much older it made me look!) until I started seeing the treatment results! And the ongoing maintenance definitely has helped keep things fresh! I love the results I've gotten especially with Thermage, Fraxel (my fave!) and Botox (of course!). Have tried other treatments including fillers and have always had a positive experience, but the trio treatment (Thermage/Fraxel/Botox) has been my go-to that works best for me for ongoing maintenance.
