Dr shafa is the best in the skin industry in SoCal. It took me years to find someone like her. I originally came to her for a stubborn keloid that would never fully go away, and she was the first person who actually helped me get results. I also see her for my syringomas and have continued coming back ever since. She's incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cares about her patients. Plus, she's beautiful too! If you're looking for someone you can trust with your skin, I highly recommend her. She's truly one of a kind. read more

I probably should have written this review a very long time ago. I started seeing Dr. Shafa almost 20 years ago. During that time, she has been unflaggingly kind and generous with her time. She has seen me with extremely short notice, has offered me advice during off-hours, and has been incredibly supportive of me and my family. She is a thoughtful physician and a caring person. Although dermatology is her specialty, she has a sound grasp on several areas of medicine and offers thoughtful referrals as necessary. If you have a dermatology issue, I can't think of anyone I would recommend other than Dr. Shafa. read more

Had to wait over 30 minutes before seeing the doctor only to be told to go home and reschedule another appointment a couple weeks later. Doctor Parvin asked really insensitive questions and instantly judged me. She doesn't listen to her patients and just does whatever she wants even if the patient is uncomfortable. Her assistant pressured me to accept a second appointment and was rude and inconsiderate. I cancelled the second appointment after arriving home and will never return. They even gave me a phone call a month later so they can steal more of my money. Never go to this place ever unless you want to donate your money and not get any treatment. Some medical folks are only in it for the money and she is one of them. read more

I have a great experience with Dr Shafa , she removed big mole from the neck without pain. No scar left. She is very patient and listened all my concerns carefully. She spent a tome to discussed the procedure without pushing for it. All post up follow up is free of charge because doctor gives 100% guarantee the result. No additional payments for post up needed. The office professional and friendly. Highly recommend this doctor to everyone who needs dermatologist. Thank you ! Attached pictures before and after. read more

She is the best Dr. ever. I do recommend her, she is kind and caring and her staff are very friendly.

this review is based on a consult. i was led to an office not an exam room. she came in and never came over and examined my skin and scarring. she "proclaimed" i would need four CO2 laser treatments at $1500 a pop. So we have no actual close examination (and i'm wearing make up so a closer look definitely expected for a PROFESSIONAL medical provider). Now how would she truly know how my scars would react to each session? i felt that her essential premise is each patient has to be worth XXX value and i'll make sure i get that much from each patient. i have no idea how you justify this interaction otherwise? Then, and this isn't the end of the world but shows lack of EQ, she said some fairly negative things about my skin and not in a professional way. Its okay but show some sensitivity -- you know how having any sort of "problem skin" is a HIGHLY SENSITIVE topic for a person and while yes there are scars it would be empathetic to be sensitive to how you describe things if you have any sort of understanding of psychology. read more

About 12 years ago, I came to see Dr Parvin for a mole removal on my face. She was so kind, gentle, and thorough in her care. I was worried about having a scar since I'd had other moles removed on my body that left marks. She is so skilled and professional that even years later, I still have no scarring. I recently brought my daughter in to see her as well, for mole removal, because I know Dr Parvin can be trusted to do the best work. read more

I met Dr Shafa originally when I had to have a sudden occurrence of a skin cancer removed. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours of call. She was kind; professional; knowledgeable and efficient. Everyone I met in the office is very nice and professional. Since my first visit I have chosen Dr Shafa for some medical cosmetic procedures. So far, so good. I'll update after the healing process of the facial CO2 laser treatment. read more

Dr. Shafa is so great! So kind and professional and really good at what she does. I went in for acne.

Highly recommend Dr. Shafa for all your dermatology needs. She is very knowledgeable, honest & you can tell she really cares about her work. Glad I found her! read more

I've been a patient of Dr Shafa since 2007. Dr Shafa and her staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The office is always spotless, organized and very inviting. I brought my nine year old son in to have two moles removed and Dr Shafa was very kind, patient and caring throughout the entire procedure. Myself and my family trust her with all are skincare needs. I highly recommend Dr Shafa. read more

I called to have a large skin abscess drained and the office was happy to schedule me with no problem but was unsure about whether the doctor could do the actual procedure same day. I drove from Corona and waited an hour to be seen. The doctor said the abscess was so large and uncomfortable (it was on my bottom and I couldn't sit) that she would drain it same day but I would have to wait. As I was waiting (im still here now), another woman came to notify me that if I wait longer (no exact time given), that the doctor is willing to stay "over time" and perform the procedure for an out of pocket cost of $495. She said although my deductible is paid and my out of pocket is fulfilled (I have ppo), they cannot run my insurance because they have met their quota of insurance patients for the day - so if I would like the procedure done today, I would need to pay out of pocket. If I agree to come back another day, they can run my insurance so I don't have to pay out of pocket. I have a 5month old baby who is medically unstable and has a surgery in two days and another toddler at home - the reason I needed the procedure done is because I will be in the hospital inpatient this week for my baby's surgery, like I told the staff and doctor, and I can barley sit. They were not sympathetic at all and said "it's my choice" - I could either pay of of pocket to have the procedure performed day of or come back so they can run my insurance (is that legal - could someone let me know)? Anyway, I wasted my entire day and left two babies at home to get this done and apparently can't unless unless I pay out of pocket. Super shady, irresponsible, and unprofessional. I'm so disappointed. I was excited to support an Iranian doctor and feel so let down. read more

Dr Shafa is a miracle worker! I have had deep acne scars for 40 years. It has absolutely ruined myself confident and has been a struggle for me my whole life. I've had two sets of dermabrasion done back in my 20s , and multiple laser treatments, with not very good results. I came to Dr Shafa and she did the subcision and filler in my scars. it hasn't even been a week, but the difference is amazing! I'll be going back to do the TCA cross on the deeper scars and I'm excited to see what the results are. I'll update my review as I continue my journey with Dr Shafa. I appreciate how truly concerned she is with helping me achieve my best results. I can't even start to explain the shift in my self-esteem after just one session with her. If you have deep acne scars I highly advise you to go see her. read more

I'm so grateful to have Dr. Shafa and her team! I had a really bad infection on my finger that was causing intense pain. Dr. Shafa took my call after hours, prescribed medication right away, and went above and beyond by coming in before her first appointment the next morning to take care of the issue--despite being completely booked. Her kindness, dedication, and exceptional care truly made a difference. I can't recommend her enough! read more

Reliable, knowledgeable, friendly, and convenience is how I can describe Dr. Shafa and her staff at medical spy in Irvine. I got a C02 fractional laser with Dr. Shafa for my acne scars. I've done this laser at other places before but this is the first time I actually saw results!!! I haven't felt this confident in a while! Thank you Dr. Shafa!!! read more

I was there for Alopecia not for beauty but however I say the doctor is knowledgeable but I was waiting like half an hour more in waiting room for her to do her facial thing! Why? Why I needed to wait for her to do her own facial while I already had an appointment!! Second she was talking about beauty services and lasers! I didn't ask for that! All in all I never get back there! read more

Quick & painless! I have been seeing Dr. Shafa and her team for 3 years now. I've had close to 10+ moles removed, both incision and laser. All of them have healed incredibly well to the point where you couldn't tell they were there AND they were fairly large AND almost all on my face/head!! Dr. Shafa and her team have played a big part restoring my confidence as I begin to lose my hair as I get older. Now I can be confidently bald without worrying about people staring at my blemishes. Dr. Shafa and her team were extremely friendly and did an amazing job informing me, making sure it was painless, and following up with me. I will be going to Dr. Shafa and her team for everything in the future. Thank you so much! Highly highly recommend. read more

Dr Shafa is the best! Her office staff are always very accommodating and friendly. Dr Shafa is so skilled and the only doctor I trust with any cosmetic procedures (mole removal, cyst removal) and injectables like dysport and filler. She recently removed a cyst from my cheek and there was no scar at all. I have had bad experiences with dysport and filler at other places but have only ever been super happy with Dr Shafa's results - always looks so natural and she is so fast and efficient. Wouldn't go anywhere else and I cannot recommend Dr Shafa enough! 10/10! read more

Amazing doctor! So skilled, so thorough. The absolute best in SoCal. Highly highly recommend!!!

I had Kybella done here some years ago and unfortunately had to pay the price (big time) down the road. The injections were done superficially and causes such severe scar tissue that I just went through a liposuction procedure to have the scar tissue removed. I may need to get further steroid injections under my chin to treat any scar tissue that may form again from the result of the Kybella injections. I think the most upsetting part is doctors not informing and educating their patients as to what their best options are. Injecting anyone with anything because it profits you isn't what being a doctor is about. Finding the right solutions to the problems people come to you with IS what being a good doctor should be about, and I wish I could have had a positive experience here. I regret the time, money and energy I wasted on this establishment and the terrible Kybella product. I would advise against Kybella and any doctor that pushes it, run away! read more

Dr Shafa treated a red bump growing on my eyelid. It's such a delicate area, and I was extremely worried for scarring. She did an amazing job with minimum discomfort. Now 6 month later, it's well healed without the tiniest of scar. read more

You never know who's going to come into your office and yelp about you... so it's always good to provide excellent service and treat your customers with respect! This dermatologist is greeaat! Dr. Shafa is soo gentle and warm. Right off the bat she looked at me and told me exactly where my skin problems were... and she didn't try to push anything on me. She wanted to use gentle yet effective treatments so she gave me the Obagi line to use. I even went online to read reviews about this product and almost everyone had positive things to say about it. When I came in for a 2nd visit she said "we're not going to charge you for this office visit, but I would still really like to sit down with you and go over the Obagi line with you so you know exactly what to do and what to expect." Dr. Shafa - "I told my assistant to look online and compare prices so we can give you the best price possible. The line can be kind of expensive but we tried to give you the best possible deal." I felt completely at ease all the times I've been there. Her staff is really approachable and nice too. Everyone there is just really warm and helpful. I'd really really recommend her. read more

They removed a mole and sent the mole to a lab that was not covered under my insurance and now I have to pay an additional $330 which is not my fault. I spent more money going through my insurance and could've spent less if I paid out of pocket. The staff was nice and I liked the doctor herself, but this was total BS..they should tell patients before sending their stuff to a lab that it is NOT covered in the patient's network. read more

Although I have only been a patient of Dr. Shafa's for three months, the results ive seen have surpassed my expectations and fears of treating my current acne and acne scars. I have done multiple chemical peels & as a first timer I was terrified but she carefully explained all the precautions and side effects that made the healing process a success. We still have our work cut out for us moving foward but I have the upmost confidence in Dr. Shafa that she will get me to the point where make up is no longer needed! So glad I made the leap and found this awesome facility who has done nothing but put my needs and first. Definitely helps that the staff in the office is very nice and supportive. :) read more

I've been to Dr Shafa 3 times now and each time has been a fantastic experience. She is very caring and made sure that everything was checked and good to go before I left. Also, I had a clogged pore that she seamlessly took care of leaving no mark or scarring. I would STRONGLY recommend Dr Shafa!! read more

Dr. Shafa is amazing! I visited Dr. Shafa to have her perform a procedure called TCA CROSS on my acne scars a couple months ago. I had several deep ice pick scars, some boxcar scars, and large pores that she used the TCA to treat. I just completed my third session with her, and I am more than satisfied with the results. My pores are much smaller and my deepest scars are nearly level with the skin surrounding them and hardly noticeable now. I am definitely going to continue having this procedure done with Dr. Shafa to see how much more my skin will improve; so far my acne scars have responded way better to these three rounds of TCA CROSS than to the multiple rounds of RF microneedling I've had done in the past. If you're looking for a great procedure to heal deeper scars that has little downtime, I 100% recommend TCA CROSS with Dr. Shafa. read more

Honestly I wish I could give this office a better review but my experience with this doctor was terrible. Came in for some dry scalp issues but Dr Shafa kept on telling me I had lice. I did a treatment, still lice, went to a professional lice removal, they confirmed I don't have any but according to her I still have lice. Went to another professional lice removal (thinking first one messed up), they looked at my scalp under a microscope, no lice, nope, Shafa is convinced I still have some. OMG! She didn't do anything to help me with my dry scalp. One of the lice ladies told me I need to teach my doctor (Shafa) what lice look like. What a joke! I stopped going there and had my dry scalp issues taken care of elsewhere and they didn't see any lice! shocker! lol she was also rude and not friendly at all. What a royal waste of money. Never stepping into this office again and would recommend others to stay away unless you want someone to keep telling you you have lice and do nothing about your real concern. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Shafa for a long time. I moved 70 miles away but keep coming back to her after the experiencing 4 other dermatologists closer to where I live. Dr. Shafa is excellent. She successfully non surgically dissolved fat deposits in abdominal areas that bothered me for years with a few treatments. Almost no bruising or swelling. No downtime. Dr Shafa's fee was much lower than other providers. My parter did not notice the treatment areas she treated. Dr Shafa is very kind, informative, and caring. I will definitely be going back to see her again to treat other unflattering fatty areas on my body read more

If you're looking for the right dermatologist in Orange County, THIS is your spot! Dr. Shafa and her staff (shout out to Natalie as well) are TRUE professionals and treated me and my skin issues with patience, courteousness and professionalism. I was very self-conscious and nervous about my skin issues but Doc and her staff made me feel comfortable, normal and at ease during my procedure. I am thankful to have found this spot and will return back if I ever have future skin issues. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing a dermatologist. Thank you. Very disappointed in the treatment at this practice. Front office personnel was fine, but dr. Shafa, RUDE... the visit was a waste of my time. I had an appointment for a free consultation for dermaplanning which is advertised on the website that she performs this procedure. Called for price of procedure and they told me that they couldn't give me one unless i see the doctor and that they offered a free consultation. Arrived at her office told her what i wanted and she rushed me out the door referring me to her facialist.? In which the facialist said she doesn't offer that service. Went back into the office and asked who does offer the procedure and the doctor said she does but its too time consuming and doesn't want to do it. I have never experienced that sort of treatment from a doctor before. I would much rather pay if i was going to get better customer service. Good thing it was free and I saw the negative attitude as that is not a place I would like to spend my hard earned money. Im in the medical field and I know what quality service is, and she did not provide that and that is extremely unfortunate. read more
