Nick arrived early and was very professional. He explained everything to me and answered all my questions. He sprayed inside and out on my lanais and told me what to watch for. He told me about the yearly plan but I couldn't decide which plan I wanted. He was nice and gave me the deal price. Nice guy! It is my understanding that Total Control is (the company you actually get) as sub contractor for many, if not most, companies claiming to be termite tenting companies in the Sarasota area. My neighbor used them, Although he hired someone else, and got them unknowingly as a sub. I met the crew over the fence, connected with Brian the estimator. We used them , and I have recommended them to 10-15 homeowners and other Real Estate pros in the area. I have heard nothing but good things. I was given a high recommendation by a co-worker to use Total Control Termite and Pest so I called them up and made an appt to inquire about tenting for termites. Brian came out on June 11, 2021 and was very nice and knowledgeable and explained the process, so I decided to go with them. My appt was for August 13 and he required payment upfront for $1,075, which I hesitantly but in good faith did on credit card. Fast forward to July 16, 2021. I am in the process of selling my place so I called and spoke with Brian and cancelled, which he was fine with, and requested to have my money credited back to me. After not hearing back from Brian since that call nor receiving my credit back on my card, I called his office yet again on the 28th, and the woman I spoke with had no idea I cancelled and would have to check with Brian on whether they would be crediting my card or sending me a check. I have yet to hear back from anyone, so I will be calling again today. I am really regretting pre-paying for a service 2 months early, but like I said, my friend has used them for years so I trusted their intel. I am hoping The company will be contacting me today to resolve this issue and in good faith refund my $1,075. Time will tell! read more

Total Control Termite & Pest Tenting --Worst company for FL tenting! Wish I could give Negative Stars. I did not choose them, they were contracted via my pest company. They literally threw the tarp bundles (80 lbs or more each) down on our roof, cracking the ceilings inside throughout and had to have tenting redone at their expense 5 months later because termites were still live! Upon removing tarps, they just dragged them across our roof to the ground taking all the shingle granular off our roof and knocking over bending/breaking our flag pole, which can't be repaired. We ended up having to put on a new roof on recently And will have to dig up cement base of flag pole to start over. But, of Course none of this is their fault or liability - you sign that away before they begin! It is a fly by night operation. Do your research. read more

I have used Total Control termite and pest professionals for over eight years in my home and in two rental properties. The Total Control team are a family business. We have had the full Florida plague experience of termites, cockroaches, wood eating termites and fat mango fed rats that decided to live in our house siding. Everyone from Total Control was professional, reliable and personable. From first contact with the efficient, friendly office staff you are kept informed of appointments, timings and the technicians are friendly, competent & know their stuff! We are so impressed with their honest service. A few years ago Dell Bartley the owner confirmed that we had termites and we needed to have our home tented - he thought we had a warranty & called the office to look it up. Sure enough we were unaware we were under warranty from the previous owners. This week he came to the home as we found termite droppings and were afraid we had another infestation - we were relieved to find out it wasn't the dangerous type of termites and no need for treatment. Again no charge and clear instructions on what to look out for and to just call in if we had any doubts. I have recommended Total Control to many people and another friend also had the experience of fearing they had rats to be told that the droppings were cockroach and mice and no charge. Total Control are a trustworthy, honorable business in a world where fear of Infestation leads to the man in the street being taken advantage of. I did not pick this company. They were chosen by my Agent to do an inspection of my home regarding an out of state move to the area. If I had it to do over again I would not have used them and I would not recommend them to anyone. They home was under bond with Chet's Termite & Pest Control, whom I now use to service my home. Tenting of the home was recommended in Total Control's Report however no active infestation was demonstrated to the previous owner. The Seller decided to have the home re-tented (Previously tented By Chets in 2010 for the same infestation type Drywood Termites). Being the buyer with no fiduciary responsibility I had no reason to object to the additional treatment. I had someone watch the house to make sure the tent remained on for 24hrs and to review the work was completed as specified. The tent was placed at 3PM and removed the following day at 10am. The workers showed up in a Budget Truck not a company truck and questioned about the shorter time period denied the tent was not on for the 24 hr period. I asked to speak with the owner and he never returned my call. When I called back I was told that he was on vacation and would return in a week. I asked to have him call me upon his return. He never did. When I went to get the Bond Transferred to my name they did not spell my name right. When I asked that it be rectified and send me a new copy of the bond I was told by the secretary in an email "It's right in the file and that's all that matters." At that point I was done with Total Control Termite & Pest. I will not be renewing my bond and was able to get Chet's to renew their bond at the expiration date of their last inspection. read more

I had this Company come and tent my House....I told Him i had Bugs bitting me....He said this will kill any thing....Well it cost me $750.00 and i stayed in a Motel in Tampa....toltal was $1250.00 every thing....Came Home my Landry Room had water on the Floor....I Called the company and they said 1 of there Guys Broke a Water Pipe....and they will be out tomarrow to fix....They did....2 Days after they left i was getting bit , again....I was then told we tent only for Termites....I said i want it Tented again....He said not happening.....This Company is a Rip Off.....Save your self the Headache ....and do not use them...So now i have to find a company that can fix my Problem they sure did not....they just took my Money.. read more

If I could pick zero stars I would. Total Control treated the house in June. In December we found more termites and the Company was sent out again. In February we had another company go out to inspect the house and termites were still found, the second inspector said that the product Total Control used was not applied properly. It took another 2 weeks to get Total Control to go out there again. They did not drill holes in the cement areas as specified in the product manual the first time they went out. The second time they drilled holes near the garage but not in the other parts of the cement. The third time they drilled holes and applied the product in another section of the house. The question is why did they not treat the entire house the way the product manual states from the beginning. After almost a year we have extensive damage in the garage, we have been advised to to bring in an engineer to see if we have structural damage. This is not a company that you want to do business with. read more

After buying a house, we found it was infested with silverfish and it had both flying and subterranean termites. We called several companies and Total sent Del out the same day. Del was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about our pests. He gave us a fair estimate for tenting and continuing treatment which was less expensive than the non-tenting option. The pest control employees were very hard working, polite, and did a great job for us. We are very happy with the service from Total Control and would recommend them highly. read more

Unfortunately I did not have any say in pest control companies, my cheap landlord chose them. First off Dell (some talking head) said to call him the night before and he would give us a window of when they were coming, called the night before and he said to call in the am. I called in the am we were told they would tent between 12 and 2pm. They came at 5:30. Great estimate!. I have a security camera and these idiots come in turn some lights on (I mentioned they came at 5:30) check the house , plug in 2 fans and promptly leave , leaving the lights on.? 2 days later 2 different people come in go to the kitchen, open the refrigerator and go to the back bedrooms where I assume to look around and go back out THEN come back in and unplug the fans and leave still leaving the lights on( this is after I texted Dell to ask them to shut them off). The guy who came to clear the house came in, checked the rooms and shut the light off( he was the only one who didn't look around, just came in and did his job. Get a security camera to monitor any one who works in your house and don't hire these people. read more
