I have had small torn labrum for years that causes intermittent problems. I am a Pilates instructor, a swimmer, and an aerialist, so I use my upper body A LOT. Dr. John helped me get my shoulder out of a chronic state of annoyance into a calm and steady state where I don't really have to think about much if I keep it strong. This place is a joke. I have PPO insurance and they were unable to tell me my coverage, so I refused to schedule a 2nd appt. 5 months later, they try to bill me in full for the initial appt, without entering a claim into my insurance. During my first visit, I wasn't given the dry-needle technique I was told I'd get by phone. The quack there says "we'll consider that after a few sessions" right before asking to see me 3 time a week. Awful place. read more

Updated review 10/4/18: Andrea Shavitz is wonderful! The practice is warm, inviting and all encompassing. The chiropractic care is from head to toe, very invasive and thorough. Every need, want or desire is paid attention to and a comprehensive plan is personally made for you to succeed - from twice a week to a once a month maintenance plan. There's also an in house massage therapist (Shelley!) that MAY be covered by your insurance! I have to say, one of the best focused massages I've had. I'll preach that the massage is key to your chiropractic care and success. I've had a full body 60 minute, or even a 30 minute focused on the head/neck/shoulders when I had a nasty sinus infection - and it HELPS. On another note, Dr. Luke saved my feet. I've been a dancer my whole life and plantar fasciitis is such a nuisance. After multiple cortisone shots in each foot, the pain returned and I wasn't sure what to do. With a recommendation from Andrea, I started seeing Luke for dry needling (or more invasive acupuncture) twice a week. I can't say it's comfortable getting needles worked in the bottom of your foot, but it was worth it - the pain is GONE. I don't even have to think about it anymore, worry about taking that first step of the day, or just having agonizing pain getting out of my chair. About 8-10 treatments with Luke, and I'm pain free. If your looking for chiropractic care, reach no further. Make sure you tell them I referred you!! read more

I wanted to update my review, because I'm so proud of Dr. Sarah Weber. She's going to be on ABC News, talking about ergonomics in the workplace. Dr. Weber challenges herself to keep learning new chiropractic techniques, and by expanding the boundaries of wellness to prevention, hence, ergonomics. I have been seeing Dr. Weber for 5 years, even though she "fixed" my problem after just a few months. I am almost never sick -no flu or colds - and I feel great. I cannot say enough good things about Total Balance. I became a patient there several years ago after breaking my pelvis in a bus accident. It was the only treatment that stopped -- yes, I mean completely -- my chronic residual pain. Before going to TB, I couldn't stand for more than 20 mins, I couldn't exercise, and I was always uncomfortable/in some level of pain. Fast forward to 2016, I ran the Chicago marathon and I truly believe I wouldn't have been able to do it (or to recover) without TB. In 2017 I became pregnant with twins! I had a very easy, pain free, healthy pregnancy and again, I owe it to the care and treatment at TB. Now I am post Partum and getting adjusted back to my normal self. Dr. Sarah (chiropractor and digestive specialist) is knowledgeable, caring, thorough, and, also, importantly, upfront about her charges and willing to work with you and provide all needed forms and proof when insurance and FSA drama kick-in. When I spoke with Sarah over the phone I immediately knew this is where I wanted to come because she was very sweet and concerned about my pain. I love everything about coming to Total Balance Chiropractic. I love the staff and how knowledgeable and passionate they are about health, chiropractic and nutritional. Though I started going to Dr. Sarah for a hip problem, I have reaped the benefits of better posture and quicker recovery from a sinus cold. I not only visited Dr. Sarah, but Dr. Riley as well. Dr. Riley worked on my muscles and then gave me great core exercises that will help me improve my posture and make me stronger and able to handle the stresses that I put my body through. I work out pretty intensely and I often have to lift heavy objects for my job. It's been 7 months since I started going to these wonderful doctors. I still do the posture exercises because they actually help the tingling go away and I notice a huge improvement in my posture. I am now very aware of how I should be standing and how it should feel to be in good posture. Quite often Dr, Sarah says that she wants me to be able to exercise and run and that I should be able to! I have been a patient of Dr. Sarah for five years. She is very thurough and much fun to work with. She was great to keep me in line during my pregnancies. Both of my kids see her now and she is wonderful with them. My daughter has had uneven hips/legs since she was an infant. The pediatrician recommended that we get an ultrasound but didn't have any recommendations when the ultrasound came back normal. My husband is a bit accident prone, and last night while stretching after a bike ride "threw his back out". He literally could barely walk, he was in debilitating pain. My first instinct was to take him to the chiropractor!! We were able to get an appointment for this morning for him, and saw Dr. Weber. She did a thorough exam using several high tech tools, which is great because it gives us a way to measure progress. She was very thorough with his adjustments - with each one checking the impact it had - and he left the office feeling relief from the awful pain he had been in. Before we left, using a model of a spine, she explained suitable postures and why they are safe, as well as showing my husband why the stretches he was doing were harmful and led to injury.
