I was at the Wild Wing inside Mohawk 4 Ice. I described what I wanted, and what I didn't want. When…read moreI ordered the honey hot wings I would not expecting it to be so hot that I couldn't taste the honey and all I could taste was the hot sauce. I brought it back assuming I got the wrong thing and when given the replacement I got cheese sticks. Good thing I checked. 5 mins later I got back the same wings I originally ordered. I originally ordered 3lbs in two trays and this new tray only had 1lb of wings. She proceeded to tell me that now they are at a financial loss because of my order. I said I didn't care because as a customer if I'm telling you it's not what I ordered it's your job to fix the problem. She then proceeded to grab both trays and was likely to refund me the entire bill but I had eaten some of the wings and wanted to keep them. She then refunded me half or the $32 (minus tax/ minus tip). Although I will be at this place regularly for my daughter's hockey practices and some games this place will never see me. I don't like bad service. I don't like wasting my money. I don't like arguing with staff about my food. I want it to be right and if it's not right, make it right. I don't want drama. It spoils my appetite and pisses me off. To add insult to injury, when she originally brought me the food she said the 3lbs of wings are not supposed to be in containers because they are to be eaten inside the restaurant. I reassured her I was staying to eat but I didn't think I would be able to finish which is why I wanted the to go containers. I told her that she would have given them to me regardless so I didn't understand what difference it made. Ugh! Miserable meal. Miserable customer service. Please do better.

Was at the location near work the night before, My cousin requested to eat here for her birthday,…read moreso I took her here. This location, the waitress was super nice and the restaurant was nice and clean. It didn't take us long to get seated, but the food did take a while. I didn't have a good experience with the wings the night before, but I thought different location let us see what this is about, and again I was disappointed in the wings, however I tried the burger my cousin order and that was amazing. so it seems like all other items are a better choice from the wings. I have truly learned my lessons and I will stick to the burgers and other items rather than falling for my craving weakness of wings only to be disappointed. The waitress here was super nice, best service I have seen and she was running the show by herself, so kudos to her for all her hard work and maintaining a positive to the customers.

I'll start off by saying I've been to the original Anchor in Buffalo but I was going to the…read moreBurlington location not necessarily looking to compare to the original. In all honestly I wasn't impressed with the original Anchor at all really. Their pizza was very greasy and the wings were just meh. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that when you think of the original birthplace of Buffalo wings that your expectations get set a bit high? Perhaps... Anyway I was going to take this Anchor on its own merits with no comparison to the original so I won't. The location for this restaurant is where a Shoeless Joe's used to be and that Shoeless Joe's I hate to say I could see why it closed... It wasn't good when it was there. This replacement place isn't bad but my first impression is that it's not necessarily great either. I don't know if it's just me or what but the prices for this place seem rather high for the type of fare they serve. 8 wings for 14 dollars? Being a lover of chicken wings I can tell anybody that you can get wings for more reasonable prices just about anywhere. Because of the prices I was simply turned away from that option. Knowing what I know about the wings in Buffalo (I said I wasn't going to compare and in the end I didn't) they weren't blow me away anyway. The only place where 8 wings would probably fill me up is at Crisp in Chicago where they are giant and unsplit (basically double) and I wasn't going to have what would equate to an appetizer to fill me up for lunch. I'm a big guy... I need not just quality but quantity too. To me the wings just didn't seem to be a good bang for the buck. Looking over the rest of the menu I decided to go with the beef on weck for a few reasons. One is that you can't get this just anywhere here. Buffalo is close to where we live but this particular food item is not on every pub's menu so to speak. It was a change for your everyday type of food that we can get anywhere here. Surprisingly they offer poutine here, surprise surprise... any place that serves fries in Canada has poutine it's almost automatic. The beef on weck came with a side of fries for 15 bucks. I figured I'd get this since really it's an upgrade to a burger and again it's sort of a special item. The serving size was just about right. It didn't seem skimped on the meat and but it wasn't overkill at all either but it was a fair serving. The bun of course is the star of this dish though. The "weck" or bun is basically a bun that has caraway and kosher salt on it and it adds a particular taste to the sandwich. I sort of had wished I had more horseradish but either way the first few bites I had without the au jus just to get the taste. The beef seemed to be medium well type but it was juicy enough. I kind of wished it was more red, medium maybe. If I was asked (if they serve it that way) I would have asked for medium rare-ish but at the end of the day the sandwich was very good. My critique to this place is that their prices seem to be sort of higher than normal across the board. I had ordered a pint of Goose Island IPA and that was 8 dollars. With wings being almost 2 dollars each and pints in the 8 dollar range it makes me wonder how long this place will stick around with the competition for pub type fare in Burlington is rather fierce. In the end the Anchor is a decent place to go but it just seems to be more expensive than other places which are very similar in the immediate area. While I had a dish that isn't normally available everywhere else, most of what they have on the menu pretty much is as global and universal as you can get. If I would come back to the Anchor honestly it would be just for the beef on weck and not too much else, wings included. I'd put Korean fried chicken up against any other type of fried chicken these days, even an affiliate of the originator of Buffallo wings...

I was surprised to see how this restaurant looked; it was an actual firehall, looking quite authentic when turned into a restaurant. The servers even have firefighter uniforms on, which was something I hadn't seen before. After being seated in a booth, we had settled on the fried calamari to start, following by a cheeseburger with fries for myself, while my friend settled on the sweet potato fries and the buffalo chicken wrap. The fried calamari came within ten minutes of us having ordered. They were quite delicious, with two different kinds of dipping sauces, which went perfectly with the calamari. Next, our main meals arrived. The cheeseburger was very well-prepared, tasting juicy and appetizing. I loved the toppings, especially the in-house garlic sauce, which was a nice addition to the burger. The fries were also nice, as they were crispy, and large enough to fill me up. We then finished our meal with a delicious slice of cinnabon cheesecake, which was amazing! Service was awesome as well, as our server (with the Australian accent), came to check on us often, making sure that we were enjoying our meal. Overall, this place definitely surprised me, as I had an excellent experience in an old firehall, which I didn't expect at all. Would highly recommend this place for a delicious meal in an authentic setting.

I had the "Mexican Bodega Bowl" ($23.25) with a large Canadian ($8.75). The Bowl was delicious but a very stingy portion size, didn't fill me up but very tasty as nonetheless. Our server "TJ" was a dynamic, pleasant fellow & was excellent at his job. Restaurant ambiance was a family style experience with lots of seating & quit noisy but that's what comes with a family restaurant setting. This is a do-over but with a different menu selection

We were visiting Burlington and…read morearrived at our hotel late after our flight, so there wasn't much open in the area at midnight for food. We found this place because it was one of the few restaurants that popped up in our late night Uber Eats search. The restaurant was less than 10 minutes from our hotel and still open for another hour or so. I've never been to a Philthy Philly's before this one, and this Burlington location wasn't on Yelp yet. I also didn't have time to research the place online since I was driving, so I was going in blind. I don't do this very often because it has almost always resulted in a negative outcome in the past whenever I picked a place to eat at random without research. But we were desperate and famished after the flight, so their menu full of Philly cheesesteak varieties and chicken wings sounded downright delicious. I didn't care at that point how authentic their cheesesteaks were; I just wanted to eat. The name of this chain did seem a bit sketchy to me, though (because srsly, who really wants to ingest food from a place associated with the word "filthy"--no matter how it's spelled like). So yeah, I wasn't expecting much at all. At first, we ended up ordering two small cheesesteak varieties and a few small orders of chicken wings as a reconnaissance meal of sorts to test out the food. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. All of the cheesesteaks had a lot of flavour and the meat wasn't dry, unlike some other versions I've tried in the past. The wings were fried really well. Everything was just damn tasty. After passing this initial test, we went full-bore carnivore mode and placed another order for more cheesesteaks and wings. It was a meat-feast for the ages, all at a place found completely by accident. I appreciate how they offer different sizes of cheesesteaks since this allowed me to try multiple flavours in one sitting. I also like the fact they are open late (even later on Friday / Saturday) since finding tasty late-night food in this area seems a bit difficult. Staff that night was friendly, too. I was craving their cheesesteaks and wings the next morning so that was a good sign. I'm glad we gave this place a shot and would definitely stop by again if in the area.

Frank and Teresa's Anchor Bar is directly related to the original "Anchor Bar" located across the border in Buffalo NY. The Anchor Bar in Buffalo is credited as the birthplace of "Buffalo Wings" (a buttery hot style of chicken wing preparation) for those who haven't tried one before. I have never been to the original location, but knowing people who have eaten there the reviews are "average". I would say my reviews are somewhat weighted towards verified reviews by other Yelpers, but I am always one to give a location a try. I was pleasantly surprised at this new location. I sat at the bar and I was greeted by a server who I would like to say was training, but she was friendly enough. Asking for a drink order, I saw they had a good selection of drafts on tap. Goose Island Honkers Ale is my new favorite beer of the month and they had that on tap along with the IPA ($7.95) The beer was cold and crisp. I asked for some recommendations for my lunch and I was helped by another bartender/server who was pretty knowledgeable about the concept and the menu. She highly suggested the wings (that was a given) and some other choices including some interesting burgers. Being that I am NOT a wing person, I decided to go against my usual food choices and opt to try out these "famous" wings. I ordered the Wing Dinner ($15.99) which comes with fries, coleslaw and 1 lb of wings (8pcs) and your choice of sauce (maple honey garlic). After taking my order I looked around at the restaurant and the layout was pretty much the same as the previous restaurant that was here. Signed pictures of famous people, bottles of wing sauce, large screen televisions are throughout the restaurant. Everything looked clean and new (the location just opened on the Friday before my visit) The food arrived in a good time and it looked great. The wings were a great size and it was divided evenly between flats and drums. In my limited wing experience, I have tried a battered/breaded type of wing and one that are floured. These wings are the floured style of coating, which leaves a nice crisp skin on the wing (I personally like breaded). Perfectly cooked and pretty meaty! The sauce was alright, but I think if I was to order wings again I would try the tangy sauces instead of the sweet. The coleslaw was freshly made and it was a creamy style not vinegary. I personally loved the french fries that came as a side. Skin on potatoes, looked like they might have been fresh cut and the spice that was on top of it was excellent. All in all it was a good lunch, good service, nice location, prompt service food was good. Considering that this location has been only open for a week, you really can't ask for much more. 4 stars
