If you're from a region of the USA where you've grown up on Mexican American food set your expectations to "Taco Bell" and you'll be fine; in some ways that's a compliment to Tortilla as you're probably expecting it to be worse. I actually find it superior to Chipotle in the UK where the usual bland faire of that boring chain is force multiplied by the local approach to seasoning. Everything I've had is decent. The OG burrito is quite large so that part it is definitely authentic. Quesadillas are reasonably cheesy and grilled appropriately. Needed a quick snack before heading out to the next site. This spot is reminiscent of a Chipotle setup, quick menu of customized Mexican favorites at decent prices. Personally wasn't too hungry, so ordered the Guacamole Bowl (£3.60) and Tortilla Chips (£1.20). A little silly that the guac doesn't come with chips, yet no matter because the serving is still large. Chips are plentiful and not too salty. The guacamole is just the right amount of chunky that gives each chip a little heft. Could be more spicy, however there are hot sauces abound to get to your preferred heat level. Also ordered a bottle beer (£3.50) to wash it down, a weak ale that was okay. walking around london sure gave ne the hunger pangs..,,stumbled upon this place called Tortilla. while perusing the menu, figured it was exactly like a chiptole...my daughter immediately yelled "lets eat here pls!!!" ordered a chicken naked burrito bowl, a beef and chicken burrito! before you pay, you fist have to pick out the rice, beans and other toppings you want and the meat of course. what they dont tell you is beef costs .80 pence more. guac also is extra $.,,they will mention it right before they spoon it on your order...lol. bad business practice....:( anyhow, the beef was actually pulled beef. so kinda saucy and shredded like pulled pork. its was surprisingly good. juicy and seasoned perfectly. the tomato rice i picked was cooked perfectly as well. aromatic and full of flavour. definitely enhanced my burrito to the next level. the chicken one was awesome as well. generous portions of chunky roasted ( not boiled or fried) chicken with cilantro rice. chicken was juicy and grilled to perfection. the burrito wrap was grilled first to warm it up and the order wrapped in foil after. small store but with seating up and down the stairs... tip: pick the one down coz its closer to washroom and more cooler... staff wasnt that friendly...no smiles...i asked for ice they said no ice...but forgot that there is a cooler right at the counter with canned drinks on ice...less 1 star for 2 lies... cheers! happy eating! read more

I randomly came across a Tortilla on the second floor of Victoria Station. I got the Carnitas Burrito, which cost £5.20. I was surprised. It was actually pretty good. It reminds me of Chipotle. The pork was tender and juicy. It was quite filling and loaded with rice, beans, veggies and salsa. A good place to get your Mexican fix. read more

This is pretty much the UK version of Chipotle and also has similar claims about using ethically reared meats in its products. Walked in thinking this was a great whole in the wall. The girl at the counter could not understand English or Spanish! Mind you she's Latina, talking to the staff in Spanish. All I asked for clarification on the type of meat they offer. Terrible customer service can't speak the language and then looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her in Spanish of their offerings. This a England's version of American Chipotle. The flavor was good but the serving size was small even when I ordered a large. I would recommend ordering a regular. You pay more but get the same amount of food. But you do get a larger bowl to hold your food. :) The person ahead of me ordered a regular but his food was piled high. OK, so I grew up on burritos. I'm a little jaded when it comes to Cal-Mex food - especially in England! I came upon this location by accident and, with a little trepidation, decided to try a burrito. What a surprise! I got a really good burrito much like I'd get in San Francisco or anywhere else in California. Granted, there aren't as many choices as a good taqueria here but, hey, this is in London. Even translating coriander to cilantro wasn't a stretch. To top it off, the staff was very pleasant and fun. I was able to try the grilled chicken and carnitas burritos - thought the carnitas were good, but could've been a lot more flavorful. Chicken was good though! Tortilla is pretty much identical to Chipotle but a little better because they serve tacos and because they're not Chipotle. Not that there's anything really wrong with Chipotle. I just prefer the slightly smaller guy. Great veggie options that come with free guac en masse. A couple decent hot sauce options (Valentina and maybe a house option? It's always a pleasure eating to Tortilla. It's an experience that I advise to everyone. I tried twice in Westfield at Stratford and I fell in love. Guacamole it's amazing and the large tortilla it's a massive lunch. Perfect if after you don't have to do something. Prices have a good balance between quality of food and service, at the end it's a fast food and not a restaurant but they should be. This style of food deserve a nice place and a friendly and financial service. The 5th star does not coming just because I didn't find as meat, the grilled steak and I had barbacoa beef. It's fast, freshly made Mexican food with big portions, good seasoning, and focus on healthier options. I was able to get a burrito bowl (naked burrito) with barbacoa - just like Chipotle. The barbacoa with wet, pulling apart easily, with good seasoning. We found a good amount of seating upstairs, which provides you with excellent street views from above. This is a great place for fast casual food in the busy heart of London. read more

Decent burritos, missing a little bit of flavor though. I liked how they had Mexican rice (not even chipotle has that). They have different sizes for burritos. Guac is only 80 cents. They have seating downstairs. When I went it was crowded but most people were taking there food to go. They do speak Spanish and English. Total price for 2 burritos with guac, chips and guac, and a drink was roughly 18 pounds. AWESOME! read more

When I first arrived in London I was absolutely famished. After an 8 hour airplane ride, I needed to eat ASAP. My sister and I checked into our hotel and made our way onto the London streets to explore, and most importantly, to eat. Tortilla is located about 1 minute away from Trafalgar Square, and close to the Charing Cross underground stop. Tortilla gives you the choice of a regular or large sized burrito. My sister tried that regular burrito, while I decided to try the nachos. My sister liked her burrito, but I found the nachos to be pretty lackluster. Another burrito place! Clearly there is a Burrito Boom in London... Work BFF better get on that Burrito Truck of hers! In the scope of places like this (including U.S. chains), I would actually rate it in one of my top 5. We didn't really have anything in mind... just a bite after seeing Spamalot. As we were walking, I spotted Tortilla. At about 22:30 this seemed like a better fit than say a fancy restaurant. The menu is simple... burritos, salads, tacos... if you don't like any of those things... you should probably head somewhere else. Staff weren't super friendly and the trash on tables just kept getting moved around since no one was cleaning tables on the next floor, which is really the only reason I took a star off of the rating. What I do like, you can have a small or large burrito! In 'murica (America for those of you who don't speak 'murican) there is one size... and while sometimes you are so hungry you could eat a burrito the size of a scabby donkey (yeah that was a phrase I learned from a colleague from Yorkshire), most of the time I want one that I can finish and not feel like I am going to be sick. I opted for a small with pork (a.k.a. Carnitas... and yes I love that it says that on their menu) while Mr. Snarky opted for the large with beef. You could have a Fajita Wrap... grilled veggies instead of beans. The burrito rolling could've used some refining because mine was not holding up. I also really enjoyed the hot sauce at the tables... delicious! There is seating upstairs and downstairs. We also had some tortilla chips with Pico de Gallo (aka their Mild Salsa... it isn't spicy at all). The tortilla chips were nice and warm. You can also grab a Frozen Margarita! I also enjoyed reading their information... like how to eat your burrito. I also enjoyed the fact that they advertise as a "California-Mexican Cuisine" as to avoid all those, sippin' on the hater-ade, that will automatically say that it isn't authentic Mexican Cuisine. Nice place to get your fix of Mexican food. It is tiny where you order but they do have seating on all 3 floors. Very clean and friendly staff. It is located right by the bus stop. As a Mexican I felt this was more authentic than chipotle although it was missing a bit of flavor. I would definitely eat there again. As burritos in London go, this is on the lower end of my spectrum. The veggie one is mostly peppers and mushrooms with a big slop of guac (I think guac is best in small quantities), and the spicy sauce options minimal. A burrito does not come with chips; these must be ordered separately and do not taste fresh. Good selection of Mexican beer. read more

I love a good, well-made burrito, and I was pretty sure I wasn't going to find one in the land of Bangers And Mash, but Tortilla on the upper level of Victoria Station was a pleasant surprise. The ingredients seemed quite fresh and the "spicy" sauce was just right: stinging without a mouth-numbing burn. Great fast food place! I had a bad experience from the server and complained to Tortilla, I found out it was her last day. Tortilla were so nice, apologised and gave me a free Burrito.
