This was my first time trying this food truck. A few friends really hyped it up. The place was such…read morea vibe. We went late one night. There is music playing. There are a lot of Tables ,chairs , benches to sit and eat at. I love that everything spaced out and not closer together. They do have a little station for silverware and a few trash cans around the area. There's also lots of parking space! It's a great date night area, especially when the weather is nice. Before anyone reads this part just know the food is amazing. We waited a whole hour for our food. (I want to say how long the wait is because you probably shouldn't go when you're in a rush ) They did get fairly busy quickly. We were at the back and I was watching the window where they were serving drinks and I really thought they were going to call us up because the pair of drinks were exactly what we ordered. I assumed maybe the drinks were for someone else since we didn't hear our name or number. 30 minutes later they finally called our number. I really wish they would've given us our drinks ahead of time instead at the end because when they place them by the window, they don't put lids on them. My drink was also missing the strawberries. But I was already frustrated so we left. They also had technical issues so I'm just gonna take it as a rough night thing. I got birria tacos and my finance got pastor tacos. We also tried the horchata. The food was soooo amazing. It was juicy and flavorfull. The horchata is probably the best in town! Next time I might bring a book while I wait but there will deff be a next time. I can't even describe how good they were because I was in Aww the whole time I was eating. This is probably the best food truck on our side of town.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment. I arrived at…read moreapproximately 11:50 PM, and my order was not ready until around 12:25 AM. After waiting more than 30 minutes, I discovered that my order was still incomplete. The wait was frustrating, but the way I was treated was far more disappointing. When I addressed my concerns with the owner, Claudia, she laughed at me and made a comment comparing me to other customers who complain, essentially saying that I was "like the other people who complain." I found this extremely dismissive and disrespectful. I was not complaining without reason. I had waited over 30 minutes, my order was incomplete, and I was simply trying to address a legitimate customer-service issue. Instead of receiving an apology or assistance in resolving the problem, I felt mocked and dismissed. I understand that restaurants get busy and mistakes happen, especially late at night. However, professionalism and respect should never be optional. Customers should be able to raise a concern without being laughed at or categorized as "just another person complaining." Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by both the employees and management left a very negative impression. I hope this feedback encourages better communication, accountability, and respect toward future customers.

I think they have just been lucky with the utter lack of competition near them. The food is underwhelming at times, and just ok the rest. The most recent time we came, and trust me it's the kiddos not wanting tias or McDonalds, they had mini tacos. First it seems like the prices go up everytime we come, but the amount of food or quality doesn't get better. Also, almost all places we go to give you a side of charro beans. Not here, I guess the cost cutting has even come to this food truck. I get it, everything costs more. This was place just wasn't that good to begin with. It times it feels like the food is made like someone is just going through the motions, and the bare minimum effort is made. With the downfall of el guacamole down the street, tias horrible food, and don't even get me started on how bad el saborcito is, this the best of a limited choice nearby. I think we will I longer visit after our latest stop.

Tacos had a decent amount of filling. Bean and cheese. I don't think you can go wrong with been and cheese. The beans were tasty and the cheese was, obviously good. Potato and egg. This was a no. The eggs were too dry and crumbly for my taste. I don't like eggs cooked to gray or powder. But the tortilla and green salsa redeemed it. The green salsa was tasty with a nice kick. The red was super hot. I didn't like the flavor of the red. It tasted like dried chilies, but missing something. In any event, it was hot and will knock your socks off. Consider yourself warned.

On Yelp since 2012 I have always rode "High and Low" in my…read moreexperiences. Which has brought me to places, as an introvert I may have never have experienced. Yelping this long I have noticed a simple truth. The places that have good food always wind up being in the most precarious areas. I never want to place a patron in harm's way. However, on a platform that is constantly seeking out the next big thing I implore you to try this long standing San Antonio staple. Somewhere in the deep Westside is Tacos Martinez. It has a name that is assured of itself. And it is. It is perched in an area after a certain hour you would not find me. It has taqueria hours, which are typically from 6am to 3pm. Parking pretty much here fills up quickly. This is not that restaurant where you sit and someone takes your order. It is a cafeteria style restaurant . You go in line inside and stare at occupied tables. Hoping a party will move so you can find a seat. If you've gone to Luby's it's the same thing in theory. You have to know what you are ordering, as the line and servers move quick. If you've looked at their electronic menu for 2 seconds, that would be 2 seconds too long. You move through a line with a steam table to choose your taco fillings. Any taco you can imagine exists here. They offer the usual taqueria fare like carne guisada. But they have: short ribs, bean and sheese, papa's con huevo, bacon, bacon and egg, barbacoa, mollejas which are pretty Mexican, etc. I usually go with their sausage guisado with beans. My absolute favorite thing is seeing the servers bring out the mountain of tortillas, that will turn into tacos. The servers are quick and very efficient. And they stuff your tacos to the brim. Thus it can be a costly endeavor, which I've seen patrons complain about. Some tacos are easily five dollars or more depending on what you order. But seeing their Chile Relleno, that is the size of Zapata's sombrero is all you need to know. A huge selling point for me is their coffee. A local brewer creates the grounds they use. Rarely do good tacos and coffee collide. They have both here. When you come here and try to find seating the inclination is to send someone to reserve seating. Do not, never do this! Especially on this side of town. Westside side eye is the worse thing you will experience in your life. Even more severe than listening to Nickleback. On the food end their tacos are pretty great. I absolutely love their tortillas. When I bite into them I morph into a feral hedgehog. All the tacos I've had so far have not disappointed. In addition they offer breakfast and lunch plates. If you are expecting an elegant ambience, niceties or warm and fuzzy salutations you won't find those here. It is a "Hole in the Wall" restaurant with owners who are all business. You get in line. You order. You pay. You sit. You eat. You leave. For some its location will dissuade customers. But for me it is slowly becoming my go to taco spot. San Antonio is indeed Taco City. You just have to be open to it. And be like the dude in front of me in line with three barbacoa tacos.
