I was in town visiting my girlfriends family in Lytle, Tx. I was hoping we could try out a Mexican Resturant and we ended up coming to Hacienda Jalisence. The inside resturant decor was a little more on the simpler side but definately gave a traditional feel. So on to the food! I ordered a few things in order to give a decent first cut review. I went in for lunch and it Didnt appear to be busy. The staff was friendly but I do feel like we were forgotten for a little bit. The chorizo and egg tacos were okay in flavor but did not knock off my socks off. The tortilla felt a little more on the fluffy side but not terrible tasting. The real winner for me was the barbacoa plate. The barbacoa was great tasting even without the green salsa. Speaking of which the green salsa was good tasting and a little on the hot side. With the onions and celantro , the barbacoa was just delicious. It made me forget about the bad chorizo taco. The last item I tasted was the pork and beef gordita. Even though I only had a bite from my girlfriends plate, it was good tasting. The cheddar cheese was not great quality but the flavor from the meat overpowered it. All in all I was not blown away by this place but I would go back and try some more plates. If I could id give it a 3.5 out of 5. This the place to go for good homemade soups. I gotta admit that I haven't tried many items here besides the soups & chalupas. The tortilla soup is my favorite... tasty broth & chicken with squash, tomato, onion, bell pepper, tomato, avocado, tortilla strips & cheese. It's not your average tortilla soup, so I definitely recommend it! I first discovered Hacienda Jalisence a few years back, driving be the area for work. I've been a repeat customer since then. Restaurant staff has been consistently courteous & have provided very good customer service. The menu offers various selections from breakfast, lunch & dinner. You can expect homemade flour & corn tortillas. The fajitas are not flamed grilled, so personally I would not order fajitas here. I do like the bean & cheese chalupas. This was one of my fav Mexican restaurants. I still think the food is good. However The young man that works the drive thru is rude! Usually it's a girl that takes my order. Beware of this kid I heard on another reviewer that he will over charge you. I ordered a half and half tea and a sweet tea both were Unsweet. I told him this he argued with me instead of just giving me a sweet tea. He either made a mistake which he won't admit or the sweet tea container they forgot to put sweet tea in it. Worst experience! first they couldn't move the tables for 9 people because the owner said no... Then they moved us to a bigger table and we waited for our food to come out but it never did... We saw a party of five come in after us, they ordered and got their food and left. We had to get up and ask where our food was because the waitress never came back to check on us and so when we asked and they brought it out, it was cold! It had been sitting there... Regardless if you order ahead they still take long. God forbid you order in the drive thru. I have even gotten to the point of requesting to pay till food is ready because I don't want to have to stay, if it takes long. Due to pass experiences. Food is okay. Not the best I've had. I use their drive thru which is convenient for me since i have kiddos and don't have to get everyone off BUT somehow always seem to wait 10 minutes plus for my food even if there is only one car ahead of me. Also, this us the 2nd time they give me a taco with very little meat. Not cool. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

I won't give any stars to this place, for the past two days my husband and brother in law have gone to this restaurant and ordered food, the first time they had hair in their food and given that they eat where it's most convenient to their job they decided to give them a second chance but the second time it happened again and they got banned from the restaurant. Had chicken bones & pieces some kind of tough woody plant in it. Left hungry because I was afraid to eat it after finding that. Very dry, tasteless, no sauce on it. Went to restaurant today and ordered caldo. The caldo was extremely greasy and dark brown which was weird!!!! It was not at all to our liking so we returned it and got enchiladas. Then manager came out and said if we wanted it cause it was good and they could see nothing wrong with it. The said even if we ordered something else they would charge us for it. The she changed it and said the business was going to charge the waitress and it would come out of her tips. WOW!!! So we are forced to eat something we don't like!!!! I DONT THINK SO!!! She stood there and argued for a few minutes in a monotone voice and I told her we were done and we would never go back there again, which is a shame. We have been going there for years and they know us and we were treated like she never saw us. i love chips n salsa for my pre meal snack and these were good... the salsa is spicy so beware! i had the Pechuga pollo... sadly my chicken n and shrimp was a bit overcooked but the flavor was really good. my lime margarita was really salty so unless u like that I would go w no salt on the rim or ask for light salt. also sad they didnt have the churros for dessert ?!?! but I went with the Cherry vanilla cake and it is pretty delish. read more

We were loyal customers until today. They left our 2 of our tacos bacon and egg out and our other 2 tacos we ordered Assad a la Mexicana, they left out the tomato onion and peppers from the tacos. When we called to let them know. When we called they said we could come pickup our tacos. We made the trip all the way back over there. I let them know I was the one with the missing tacos. The lady at the the drive thru acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. Another lady came back with only my 2 bacon and egg and a cup of pick de gallo. I asked about my 2 Assada tacos. She stated that's why we gave you pick to put in your tacos. I then asked to speak to a manager that did tell me on the phone that they would give me my 4 tacos. All of a sudden the manager is no where to be found but they called her and the manager told them that she never promised to give me my Assad tacos. After going back and forth for what seemed like a hour. Suddenly they get a call for the manager and she tells me that they will give me My asada taco but this is the last time!!
