The place is is wall to wall tables and they were all filled when I went. They have table clothes (not fancy, but nice) and fried torillas (like chips, except full rounds) on the table with three kinds of salsa. The service was good and the food came out lightening fast. I am a vegan and I went because Yelp says that it is vegan friendly.... which is hard to find in Guadalajara. I only saw one vegan option, which were potato enchiladas. They were good, but they did not blow me away.

All the staff worked together to make sure everything was taken care of. Tomato bit salsa was good with the tostadas, the green sauce was good and the red sauce was the hottest. Guacamole was excellent, nicely seasoned with a little kick to it. I ordered the chorizo quesadillas and they lacked a lot of flavor. The beans were just ok, and the torta to me tasted like a wet pizza. A bit disappointing. To me this was more of a Tex Mex meal than an authentic Mexican meal. Pricing for 4 people was good but I don't think it was as good as reviews say and I'm sure there's plenty more good stuff in the area. I personally wouldn't recommend being that there's plenty out here to try but I might consider trying something else here to try before I give up on them.

Food Review: Los Chilaquiles - Guadalajara, Jalisco…read more On my recent visit to Los Chilaquiles, located right in the heart of Guadalajara, I arrived a bit past the traditional breakfast hour, but I was seriously craving some good huevos rancheros and a comforting café de olla. Thankfully, both absolutely hit the spot. Café de olla is a classic Mexican coffee traditionally brewed in a clay pot (olla), infused with cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo--a deep, rich unrefined cane sugar. The result is a warm, aromatic, slightly spiced cup that feels like a hug from Mexico itself. Their version was delicious. To complement it, they offered me conchas con nata, which was such a treat. Conchas are iconic Mexican sweet breads known for their soft, airy interior and crunchy shell-like topping. Nata is the thick, silky cream that forms when fresh milk is gently simmered--rich, smooth, and perfect for spreading. Together, it's a simple but heavenly pairing. Right away, I noticed that the atmosphere of the place feels warm and inviting--relaxed, friendly, and full of that authentic Guadalajara charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly: attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They started me off with a trio of homemade salsas, along with Mexican crema, queso cotija, and a crunchy homemade tostadita. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. As I looked around, I even noticed photos of well-known personalities who have visited, which makes sense--the food and experience truly stand out. Overall, Los Chilaquiles delivered amazing flavors, excellent service, a great atmosphere, and that authentic touch that makes breakfast in Guadalajara unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

It's always tradition for me to go to this place before settling in. The tacos Al Pastor are unreal along with the arrachera. They just bring out a whole platter of it. They provide a separate warm fresh tortilla pocket so you can basically just customize your portions and salsas on the side. Drinks like the Horchata are great. Service was spectacular. Very kind and attentive server. Huge respect to the kitchen staff who put in the effort to make these classic Mexican food staples. Ambiance is exceptional. The fact that the kitchen staff is shown stripping down Al Pastor strips from the Trompo just brings the ambience experience to another level. Simple, but fabulous!

Lastly, when there was a scuffle between 2 men down the street, he went to go intervene and offered them food (as I believe they were unhoused/in need).
